The John G Munson is a Great Lakes freighter hauling ore and other cargo since 1952. It shares many characteristics with its sister ships such as the Arthur M Anderson and Philip R Clarke which are both still actively sailing the lakes, as well as the Cason J Callaway which is in long term layup. These chips are of the “AAA” classification of boats. The Munson was built with a self unloaded, and for another company so while it isn’t technically a “AAA” class boat, it is often included in the group.
