I think Shane McGowan is well deserving of all the acolades he has and will achieve in the future. The problem I have is with small minded interveiwers who try to make their mark by destroying someone who is twice their equal. This interviewer should be sacked immediatly and sent to the salt mines "somewhere" absolute moron. The reason he is interviewing Shane is because He is someone and the interviewer is nobody

I feel sad listening to Shane but also in awe of what he says and how he answers the stupid questions with brilliance mixed with humility. Reminds me a little of Brendan Behan, another troubled but brilliant mind and genius, though Behan had undiagnosed, uncontrolled diabetes that was often mistaken for drunkenness, he suffered diabetic comas that damaged his brain. Behan was in bad shape in the pub interview and died a few weeks later, but his wit and intelligence still shone through. Another genius, very sad.

The guy was who he was and made his way through life through absolute Honesty.. he did what he did and was a legend.. rest in peace brother...
