I subbed for the correct technical term "tarting them up" being used.
Thanks Duncan for the video, I will be watching and waiting for the next ones. Some great tips in there.
Hey Duncan, Huerco x Yamanami Limited Edition Mountain Stream Bait Finesse Rod. Are you able to bring any in?
Loving these videos Duncan keep it up 👍
Got my Bottom sensor 15 mins ago. Steez SV TW on it, what do ya reckon :D Cheers Alex!
Based on this review, I bought a couple here in japan. Looking forward to catching a few fish with them.
Good day, very interesting rod Zenaq Fokeeto FC76-3 Twitch. Could you tell me what size reel would fit this rod? I wanted to put Shimano Stella SW6000HG, what do you think ? ☺️ Thank you
Love the videos legend! Mahalo nui loa to you champs at FishHead 🤙🏾 Aloha
🤙Much appreciated
Killer action! 🔥
Super! 😍👍 What's tackle used ( Rod, reel and line)? Thanks in advance.
Hey mate I just purchased a Shimano Twinpower 10000 and I'm looking for a rod to complement it but I do not have enough money to spend 1000 dollars on a rod, what budget friendly rods ($500-$650) would you recommend for stick baiting/popping for pelagics aswell as some reef flats fishing? Cheers mate, Diesel
Great review. Funnily enough I bought this after a short conversation with Duncan. Should have watched this video beforehand! Can't wait to cast and hook up!
Glad it was helpful!
Great vid. Very informative. Could you make a vid on budget to midrange rods next?
@fishheadtackle what PE line weight is your recommendation for casting 60grams up to 180grams? Much appreciated.
Great video! Someone know about max drag of the Fooketo Twitch 73-3?
Hi, Most brands don't list a max drag rating because the actual weights are very dependent on the angle of the load. The higher the rod angle, the more the tip is taking the load. So for a rod like the Twitch 73-3, I would expect 4-5kg of drag with the rod held up at 45 degrees and the weight hanging straight down. When the fish is pulling at a shallow angle away from the angler, or the rod is held at a lower angle, then max drag of 6, 7 or 8kg could possibly be used. Hope that helps!
Really great vids!! Can you please make a video taking about braided line (like brand, pe needed to used). Thank you
Hi We'll look into it and see what we can do on the subject.
I like how u break down the most important part 〽️ how you move the bait ❤
Can you test the Ocean Devil 74? THANKS
We review the Ocean Devil Diablo 74 in the PE 4-5 Review th-cam.com/video/JnCGB50nTMM/w-d-xo.html
@@fishheadtackle I mean the most powerful one for big GT and Tuna, thx
The TBO 180s is certainly a fish magnet. I recommend swapping out the trebles for one if not two singles though. The lure has a lot of girth, and it rolls in the fish’s mouth. I had 4 strikes from mid to large sized GT a couple of days ago and couldn’t set the hook on any of them. Was using BKK raptor trebles. Next time will swap out for two 7/0 singles. Lure is now covered in teeth marks but hasn’t yet caught a fish.
Hi, Usually with a round bodied lure I would favour the treble on the belly, because there is always a prong sticking clear from the body, whereas the single can lay flat against the lure. If they were pretty large GTs then it's possible the size of the treble was struggling to get a grip around the fishes jaw, as BKK Raptors to match the TBO 180 are not huge hooks. In this case I would also swap to the singles - you get a larger gape hook for the weight, as well as a significantly stronger hook. The only downside will likely be missing some of the smaller bycatch species that hit the lure.
What are your thoughts on the Zenaq tc80-50 compared to the rest of the rods on your list?
All the rods in the PE2-4 video are in the shorter 7'3-7'8 range. These shorter rods are very versatile for doing both horizontal presentations, like casting minnows and topwaters, as well as more vertical presentations like hopping soft baits and vibes across the bottom. Once you go to an 8 foot rod like the Tobizo 80-50, with its longer butt and tip, then the rod gets much better for the topwaters and minnow lures, but not as good for vertical presentations. So bottom line is the Tobizo 80-50 is a fantastic topwater/minnow rod but not as versatile for other presentations
@@fishheadtacklethank you for your time and the information. Great video
Nice one,how much does it weights???ps:wishing you a quick recovery mate 😊👍🤙🤙
The FCL Labo CSP 110 IFS Sinking is 38g and floating is 23g
Someone dishonest unfortunately has nicked my HKMT 55 MD and the 45 that I purchased from you. Any chance you can get more?? They are phenomenal on bass and trout!!! Get well soon Duncan!
We don't have many of the little HKTM lures left, but there are a couple in stock. The tiny lures are ones they don't build so often, but they are very effective on the trout! fishhead.com.au/fcl-labo-hktm-45/ fishhead.com.au/fcl-labo-hktm-55md-diving-minnow/
Good video as always. Hope your arm recovers well
Thanks, it's getting there, but a few more weeks until I can put weight on it
Thank you for the video
You're welcome
Awesome video of some familiar lures, great to see the drone footage of how they really swim! Keep them coming Duncan 👌
Thanks, will do!
be nice to know lure weights and best hook config/sizes :0)
If you go to the description and click on the link to the product on our website all the information is there.
hi we're abouts in australia are they for sale ?? and what price would i be looking at please 🎣🎣
We are based on the Gold Coast and open by appointment. but all prices are available on the link in the description.
How does the tobizo compare to the 10’ HH muthos accura rod?
The Tobizo rods were designed for fishing from a boat where fighting fish straight up and down is a priority, so they have much more power in the bottom end for lifting. Also being shorter makes them more comfortable in long battles. The Accura rods are longer and designed for shore casting, so they can cast long distances easily and can use the length to steer fish around rocky outcrops or manage the line/lure in a surging wash.
@@fishheadtackle thanks for the feedback! I ended up going with the accura
great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
How do you feel about tuna specific rods for GT stickbaiting? A lot of the Japanese companies like to have a stiffer GT lineup along with a more supple tuna lineup for longer fights. I really like my Ripple Fisher 87AS for smaller tuna lures and working 70-130 gram stickbaits, would it be a good tool for a medium stickbait setup (GT in the 15-35 KG range)? Or would another dedicated GT stickbait rod be recommended to compliment my Ripple Fisher 80 Reversal. Thanks a bunch.
Hi, you can definitely use tuna style rods for catching GT. The only downsides can be that the softer style tuna rods don't always set hooks as well or perform with the larger stickbaits as well as a dedicated GT style rod. So it will do the job, especially if you plan on using some smaller lures, to compliment larger lures on your heavier GT rod
pls advise price for each rods pls sir n line braid n leader suitable for each rods pls tnks n god bless
Hi, if you go to the description for the video it has links for all the rods on our website with the prices and more detailed descriptions. As this is a PE8 video, the rods will all suit PE 8 line, though some are more PE6-8, while others handle PE8-10 nicely. The leader strength depends on the target species, but I typically use up to 180lb leader on PE 8 lines. If you go heavier, I find the thickness of the leader relative to the braid causes more tip wraps and wind knots when casting.
hi, is the ocean devil king slayer a good rod for fishing with small poppers 30-40gr and with wtd, or is it too soft?
Hi the King Slayer is fairly soft at the tip and is ideally suited to stickbaits and minnows. However when you're talking 30-40g poppers, the cups are not all that big, so it will still get a pretty reasonable action with them. Maybe not the biggest pop but it should pull them through the water ok. If you want to get a sharper and more aggressive action, then look towards the stiffer rods like the FCL 73L or M
Hey there duncan, i was wondering if fishhead stock like daiwa or shimano rods for example, i think it would be cool to see you breakdown some of the rod family from daiwa or shimano like the saltist hyper, spartan, saltiga c rod, etc since you have a lot of knowledge regarding this subject, i always enjoy watching your rod showcase video so i thought it would be nice to see you do it for a less expensive rod options
These lure action videos are great!
Glad you like them - we hope to get a few more done over the next couple of months
Lures catch fishermen first
Haha yes, it has to catch the angler first, before it can catch a fish
Next one will be my lures from Spain too 😉
I got some of the 130 Milk Shakes for my last trip but never used them so it's great to see them in action.
Give them a swim on your next trip, they have a very nice action!
These come with hooks?
pretty sure it does..
@@philliphurd3102mahalo!

Hey there, each Labana lure comes with BKK hooks check out the product description for more details.
HA!! just brought some of the Milkshake lures this morning..
Perfect timing then!
@@fishheadtackle cant wait to try them on some kings!
Great video, good job 👌
This video makes choosing a rod much easier. Seeing this being test is much better than just looking at pics and specs on a website
Thankyou that was our goal when we started this channel
I've been following your channel for quite a while now and I was wondering if you'd do a review on the tobizo 86 110
We will add it to the list

Love the vids Duncan. Can we please get a vid highlighting the Tobizo 83-150g and 150R?
Once we have both versions back in stock, we'll try to do a comparison video on the G versus Type R models
Amazing video really needed
Glad you think so!
I’d love a review of the Ocean Devil Diablo 76 F Shallow Spirit 60g rod please!
We will add it to the list!
Good Video,👍 A Video from the The CSP 220 Sinking CSP 260 Sinking CC40 SPP 220 SPP140 Would be very nice.
We will add them to the list!
For the CSP S220 sinking and S260 sinking, the action is pretty much the same as the 180 sinking that we showed in the video. As you go up in size, the tail kick slows down a little but the darting and S shaped swimming remains the same. The extra bulk in the water means you can rip them harder, and you can feel the vibration of the lure more clearly through the rod. The other lures I intend to put in an FCL popper action video soon
