Transformative Media Literacy in Early Childhood — Michelle Kang
Media literacy is about wonder, imagination, learning, thinking, and reflecting! What are both the planned and spontaneous media literacy teaching opportunities in an early childhood classroom and how do educators navigate them? Hear early childhood teachers, faculty, and an author of a new book on media literacy discuss how their thinking about media literacy has evolved, how they are moving beyond the screen time debates to focus on media literacy as a tool for engaged learning.

Beyond Stakeholder Engagement: Centering Early Childhood Educator Expertise in Policy Making
I appreciate this podcast. However, as a lead preschool teacher, I do try to include a particular child and he will just hit or push the other children. The child randomly wil smack another child in the face. Where we do draw the line? It's only been about 6 weeks of school. We had a week school closure due to the DOH shutting us down. Then I was told that I did not have clearance to work (it's my 4th year), only to find out my clearance was completed in July! The other children take the brunt of this child's physical behavior. I am fortunate to have a floater work with just this chid but it is not always the same floater. As the lead teacher along with my assistant and floater work to redirect the chilld into doing an activity without hitting someone, grabbing the toys they are playing with, scratching another child or taking a marker and drawing on another child's face or clothes. I am required to leave open bins on shelves for all children. However, there are many things I keep either hidden or on a high shelf such as scissors. I am at my wit's end and exhausted dailly.
I am in the process of my ECE studies and NAEYC .

Thanks for the information
Margie is perfectly emblematic of the know-it-all leftists who have done so much harm to the country, and especially the underclasses. She can only imagine a world in which people are dependent on an army of government agents and legions of social welfare professionals. The real beneficiaries are people like Margie.
Hi, this was a part of my module learning in college. The information is good, but the sound quality makes my ears bleed. :(

That audio, it's so painful to go through it!!!
Yes
yes
I just watched a bit where this insane lady said people are flocking to Democrat run cities all across the country because they're so wonderful and vibrant. What a complete fruitcake.
This was incredibly encouraging to watch!!! So refreshing to see educated, accomplished women in the field speak so highly of family caregivers and giving credit. Society tends to downplay the work of a family caregiver. I, on the other hand, am a firm believer that the work I have done will stay with the children forever, just like they’ve all stayed with me throughout the years ❤
At the present time, I teach PreK3. I have been an early childhood educator for the last 9 years. I am here to learn about the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct
I have been working in HR for over 30 years. My role in to manage the staffing and recruitment functions.

I am a teacher assistant, of 9 years in the same classroom, at LC Hatcher Elementary School in Lucedale, MS. I have been in the Special Education Department for 9 years. I don't know much about the NAEYC code but would definitely would like to know about it.
Lord help me for dishonoring you? what? where did that originates? scary?//
The speaker's mic was position to her left red scarf and most of her speaking was directed to interviewer at her right. The speaker's head was looking down at times making it difficult to understand what she was saying. Some of the words were not too clear. The overall impression was the importance of the NAEYC code of ethics is a set of professional standards that helps professional solve ethical issues in the interest of the children.
These ideas are excellent for engaging children towards higher level learning.
First of all, fantastic video and thank you for all the good tips! But I had some questions regarding the group problem-solving part. You said not to use the name of the child that behaved badly when discussing how to problem-solve as a group, but if it is a small class or the bad behavior was especially visible (for example one child started screaming and crying in response to another child knocking her tower over) then won't students already know which child is being referred to? Couldn't that still cause them shame? What is the point of not using names if it is obvious which child is being talked about? Also, even when talking about the victim or one child's positive behavior, isn't it still possible to embarrass that child? Some children (such as myself when I was a kid) are very sensitive and don't like having attention drawn to them. If a teacher were to ask "what did you do to help Alexa feel better after her feelings were hurt?" and I were Alexa, I'd be embarrassed being pointed out like that and having attention drawn to me, even if though it's worded positively. So I guess I'm just curious, what might you do in such a scenario?
I’ve had issues dealing with parents not comfortable with men in early childhood. How do I deal with it
All the webinar has so much knowledge to learn by.
This was a super helpful training! I love how you incorporated the ACE Study in the training!
I witnessed domestic violence with my parents during the '70's-80's, was abused emotionally, mentally, physically, and sexually. It has taken over 40 years to heal and forgive. That is why I teach young children and by learning about child development, I healed myself and was able to raise my son safely and in a nurturing manner even though I was not nurtured myself. I feel strongly about helping children to be safe and resilient, to be healthy and develop well. Anxiety runs through my family obviously. My mother passed on early from cancer that I attribute to the trauma that she endured; she was age 61.
Nicely done, Tony!
