Inverter Station (DC to AC): The power factor can also be slightly lagging for similar reasons. The exact value of cos φ at the AC side is influenced by: Converter design. Filter and reactive power compensation. Operating conditions. In well-designed HVDC systems, the power factor at the AC side is usually optimized to be close to 0.95 to 0.98 lagging after compensation.

The graph of such induced voltages of all the insulators will show the health of the individual insulators.
