O man your doing good so far here's a few tips instead of dropping or scraping sell to the trader seeing as your going knife only it's going to be impossible to hunt for food so the extra funds will help and paper cash still has some value to the trader one of the big guys had like 400+$ and could have been traded for the dukes to buy food or medicine also don't read all the books if your not going to use them again the trader is your frd even though he wants to kill you (joke) the bleeding you put in the zombies is helping you a lot keep upgrading that , what I don't like and I don't know if it's been changed is you can't reuse the glass bottles for water and teas I hope this changes.

5:00 you should use the priorities menu located at the top bar and have different people prioritize different things. Early game, farming, researching digging should be +10 priority and attacking on every dupe should be +20.

3:50 keep your outhouse at a higher priority than everything else. This ensures they clear it all up before anything

Gas filters are a huge waste of power. They need 120 w of power. Its better to get element sensor from automation whidh can check what is in the pipe and it filters it out that way. Ill keep commenting as i watch. U need to get on coal power and smart batteries asap

The struggle is real that water will run out pretty fast you need to get there schedule on point certain people doing certain things make eating and bathroom breaks almost the same time and get that water filter going to be able to re use some of that water but you also need one guy going around and looking for any of the natural vents plus more water those filter tiles can also be used as a floor that makes great bedroom floor to move the CO2 around also don't keep all the beds and bathrooms in one place keep your ppl around the areas where they work like a apartment/job site for example the research just have one person do it but also have them sleep eat and bathroom there as well

Noticing a lot of mistakes which remind me of my first playthrough(colony died on cycle 212 to heat). Here are a few tips. 1 Rooms are your best friend. Rooms give u morale boost and u can see how to make the rooms and what requirements they have by room overlay(default f11). Two rooms u should really try to get are barracks and a great hall and a latrine as well. This will take care of your morale needs for the first 50-60 cycles by itself. 2 tying into the last point, rooms should always be 4 floors wide. This is because most of your room requirements are divisible by 4 and duplicants have a 4 tile reach, maximising efficiency. 3 there 3 huge noob trap buildings, namely algae terrarium, compost, and storage bins. Algae terrarium require water and remove very very small amounts of CO2 while donsuming large amounts of water, which is a resource u should keep for research and sinks before u have a renewable source. Compost gives dirt which will be infected with food poisioning and storage bins waste dupe time in the early game by sweeping. On that note, u have too many oxygen diffusers, 2 should be more than enough for the 5 dupes u have. Another waste of water is using microbe musher. The foods there require massive amounts of water and should onky be kept as a last resort when ur colony is almost starving. 4 make your ladder shaft 2 tiles, as in keep a column empty next to your ladder. This is because with research, u can unlock fire poles significantly reducing time taken for dupes to go down. 5 power is also a finite resource before u start electrolyzing, wasting it on lights and stuff is a massive waste. 6 just have fun, this colony is gonna die and u should accept that from the start, but try to learn so your next ones survive longer

You need air pumps to move the CO2 and the oxygen around as well with water and the nasty water vent floors help as well also make one huge water area and one huge nasty water area to be recycled into clean water.

They display pretty important information, so keep track of them! Anyways keep at it, i would very much like to see how far you can get with this first attempt!
