No doubt house looks filthy

This happened to me a couple of times. I live alone and simply do not generate a lot of garbage. Sadly, I don't have chickens to assist so I just started using grocery bags for trash. I double bag and hang it from one of my cabinets. Works like a charm!

My Dutch Bantam hen handles the black widow population outside around my house, and if we find a spider at night we gently wake her up & show it to her & she eats it, handling being awoken extremely well. Love chicken pest control lol

That's is something I would never tell. How gross could you imagine the smell

We had some rats get in our cabin. Tried live traps. Caught a youngster. Mom retaliated by chewing a hole in a 2 1/2 gal. water jug in the pantry, releasing the flood. Brought in some of the colony cats from outside. Wasn’t pretty but it was effective. We now have inside and outside cats and haven’t seen a single rat, living or dead, since.

Yeah maggots happen and they happen fast when its hot. I do t feed my animals wet food in the summer because of this very issue.

To those wondering how this happens, it happened to me once too. I threw out a plastic bag with some blood, from a bone for my dog, on a really hot day. I first took out the trash 2 days later and noticed it smelled particularly bad - a few days later I picked up some blankets from the floor, for my dog to lay on, and when I lifted it to shake any sand out of it, maggots fell out of it!!! So basically it all happened in the span of a few days, I don't know if it was because of the bloody plastic bag and bone, but I assume so. Maybe it was already contaminated with eggs. The thing is they freaking migrated! Needless to say I have never sterilized my apartment so thoughroughly and I now take out my trash every single day + no longer give my dog raw bones, during the hottest months of summer! 😅
