Kilfenora Cathedral, Co. Clare, Ireland
มุมมอง 47710 ปีที่แล้ว
Built on top of the site of St Fachnan's 6th century monastery that was built in 1058, the roofed part of the cathedral is used for occasional Church of Ireland services. Its exceptional acoustics have also made it an excellent venue for periodic concerts. A new steel and glass roof was erected in 2004 to protect some of the cathedral's chancel and fine stone carvings. Various of the famous 'se...

I visited St. John's Parish in September 2013. In 1854 the foundation stone of St. John's Church was laid on the site of a chapel dating back to 1780. Some artifacts of the 1780 chapel have survived - the Holy Water font, Our Lady of the Wayside statue, and the gables of the 18th century building, which are contained in the transepts of the present church. The building was completed, in 1861 wi...

Hi John. What wonderful memories this has brought back. I was a singer/actor in Dunguire Castle years ago and just loved being housed in the town and walking to work every evening to that glorious view, and performing to our guests in nightly and twice nightly banquets. Kinvara is indeed a little Brigadoon, it appears out the mist and enchants us forever. Great detail and editing on this John. King Guire would be proud of you.
no joke (fell free to not believe) but they are my very very very VERY great grandparents (so I have royale blood I gues)
The seat of my indoctrination during my childhood. Shame on them.

Thanks to your video I have now located the Carrowkennedy Monument, where my great grand uncle was wounded and died a few days in a hospital later in June 1921.
This brings back so many good memories of the week I spent traveling around Ireland. County Kerry is my favorite place on this entire planet

Hi Nick, I'm from the Family background too! I would very much like to know your connection. My family, is form Glenties, Menahalla. I hope, that means something to you. But, it would be nice to talk?
There is actually still an O'Donnell Laird. Lives in Dublin.
ardara co donegal ya mean.
Where exactly is this? ??
From what I read the Ross's that my Husbands family comes from, the name was carried on by a woman? Supposedly they all died out and she was the only one left and wouldn't take the name of her husband,so that the name could be carried on.
I'm a Ross by marriage,my Dad in-law said he received information on his family. However after he passed and we moved into the house,I was unable to find it. Would love to see the family history. He mentioned that his Grandfather George A. Ross was a carpetbagger from PA. We live in SC.
Wow: great pictures. Feels like I am there along side you.
I am glad you enjoyed.
Good Presentation,
Thank you.
Please give me information on St Patrick and St Bridgette Church Clane.. on their Viennese Christmas Program date and time for 2017.. do you have any videos on this program? Thank you
I am a direct descendant of the Clunies-Ross also namely Ross Clan of Scotland. Also directly related to the Clunies-Ross of the cocos keeling islands. I love anything and everything of my families history xox
why do they have a Ross in IE ? I though it`s only scottish
thanks for sharing. I'm a Ross, from my maternal great grandfather and his mother.
Jon , I did do five years in the army... I'm not surprised that the Ross were worriers, a lot of them breed with the local Cherokee when they came to the United States.
Jon thank you cousin.

George A. Ross married Laura Sweat and they had George Washington Ross who married a Liwauke Proctor, who I believe has N.A ancestry.
Well cut, nice background music...I was there in 2006.
Thank you.
Is it true it was nearly sold as a pub a few years back ?

Having captured driving videos, I can sure realise the difference b/w the video capture & the actual feel you had while driving on the back roads.
I enjoyed that. I was surprised to hear the GPS lady had an American accent. Thanks for uploading this. Peace.
Such a shame really. If things had gone differently way back when, the castle might have been in living condition today and hopefully the Dempsey family would still be ruling as lords there.

I suppose that hot tea will have to suffice...small price to pay ;) That sounds like a wonderful time, 5 whole weeks! I too would love to be able to visit Scotland as well while we are already so close. Where/how do you even begin planning a trip over there? I am trying to get as much information as possible via the Internet, and talking to those that have been, however I am still not sure where to start. I am also not sure how much money to plan on...there will be myself and Husband only. I am sure that in time I will get it all figured out, but at the moment I am feeling REALLY overwhelmed, haha.
I would like to help you if you like. I am Johnny, my email is, lojodrew@Hotmail.com I can send you what my plans were and how I layed out my daily plans.
john wilson That would be wonderful, thank you!!! My nake is Michele, and my e-mail is pinkirishlace11@gmail.com:)
Michele Penrod Name...not nake, haha ;)
This is absolutely beautiful! Makes me wish that I was on a flight for there at this very moment. Thank you so much for sharing...
I am glad you enjoyed the video. This was my first time out of the USA. I was in Ireland for 28 days, Drove a car for 15 days. I had a great time. Just no Ice tea and Dr. Pepper....
Oh no! No iced tea??? I could be in trouble ;) I have soooo much planning to do, and dont really know where to begin. Lucky you for being able to spend 28 days over there! I want to try to go for 21...I guess it will all depend on how much money I can save between now and then :)
I am a Dr. Pepper drinker and Bushmill, Dr. Pepper is very hard to find. and only hot tea.... This coming Sept. I'm hoping to be able to be in Ireland and Scotland for 5 weeks. I am planning my trip now, My father with be with me for the first 2 weeks. I'm putting together a tour for my Dad, a Main itinerary, Accommodations and Highlights per location. If you have $4000.00, In Ireland the money is worth 2800.00 euro
What ever happened to the original tribe of the O'Kellys
it is so cool to see family history like this thank you.
Darell Dempsey I am glad you enjoyed watching.
yeah they sided with the English solders
That was deadly boring, but parts of it brought back memories of the numerous times I have driven that route. I always like getting closer to Cahersiveen and seeing the ocean and the town coming up. It is calming to me. We love it down Kerry way.
What is at 0:55? Tomb? Thank you for the tour!
very nice
Agree.
that was great Johnny, it is like we were in a dream so long ago now..
Johnny are you going to post more like this, if so when. Can't wait to see them.
Hi Johnny, that was very well done. Can't wait to see it for myself.
