DMX is expensive! This'll easily cost you $5000
Na, this cost me like £200 for the lights and the DMX is an entec USB controller with Freestyler DMX... Looking about £400 max with cables etc.
@@GrahamSmart Oh, neat. Are the lights reliable? Cheaper movinghead options are often slower, stuttery, loud, or very unreliable.
@@quackoramic Had them about 4 years now and seem to be reliable. I've had to change all the internal fans because they were dying. But yeah mostly good. (good enough for a kitchen lol) - Older versions of these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384515599071?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20220705100511%26meid%3D2ad035efb7d041ca99f6f86610168a4a%26pid%3D101524%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D384515599071%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2%26brand%3DU%60King&_trksid=p2380057.c101524.m146925&_trkparms=pageci%3Ae5cc95d2-a14c-11ed-82a0-224a19b08a89%7Cparentrq%3A073d7f541860a6451a09157cfffb3946%7Ciid%3A1
@@GrahamSmart Thank you for the information! I will definitely look into this solution.
What mounting brackets did you use, I want something exactly like this but to hold 7kg heads.
They are simply shelving brackets like below. www.diy.com/departments/form-alchimy-steel-shelving-bracket-h-200mm-d-150mm/3663602764588_BQ.prd
Love this, what lighting controller are you using?
Its Freestyler DMX running on a microPC with an Entec Open DMX USB Adapter.
@@GrahamSmart excellent. What made you do this I'm doing similar in my kitchen but only have space for two. Going for the equinox midas spot
@@richardc1983 Throw a lot of parties :) Link to the build itself if it helps.: www.freestylersupport.com/fsforum/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=8380
@@GrahamSmart Looks amazing. How easy is it in freestyler to create circle movements or figure of 8 etc?
@@richardc1983 very. it has pre build in movement system, so you can draw a pattern and it follows it. No need to set positions and have it run through positions. I create separate cues for movement, gobos and colors. Then i enable the ones i want, say figure 8 with changing gobos and say blue color etc. Quite easy once you get used to freestyler.
Which remotre app did you use and do i need something else exactly for programming those dmx lights like this? Thanks in advance!
