In Fly Fishing, there is a strong, intrinsic bond with nature. Concepts like environmental safeguard and sustainability were present in the fly-fishing glossary well before the wide popularity they have gained today. Fly-fishing has been, for decades, the only form of angling I have been practicing. After the start with trout and grayling, with the passing of the time, I moved to a more holistic approach by targeting all species within reach. Fly-tying is the perfect complement to the sport. Tying his own flies and catching fish with them is one of the most compelling feelings.

It looks pretty good! We are not used to this kind of fly pattern here in Spain. But I think I'm going to tie some of this one for the next season. It's simple and could be very effective when the caddis are hatching.
give a try, it is a very good pattern that fits many situations, let us know
Ай хороша, и цвет что надо.
yes, it's good one
I have always called this a Mother’s Day caddis.
Why wouldn’t you just wrap the peacock hurl?
Hi Paul, the peacock braided around the mounting thread will provide a far more robust and durable fly. It will last much longer and will withstand the bite of dozens of trout.
@ smart I’ll have to try it sometime
Хорошая муха, классная работа👍🤝
thanks
Good pattern!
Very nice!
Looks amazing
what a magic river to be spending time in - great vid
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
❤❤👍👍👍❤️
Pozdrav svim pratiocima, gdje se mogu poručiti ovi strimeri😊
What rod and line do you use for carp?
hi Alfredo, I use a 10 foot rod #7 loaded with fly line #8
How low have you set it? All the best
hi, can you re-phrase, as I am not clear about the question
Hello, of course. I am referring to the thickness, resistance and also the type. Fishing line or fluorocarbon. Greetings. Thank you.
I have seen most of they on your website. Actually I found it by doing a database with pics of the insects and their imitations; also with the tying pattern. It was the best way to realize you don't need a lot of boxes plenty of flies. Only some good ones in different sizes.
What hook are you using?
Sorry, just saw the hook and bead head size
That looks great. Going to make one now. I made a white fly with UV white fritz, wrapped on top of a foam body. It caught lake trout very well when 'popping' (a sharp tug) on the surface; but even better when an end came unraveled forming a tail. So now I make them with a tail. This fly has saved the day when no one was catching on anything!
Great pattern and video!
Glad you like it!
Nice bug thanks
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Real neat! I think this fly would work for the 'rich men's tarpon' also, in a 4/0 size. Good job, thanks!
I have not tried it for tarpon, but it is a good point. If you get the chance, let me know how it does :)
Thanks for your faster replay! I will, but have to wait and save for a year... and having fun preparing! And having fun fishing over here of course, as always 😊
Fast reply i meent, stupid auto-correction...
Weather looks great. What dates were you there?
toward the end of June
I couldn’t work out if you paired the peacock? Doesn’t look like it. I’m not a nit-picker by nature, but what’s going on with the hackle? First you strip half of it for some mysterious reason, then you tie the thread over it !? If you find winding hackles difficult, a false hackle would have done just as well, and been neater and less bulky. It’s a good fly and it will catch, but I wouldn’t want people thinking this is the way to do it
I by far favor half stripped winded hackle to false hackle, more consistent shape and durability. Stripping half of the barbules renders the fly less bulky. Peacock swords are paired.
@@euroflyangler That doesn’t make sense to me. If you keep the hackle intact you need half the number of turns, so it’s going to be less bulky. And if you use a false hackle, which I must admit I’m not a fan of, you have no stem involved, so it’s automatically less bulky ( if you do it right ). Honestly I’ve never seen a wet fly hackle done like that, though I do see a lot of dry flies done with half-stripped hackles. The tyers are looking for super-neatness, but to me it looks unnatural, pretty dreadful really.

What rod are you using? I want to get myself a fly combo (my first one) for asp.
a 9 foot 8 weight
Hi, great video. Thank you. What flies were you using?
hi Matt, cdc midges for the rising fish and small orange wooly bugger for the rest
@@euroflyangler thanks mate
Wouldn’t it have been easier putting the lead wire on prior to tie the tail and body material?
A brilliant fly.
That fly is identical to my bead pheasant tail that I have tying for yrs and it is really good!!
Nice nymph
Great impressions from the Danica Hatch Would you mind to share which River you fished?
Very nice

Thank you EuroFlyAngler for sharing the video! I saw your videos and found in one of them a description of how to connect this streamer. To my regret, I did not find information about the size of the hook and the streamer itself. I will be happy to receive this information. Oh, and one more thing: how do you wire this streamer? Do you produce quick and short strips without pauses or long ones?
Hi, I use hooks in size 1 and 2 for this streamer (gamakatsu f-314). In regards of asp fishing, retrieve it fast and with no pause. For the black bass it may be more productive to retreive the streamer with quick, brief strips alternated with short pauses.
crazy video man, amazing asps!
thanks for this video. securing that marabou tail in that manner is a good suggestion and I will be working with that in the future. Of course seal is banned in th US so we are using an array of substitutes but nothing looks as good as that material. Denny Rickards used it on the original. Good work and thanks again.
Glad it was helpful!
This looks as if it will catch plenty trout .👍
