Anyone that knows anything about shark diving it’s that you do not mess around with Oceanic Whitetips.
One of these divers had to know about oceanic white tips. Idk....SMH. God willing, you are ok
1st rule ov ocean idiotness always swim toward the threat
That shark didn’t attack, that shark just sharked. Two or three of those divers engaged in stressed behavior and keyed it up before it bit. At first, it was just minding its own business. It even had a little fish friend. (Because fish are friends, not food.) It’s the same thing as “I’m going to smile at this gorilla, because he’s my friend” or “I’m going to turn my back on this tiger because I trust him.” That’s just dumb.
airplane ass shark
It’s like what did the guy expect? He didn’t even redirect the shark he just stuck his leg out waiting for it to munch on him… Darwin award goes to this idiot (obviously the guy who stuck his leg out like a drumstick right in front of the sharks face)…🤣🤣🤦🏾
This is what happens when you get messing about where you shouldn't be
Dive knife?
I love Ocean, what about you?
Yepp her legs ripped off
Right at the beginning you can see the shark swimms through bubbles and gets agitated by it. In the end it was a small shark and an inquisitive bite, I suppose the lady will have some scars but no serious dammage. Shame she did not know to stand still in the water and face the predator, but then again she only was the sharks second choice so she had no time to prepare.
Well if the shark had come on land and attacked I'd be shocked. But these people came to its home and harassed it. No different than engaging a home intruder.
Do NOT run panicked from the shark! It's like turning your back on a tiger. You face them calmly, and redirect with your hands on the top of the head if they get too close. This diver responded by turning away and kicking rapidly. This triggers the sharks prey response, and they will attack again.
best example of "fuck around and find out" IMO
Get that f there is like a hundred of you
Did the diver survivr. Looked like he bit off her leg. Why were the divers not grouping together for safety. Flailing theirnstltms and legs..i bet the shark was so sick of it. One idiot even took s flash photo❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
darwinism
This is why I do all my ocean and woods exploration on the INTERNET. Never had a problem!
Mmmmm Mmmmmm tastes like chicken !!!
Like a kid trying to choose which burger to go for in McDonalds...
Oceanic white tips are very nasty sharks. I’m guessing these are new divers or at the very least, not familiar with the animals in there location. You don’t ever stick around when one shows up!
It showed no fear. No fear of the bubbles, the people and singled out its target. Well its abit like walking about in a velt with a lion on it.
Shark got a leg up on the diver
Rule number 1: don’t dive in shark infested waters Rule number 2: ( If you’re dumb enough to ignore rule number 1) don’t ever turn your back on a shark Rule number 3: it’s too late 🦈
Its the sharks environment not yours. If you play with fire your going to get burned. Btw who had the harpoon gun ?
Lol - this was comin'!
50 vs 1 and who wins?
Looks like he wanted a human leg from McDonald’s
Buddy would have eaten the shank on the first bump. Mind your business sharky.
How severe was the wound?
pectoral fins down, twisting motion of the body indicates an aggressive posture and caution should have been used. I leaned that watching shark week when I was 11..
What is there like 20 of them down there? And they are all spread out watching this shark, pectoral fins down, quick tail flick, stalking, and all those idiots are oblivious to what is happening.
That guy literally presented himself sideways to the shark
Shark went after two people...before the big bite,,, they all sat there and did nothing..wow..shouldve left...kinda their fault.
You wanna get close to sharks - you'll get bitten - simple
At least 10 divers encircling this shark with a rock formation behind it, I'd be a bit scared if I was in the sharks position. Attacking a potential threat in order to find an escape route makes so much sense to me. Whenever people are around wildlife whether on land or in the water it's always a good idea to consider the creature being observed, how they may feel, any anxiety they may have, whether they feel trapped in order to avoid attacks. I'm saying this as someone that worked in a zoo with very dangerous animals, handled them daily and never received a bite from any of them.
Not the sharks' fault the divers ignored the sharks' warning signs. Divers fault.
Yeah, its probably for the best, they wont go diving again
Chararinus Longimanus. My favorite fish. Unfortunately, White Tips are super scavengers, and are frequently the culprits of shark attacks in plane and boat crashes. They are a large pelagic shark species who generally moves very slowly through the open ocean. If this shark was near the Islands, than it was most likely finishing a LONG migration. (Literally thousands of nautical miles). These slow dumb monkies bobbing by the reef were too irresistible to taste test after weeks without food. As for the divers. I'm Padi certified (doesnt mean much, can be accomplished in a weekend) and have logged around 12 dives in my career. They handled the shark encounter perfectly. That said, Dive Master should habe corralled the group together to lessen the chance of an investigatory bite.
Oceanic White Tip = bad news
"This is how it is played this game. Everyone stays still and wait until seeing who is the lucky one being bite. It is not allowed to help your buddy if he/she is the chosen one"
If you go to someone's country learn the customs and some language. That shark spent a long time politely asking them to leave. They either didn't understand, see above, or they ignored. Well, they were told.
Sorry guys but really dumb.
That's why you have bang sticks. And you don't let the sharks get that close without discouraging them.
"Hey guys Im just going to ignore this shark and turn my back on him despite the fact he's been after my buddy for a solid two minutes now. Because Im a moron."
Clear case of poor judgement
Fins clearly down. Aggressive display
I have no issues with not diving, and also not swimming after a shark that has just almost swimmed past everyone. The one diver was following it and it turned around.
He was the only diver who made zero effort to move his legs out of the way. Jesus christ why did he just let it happen. The others kicked and moved away when the shark lunged.
Oceanic white tips have a history of attacking humans. Can’t say that this is very surprising.
