Got into fly fishing about 7 years ago. I learned on a fiberglass rod and click pawl reel. I’ve never fished anything else since. I do have a graphite rod for a spare but don’t use it much. My Graphite Rod is exceptional with accuracy at a straight forward approach. However it never feels right for me. I’m stubborn I suppose.😂

Hi I'm watching this with great intentions of using this knot instead of the Palomar knot I've used forever, that knot is difficult to tie on small eyelet hooks. Doubling the line is to thick to thread thou a tiny eyelet. I'll practice this uni knot to become more accustomed to it. Thank you

Alerta: esse nó único (uni knot) é um dis que mais queimam a linha se bater peixe muito forte ou muito pesado, e por isso é essencial lubrificá-lo antes de finalizá-lo. Eu prefiro o nó clinch melhorado (Improved Clinch Knot) ou o nó de empate, ou ainda o nó trilene q é mais uma variação do clássico nó clinch, com qq um desses nós eu quase não tive problema.

I love the upgrades but wish they'd stayed with traditional Penn cosmetics. But then I also didn't like the gold trimming or red trim on other models very much either. Just love the classic Penn matte black that says work horse, not show pony.

The go to knot.. mono or fluro go hook or swivel.. easy to tie and stronger than most all simple knots nearly as strong as complex knots,. The uni to uni is a great mono to mono./fluro knot... The exceptions where I use something other than a uni .... Top water or light inshore lure fishing.. i use the Lefty kreh or Rapala loop knot .. not as strong as uni but the loop allows better action, and the tag end points back, so less weed snags than uni. Circle hooks, 3/0 and larger I snell ....which are the majority of bait hooks I tie on. Better hook sets and just as strong, but a little more complex to.tie on the water. That said.. beginner anglers would do well learn the uni ... uni to uni, and even the uni snell
