#38 Resin and flowers deep pour and how to fix it when it goes wrong!
มุมมอง 1274 หลายเดือนก่อน
I almost messed this one up, but I saved it and wanted to show you how! This is what happens when you try to rush a project. This go wrong and you end up making it take longer because you have to fix it. Resin takes patience and time. It is not an instant reward. Most of my projects take three to five days to complete if I want them to turn out great! I used @uniconeart deep pour resin and @LET...

Oh my goodness what a great idea! I can’t wait to make some. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you like it! Let me know how yours turn out!
I love your paper towel resin video. Is there a link for the flowers you used? Thank you.
Thank you! I added links in the description for all of the flowers!
They look beautiful!
Thank you!
I've tried pouring epoxy slow cure over the rip of my skulls. All I get is lumps, and runs.
@@thatsright4046 you may not be using the correct type of resin. For this I use Promise Table Top resin. It is thicker and stays on better. Also, if you let your resin sit and become thicker you may have better luck!
@Redlotusresin I used, "Let's resin fast cure."
@ I think that may be your problem. Fast cure resins aren’t made for coating. It will try to harden in areas as it’s still flowing down the sides and cause lumps. The Lets Resin regular resin should work good for this though!
@Redlotusresin sounds like a plan. I'll give it a try, and thanks for responding 👍
@ no problem at all! I’m here to help!
These are the freaking coolest!! 💝 (I'd sit a coaster mold underneath as to not waste the resin)
@@CinnamonClouds6486 yes! I do that now!
@Redlotusresin I figured as much. You're very talented! I'm happy I found you for inspiration! 💝

I’m going to try this using UV resin! Love your ornaments.
@@SherryLongo Thank you! I’ve never tried this with UV! Let me know how it turns out!
Hi I live in the UK and I am trying to build up a small business and I want to focus on unique pieces such as small themed tables and lamps, I am working on a similar piece to the kol carp piece you are doing. Can I ask do you also sell your work? If you do how much would you charge for this table? Where do you start getting your work noticed please?
@@paulabolger7741 I do sell my work. It’s taken time to get my name out there. I have done vendor shows, farmers markets, and I sell on line. It does take time to build up a reputation for your business so you have to be patient. The way I price my items is I figure out the total cost including resin, items used in the resin and hardware (in this case the table legs), and add a cost for my time to make it. Then I usually double that and that’s what I charge. You can look at other sellers in your area to see what they charge also because every area has different price ranges. Hope that helps!
Love the looks of both 😍
If you want it to have a cleaner look, cut off the stem with some type of saw, and you will have more area to glue to or attach the UV dot to. I like your idea with the UV resin 👍 I also sand the bulb a bit. It came out sharp.
I just found you! Why... your channel has not BLOWN UP YET IS PERPLEXING 🤷♀️ I absolutely LOVE your Tutorials and how. "Real" you are! (That's a compliment!). Curious if you can think of anything else we can make with these bulbs/shakers???
@@marilynleonard7677 Thank you so much!!! There are so many great resin artists that sometimes it’s hard to be seen. I have a video showing how to make a shaker snail too! It’s video #23. Those are a lot of fun too and I’m always on the hunt for new molds that I can use this technique in.
That's awesome!!!!

What’d you use in the shaker besides the glitter? I’ve heard a lot of people use baby oil.
@@ddhomestead6163 I use a 50/50 mixture of vegetable glycerin and water.
Can you do these on glass ornaments, instead of plastic?
@@MsOscara Yes! I’ve done them in glass and they worth the same way.
You actually need to have a bubble inside the shaker ball so that you get good movement.
Can you use any type of mica powder?
@@kellyturner6771 Yes you can!

How do you preserve fresh flower
@@FidhaFathima-r6e I put them in silica gel beads for about a month or until they are fully dried out. That helps preserve the color and shape.
