I have a question, how did you double expose using this camera? I’m new to film photography and all tutorials used are in conjunction with older, hand wound cameras. 😅
I read that i should not look at the view finder when it facing sun
yes you're not supposed to, but I do it anyway. I don't point it directly at the sun, usually just below it to get nice backlighting. :)
Nice but i wanted to hear the ejecting sound 😂
haha sorry! I'll make sure to include it in my next video. :)
I've never seen a long-legged romper before
lol, it's basically just pajamas that I allow myself to wear in public.
Love my FE2's (got one in chrome, the other black), and I think the regular Lomo Colour 400 is a very under appreciated film.
@@BillSmith1 agreed! I shoot Lomo color 400 more than any other film because it’s affordable and the colors are bright but realistic. I’ve actually been forcing myself to try out some other films lately because I was so stuck on Lomo Color for so long. 😅
@@BillSmith1 also I’m jealous you have the chrome version!
I love my FE2 . I have never had issues with it double exposing like that.. Maybe your winder is not working part of the time?
@@Jennifer_Prentice I actually create the multiple exposures on purpose. 😊 I think it’s fun to layer images and create something unique. There is a little lever near the winder that you can hold back while you wind and it will keep the film from advancing to the next frame. It’s one of the reasons I bought the Nikon FE2 over a few other cameras. You can check out my full review video of the Nikon FE2 if you’d like to find out more about creating multiple exposures with this camera. ✨
@@Jennifer_Prentice here is the link to my other Nikon FE2 video! th-cam.com/video/5NBJ7iKrkZg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4Aepx3i6Gmp9eZ7y
Thank you so much for sharing your travel report with us. There is nothing to say about the Nikon FE 2. It speaks for itself. The harboursite is so beautiful with it's castle. Of course creatitivity is causing hunger. Even at the risk of repeating myself. I love your sight for wunderful photos. Your double exposure pics are georgeous. The pic of you at the castle wall is so cool, if i may say that. And of course Chris made a wunderful portrait of you in Aveiro. Looking forward for your following reports.
@@christoph2718 thank you for your comment!✨ The Nikon FE2 is definitely one of my favorite cameras. The photos are so beautiful. Plus, it helps to be in a beautiful location for photos. 😊 Chris gets tired of me taking so many photos but I can’t help myself when I’m traveling!
Based of your listed arguments I really can comprehend why you purchased the camera for your mother and above all why you took it to portugal and the 5D Mark IV had to stay at home. Well considered decision. I think my benefit cost would have resulted in the same choice.
@@christoph2718 thanks so much for watching! I’m already thinking about how I’ll probably do the same thing for my next trip. 😊 It’s just so easy to carry around and the photos are impressive. I still prefer my 5D mark IV over it but for traveling the G7X Mark II makes so much more sense.
You have one of the most catchiest Intro’s ever !
@@TTatitalks thank you so much! It definitely gets stuck in my head all the time 🤣

Just thrifted this for $5 😃
Ohhh nice! I hope you love it! It’s a bit of a learning curve but it’s fun to mess with. I usually have to add quite a bit of sharpness to the images in post-processing, just fyi!
Hi there! Thank you so much for all of the gorgeous photos and information along with them. So inspiring and helpful. Quick question, I see the films listed are all coloured (or I may be wrong?), did you shoot on coloured film and then desaturate them in post? Or was there a black and white film that I missed? Thanks in advance! :)
@@bethsbresni5745 thank you so much for watching and for your kind comments! ☺️I know I used Neopan Across 100 b&w film for a handful of those images. This just came up in my feed and from 2 years ago. Nice photos. Love the rainbow light one. And the number one reason to get this camera that every film photographer youtube video forgets to mention when reviewing this camera. Drum roll please..... Is that is has a bulb setting to take long exposures on a point and shoot. I have 4 of these cameras. Love them.
thanks so much for watching! I haven't tried the bulb setting yet. I think I'm traumatized from accidentally setting some of my other film cameras on bulb without realizing it haha 😅 but maybe one day I'll try it out! I love that you have 4 of them!
This channel is soooo weird. I have to sub it.
hahah love it, thank you! <3
The beeeeeeeesssttttt
🥰🥰🥰
I found one of these at a flea market about a month ago for $5 (yes, that was the actual price, not a meme price). It's my first film camera in probably over 30 years, and I learned halfway through the first reel after getting back my shots that I needed to replace the light seals, which were non existent (I had fat white stripes on the top and bottom of the scanned negs). So not only did I get to come back to film, I also got a chance to learn how to replace light seals!
ohhh nice! $5 is an amazing price! I haven't had to replace light seals yet, but I also don't really mind light leaks. It does sound annoying though if it was giant white stripes on the top and bottom! Plus, it's always fun to learn how to repair vintage cameras! Thanks so much for watching! :)
Mamiya made a lot of DIFFERENT 645 cameras. That you did not specify which one you are talking about shows that you really don't understand this at all. It looks like one of the 645AF models (645AF, AFD, AFDii, AFDiii).
Feel free to go ahead and make a video explaining the different models. No one is stopping you. 🤷♀️
The intro!!! Gaaah!!!! 😍😍😍
@@experiFilm aww haha thank you so so much! ✨☺️🙌

@@deadlycreature3359 haha sometimes I can’t help myself! 📸
If you’re looking for a good inexpensive vintage camera to use, I highly recommend the Argus C-3!!! It was the most sold film cameras in the U.S., made in Ann Arbor Michigan. It is a great rangefinder with a crisp 3-element lens that takes sharp images. Those bricks are perhaps my favorite camera to use, and you can often pick one up online for well under $30. They were made from 1938 to about 1964z
@@pattonhorton2072 oh awesome! I’ll have to keep an eye out for that one! Thanks for watching and commenting! ✨☺️✨
Super helpful, esp. the tips about the tape and the cardboard! I'm a total newbie, do you have any recommendations about transporting the film to be developed? Like, is there any specific kind of container to bring it in, something to prevent light leaks? (Or like, any particular etiquette, or what to ask for or say at the film shop lol) Thanks!!:)
Thank you so much for watching! I typically just put all my film rolls in a plastic bag and then ship them in a box. But if you have loose rolls and are worried about light leaks, you can use a film storage canister or something similar to transport it in like one of these: amzn.to/3Xkqqzj - I always ask my film lab to ship back my film canisters and they always do! I use Citizens Photo in Portland, Oregon and they've never lost my film or anything like that. Plus, their prices are super affordable! I also make sure to write down what rolls I sent and how many, just to make sure I don't lose any too. Hope that helps! :)
@@camerasncats Thanks so much!:)
Film Photography Project in Ohio also sells 620 film, several different brands both color and B&W
yes! I typically get my 620 film from them because I'm too scared to roll 120 onto a 620 roll myself! Thanks for watching and commenting! :)
What a cute intro
@@Bill23231 thank you so much! ✨☺️✨
What lens did you use on the camera?
I have the 28-90 mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. It’s not the best lens in the world but it’s nice and lightweight and cheap! ✨ thanks for watching and commenting!
Ha ha. Forgot about that one. It was the universal kids/ family camera of the late 50s / 60s. Cheap enough that our parents would not have stressed out when we banged one up on vacation/ birthday party or Thanksgiving. Black & white was the norm, as color was a luxury because of the processing cost per picture. It mattered because some percentage of all pictures were blurred or just did not come out nice enough to keep. If you look for Disneyland Anaheim (before Florida was built) photos of the people you will see them and that other common Kodak, the built-in flash Brownie with the neck strap, in the crowd. The flash was a large add-on that we used sparingly because flash bulbs (usually Sylvania packs of 12 bulbs as I recall) were not cheap at Sav-On or any drug store/ camera shop. They flashed very hot and you had to wait a few seconds before popping the used one out.
@@Garyscott7 it’s so strange to think of it as an everyday camera. It’s definitely easy to get a blurry photo. I haven’t tried the flash yet but I really want to! That’s my next experiment. :) Thanks so much for your informative comment! I’ll have to look up some of those old Disneyland Anaheim photos! Thanks for watching! ✨☺️✨
@@camerasncats It was the common off the shelf technology for family use. And perfectly acceptable to most people for family and boyfriend/ girlfriend keepsakes. But back then we also had to pull out the vacuum tubes from our radios and staticie B&W TVs that acted up. Then test them down at the supermarket or drug store that had a tester and a cabinet of new ones to sell. Today such things are cheap and never break. Brownies were definitely not for any serious photography hobbyist or professional. But they also spent the money and usually had a darkroom to play in. All the way up to Ansel Adams very large formats and hours in the darkroom getting it just right. That was also 60-70 years before computers and robots with modern technology mass producing tiny things with incredible, repeatable accuracy. I look at something like an iPhone 14 or 15 and just marvel what goes on inside. Imagine what will be 60 years from now.
so funny that you just made this video as im just about to start trying to figure out how to use my first film camera and its the minolta hi-matic af2! would be cool to see how the exposures turned out
ohhh that's so exciting! I actually posted all of my favorite images from my trip using the Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 in this video: th-cam.com/video/G9asuwysfig/w-d-xo.html - I hope your first roll of film goes well! Best of luck! Thanks so much for watching! :)
@@camerasncats thank you I'll check it out
BandH carries 620 film so they do still make it. I use 120 film in my brownie bullseye. I modify spools of 120 film so it fits in the camera. Your photos came out nice.
Thank you so much! Yes, I believe I've seen 620 film on B&H too. I usually just order it straight from the Film Photography Project website, but I'm pretty sure they also sell their product on B&H. How do you modify the 120 spools? Thanks so much for watching and commenting! :)
I also have one, it came from Toronto with slightly markings. Shutter needs repairs as releasing it exposes the film again.
You guys are really cute. Or adorable, if you like.

Thank you so much! ✨☺️✨
Dear Myles. I wondered if you might have left your Canon 5d Mark IV at home. Normally there are some pictures during your adventures with it. It's in deed pretty heavy so you did well to reolace it with the GX 7 Mark II. The pics you presented us are speaking for itself. To bring a new polaroid you did as well right. I can't remember an adventure where you didn't have the holga with you. It's one of your favourite cameras. The Minolta Maxximum belongs to your favourite equipments during the time. I doesn't wonder that you have the Diana F with you. While presenting it to us you really seemed quite enthusiastic. Really nothing to you need about the Nikon FE2. All my best wishes to you for your next adventures.
Thanks for watching! The Diana F+ has definitely brought some excitement to my travels. It’s so similar to the Holga but has its own quirks. It’s been interesting to learn more about it! The G7X Mark II surprised me and I’m as happy with the results as I possibly could be! The problem is that I love all of the cameras and wish I could bring all of them with me all the time! ☺️☺️☺️
How many Holgas are too many? I have 8 so far & I only collect the limited edition ones/fun colours. 😭 people think I’m crazy & don’t understand why I’d collect a low-tech camera. 😅🤷🏽♀️ I would love a video on double exposures because you do the best I’ve seen from a Holga. You’re one of my favourite Holga photographers. Holga is how I got into photography.
Haha you can never have too many holgas! I won’t stop until I have every single color and model to ever exist. And then maybe a backup for each one too! 🤣
And thank you so much for the kind words about my work! I definitely do need to make a video about double exposures. I’ll try to make one soon! The Holga is really what pulled me into photography too. It has such a special magic to it! ✨
@@camerasncats my Holgas also have names 😅 LOL I generally like naming things. Holga made photography approachable, as I’m not naturally a visual artist. My brain is more attuned to music & sound. Holga’s “don’t think. Just shoot” motto really helped me as a beginner. I have no fine art background, I hardly understand compositional structures, but the simplicity of Holga made photography less intimidating. I’ve only been doing photography for a year & had my first Holga photo published in under a year. When people refer to Holga as disposable cameras, I get pretty knives out about it lmao I may have not mastered the Holga yet, but I have seen through your Art & Anna Starr, the magic & potential low-tech cameras can achieve. It’s honestly inspirational. Truly. I’m PNW based & finally got to meet Anna a few weeks ago & she is so lovely. I love what she is doing for Holga & for inclusivity of the art world.
@@camerasncats p.s. I look forward to the double exposure video. I don’t like that I’m such an overthinker. But I’m still learning & love to learn. Tbh, I think many people wing it with photography, but I’m such an analytical person & always have questions & approach things in ways that most people wouldn’t care to consider. 😅 I used to wing it in the beginning, but I now I want more intention & skill when shooting. I’d be curious to know your methods & how you approach double exposures. Things I’d want to dive deeper on with double exposures: -I’m experimenting with film speed. And keep in mind that I’m letting in light twice. I use filters over my lens to stop down on bright days. -when and when not to use flash etc -I often overthink layering exposures & which picture to take first. I’m always thinking of colours & how it’ll respond to light or less light. I want to practise using the greyscale when composing, b/c I’ve learned that the shadows/blacks in photos retain info & white kills info etc No one envies having my mind 😭 I know that some of my thoughts may be leaning towards technical, but these are things I think about, because I know that if I got this stuff down, I could have more growth & results I want to achieve. SORRY SO LONG. 🙈
@@BoxOfShockolates I totally get being an overthinker. I think that's why I love the Holga so much, because I can't get caught up in all of the features and settings of the camera like I can with more complicated ones. I would assume that my fine art background helps me with composition. And I think I just naturally see things in black and white. But it's definitely on my list to do a double exposure video soon and hopefully I can help answer some of your questions! 🌟

About a year ago if you asked me what was my fav 35mm camera I would have said one of my Pre War Exakta I tore down and cleaned and calibrated . I actually have two Pre War and one Post War VX copies and love them.. But I think its been about 6 months maybe or less that I have owned a Silver FE2 and I almost always shoot fully manual cameras anyway but the FE2s focus and the built in meter are great.. I can take that camera out without any meter and hand hold shots all day long and just love that camera.. The Nikon FE series cameras are great cameras .. I also have one of the latter models of that Maxxxum and hate the thing lol. I learned the hard way to leave the round button cell out of the back door or it burned the date information right into the photos :(.. I am sure there is a way to turn it off but taking the battery out was simpler lol. The over all menu systems and just trying to shoot the thing was annoying lol. I hate half press shutter systems and figured out how to focus and hold with the back button but just hated using it lol. But I can say the photos from it where very good.. I am sure I could get used to it with time but Just not my kind of camera :). And I love cats :)
Thanks so much for watching! The Nikon FE cameras are truly amazing. I’m so incredibly glad that I went with it over the Pentax K1000. And I totally understand your frustration with the Minolta maxxum lol. It probably has *too* many features and it’s easy to accidentally get it caught up in a weird mode. But I love the panoramic mode and the multiple exposures. I’ve never heard of the Exakta but I’ll have to look into it! ✨🥰✨
Dear Myles. If you where noting the Kodak Dulex was produced in 1947 ( it is 77 years old) i had to smile. My parents have been in the age of two years. So the Duaflex 620 is an early version of a Mediumformat camera? Looking from above on the viewfinder, Rollfilm. 620 Film means the Roll is made from Metal 120 Metal and wood if i am remembering right. I love black and white photos. They are cinveying a special atmosphere comparing to color photos. I agree with you a slow shutter is increasing the danger of getting blurry photos. Let me tell you that considering the risk, you took really great pictures. Above all the double exposure ones. I'm hoping your taylor swift concert was gorgeous.
Thank you so much! I suppose the Duaflex is an early version of a medium format camera. I think it was meant to be an everyday camera that anyone could use at an affordable price. It was essentially a point-and-shoot camera when it came out. I love the black and white photos too, though I'm excited to try taking color photos with it soon! Thanks for your comment! Taylor Swift was the best! :)
all great cameras :-) I LOVE the Fe2, its light but great. I'm a huge Holga girl. I didn't know there was a Minolta that did panoramic!!
Thanks so much for watching! I absolutely love the FE2 too. The photos are so stunning. And I become more obsessed with the Holga and Minolta Maxxum STsi every day!
What lens do you use on the Minolta?
Hi there! I use a 28-85mm zoom lens - I have the exact one listed in the video description because I think there are two different 28-85 lenses for it. Thanks so much for watching!
Neat! I recently got a roll back from shooting in my Duaflex IV, and I have another to finish in my Duaflex II. I need to make my vids about them, but I've got a couple others in the pipeline first (including my opening intro vid)...
oh fun! I have so many videos I want to make too... I'd love to see videos about the Duaflex IV and the Duaflex II! Best of luck!
Found this cos I just ordered one and want to know how to load it when it arrives, subbed just from the awesome intro
heck yes, thank you so much! I hope this video helps you out! Best of luck with your Holga! I have a full video about the Holga too if you need more tips! th-cam.com/video/s-2JoZ635xI/w-d-xo.html
Polaroid Land Camera. Cool!
Very good video. Love your work. You always get good pictures and have fun doing it.
Thanks so much! It's truly my passion in life! :)
20 yrs ago i used to roll 120 film onto 620 spools and use those old cameras and had great results!
Love it! I haven’t been brave enough yet to roll my own 620 but I’m thinking I should try it soon… ✨ Thanks for watching!
Groundbreaking! This video is a GAME CHANGER🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂❤❤
@@RUGBYmusic lol you’re ridiculous 😚
