Trichotillomania
มุมมอง 67214 ปีที่แล้ว
this video is all about dealing with trichotillomania as long as my personal struggle with it. ( i realize i say "ya know" too much, sorry !)
Yeah well I feel the same way you girls do when MTV first released that episode about hair pulling I didn’t know what it was until I watched it and it was a wake up call for me. I didn’t know what I was doing. I didn’t know what to call it. I didn’t know anything about it until I saw the episode And I miss this episode they should hear it more often and as a reminder for people that pull like me I don’t pull like I used to by any means but sometimes I still do and then I watch the episode and I think through this is what you’re doing this is what you shouldn’t be doing you know try telling yourself that It’s like you said on the video two years later it’s like you have the angel and the devil on your shoulder it’s like what Emily said and the devil saying do it you’re fine in the angels like you’re gonna pay for this later so it’s like you’re fighting the good the bad and yeah it’s a pain in the butt
I mean, the girl has courage to do it I mean I didn’t know what I was doing until I saw this episode live on TV and then I figure out what I was doing and I said holy crap I have that I have exactly what she has
Hey Katherine I know you’ve ever heard of a thing called Trichotillomania. Well, I’m watching that exact episode that you talked about on MTV I have that too high I still pull sometimes but nothing like I used to.
There’s another P, it stands for paced breathing.
you are very brave and an inspiration. I know you feel its disguisting, I feel you look beautiful with or without the wig.
love your video. I have a favebook group and I share videos in it do you have more videos?
thank you so much! great video, helped me a lot :]
Hi Katherine, thank you for sharing your inspiring story. I recently came across your Tumblr and TH-cam channel (newly subscribed to both) and just wanna say what a brave and strong and beautiful and amazing young lady you are! I had a cystectomy surgery done 2 years ago to remove my left ovary and fallopian tube, my wound wouldn't heal so I had to get it stitched several times and when it finally healed I was left with keloids as well and recovery was a total torture, so I can't even begin to imagine how you must have felt in the hospital especially seeing that your wound is several times the size of mine. My keloids gave me a lot of trouble post-recovery; it was very tender and sometimes pain and itchy and it was sooooo hard to be positive in face of it so really hats off to you for your strong mentality. I understand that keloids affect people differently, just wondering how are yours doing after these few months and how are you coping right now? I do hope they do not cause you any more discomfort, and thank you once again for sharing your journey with us xx
Could you also share on how you began and managed to get back on track with your fitness and workout regime post-op in spite of the wounds and keloids, and how you dealt with the struggles you faced? You're really inspiring and I'm amazed at how you manage to overcome tricho, negative self-image and struggles with operation complications, to eating and exercising healthily and at the same time getting on to dean's list and managing a healthy social life. Please share more with us only if you are okay to <3
Damn. I couldn't breathe during this entire story. I just turned 20, I have 100lbs to go. I will need a surgery. How do you feel now? Was the surgery worth it?
this was good. Thank you.
You are soo brave!
Hi, I'm so glad I came across this video and your tumblr page. i had no clue about trichotillomania. I think my sister has this but she pulls hairs from other places. Thank you, I need to inform her to look onto this. You are inspiring, smart, well-spoken, caring, and beautiful! Keep going with your journey. p.s. you remind me of an actress....
People who have Trich can pull from lots of places including eyebrows, lashes, arms, legs and pubic hair as well as the scalp. If you want more information I suggest going to www.trich.org they have tons of info! Thanks for the view and the kind words!
You are so inspirational!
You are amazing Katherine. You have flourished like a beautiful butterfly! Well done on everything. You inspire me.
loved your vide.
And with makeup ?? Lol
so, you met her! i was trying get her to reply to you. id like to meet her. i am still starstruck every time she replies. peace.
Haha great footage.
Claire and Katherine! You are both wonderful, Katherine your video is GREAT!!! I am so proud of you. I have been through both the stage of cutting my hair and covering it. It depends on how bad the spots are. I know where you both are coming from. Please feel free to join our forum at Trich LLC at hairpullingdisorderhelp and watch my videos too. Janel
To be honest with you I think instead of covering your bald patches you should be open about it. I wish I had been at your age, but if course that's easier said than done. Either way, I'm here for you and I hope that helps! I believe in you Claire! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. You are a strong and beautiful young woman, never let trichotillomania hold you back!
Hey there Claire! It's nice to hear from you, though I wish it was under different circumstances :/ Thanks for the love! As far as covering bald patches goes, I'm an expert. One thing I used to do was wear my ponytail very high on my head to cover the big middle bald spot. If that doesn't work, make thick headbands your best friend!! Luckily for you, berets and beanies are in right now.
Thank you so much for posting this. Even though i do not have that condition, im sure this video helped so many people with the same condition as you. You are incredibly brave and strong for doing this! Stay strong! :)
you're so beautiful with and without your wig. don't let anyone ever bring you down <3
I pull my hair but its not like fist fulls like I just pull like one hair like you did when you started
You're stunning, honestly I like it better without the wig (:

You are so stunning, just the way you are and if other people tell you otherwise, ignore them. I wish you the best and i'm not sure you will read this, but, I hope you know how beautiful you truly are.
You're seriously beautiful without a wig. Don't be embarrased on how you look. You'e beautiful <3
You are beautiful.

i think you look gorgeous.
It's not disgusting, you're flawless don't ever forget it.
@adamk218 please go away . You're doing nothing but making yourself look like a fool and an ass.
You are sooo strong and beautiful and courageous!!<3
@adamk218 People like you make me sick. She is one of the strongest people I have ever seen, and if you can't see that you are just so stupid and mean. She looks beautiful with or without the wig.
you're absolutely beautiful, with out without hair, inside and out
no joke, i think you are one of the most beautiful people ive ever seen.. & dont let anyone tell you you arent.. i admire you for being able to do this. it takes alot. i wouldnt have the courage to do anything close to it. stay strong.
@adamk218 Yeah, he's 'invested in this girl's psychological well-being', but if you claim that it's a bad thing you're being hypocritical, as you too are commenting on this video regularly. The only difference is that you're trying to insult and hurt somebody that you don't know, whereas he's trying to defend somebody he doesn't know; I wonder who's the better person. You're an anonymous fool who hides behind the internet in order to comment on others flaws instead of facing your own.
