The volunteers from Dumfries Initiative (supported by the Council) have been carrying out a power of work at Burns Close to improve our public realm. It’s a wonderful piece of marble sculpture and it would be a shame to see it erode to a pile of dust. One option would be to cast a replica for use outdoors and to make the current marble statue the centre piece of a Burns Museum on the High Street… Another option would be to create a protective canopy… I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions
