8:18 i want to STRONGLY disagree with Ruth having the "worst death" i mean it was BAD but i think Richie truly had it worst. Something i also noticed!! While Pete is on the phone and Ruth and Richie are listening in, its funny how Ruth is more touchy with Pete than Richie, who just stays on his arm/ shoulder. it makes sense since Ruth would be more of the touchy type, but its also funny how it could also be bc Lauren and Joey are literally married, so I think she would get a pass for that lol

I think the brilliance of the ‘lockdown’ breakdown in Hatchet Town is it lets a performer connect to the actual lockdown we all experienced in the middle of a comedic bit while still being about that comedic bit. I can’t say that’s where Bryce went, but that’s where I went when I heard ‘lockdown’ even in the context of that number.

i feel like there's something to be said about max and Steph's offscreen relationship, being that its weird she doesn't seem to have one with him AT ALL. She asks "who are you running from" when anyone who knows ANYTHING about Max Jagerman would know he's running from max. Max controls every single kid at hatchetfield high INCLUDING popular kids like Brenda, Jason, Kyle, and Stacy. and yet Steph is above it all. likely because she's the mayors daughter, theres nothing that could possibly make her uncool or to even bully her at all.

The thing that gets me about the initial questioning of the police is - why the fuck did they say it that way?! Lile, they have been told that this group of people were his friends and then then they continue to fuck around with actually telling them their friend is dead? Like, I get that the way they're talking is to make us think they're talking about Max, but also they way they're talking just sounds like max even if the kids didn't know anything about his disappearance at all.

I'm sorry, but Ruth's death is definitely not the worst. Richie got his nipples ripped off, cut up just so Max could use his blood to write "Nerdy Prudes Must Die" and then after all that he was drowned in a toilet. If the opening is canon he was even chased around just for Max's entertainment Ruth at least got the mercy of a quick death, Max took his time with Richie (Probably because of the "I'm not a loser", as Max didn't like people going against "God's word" on who is a nerd and who isn't)
