I love FB for its themes of love and second chances. But what it does WELL that makes it stand out is PUNISH characters for their beliefs. I find alot of copycat shoujo failed to encapsulate that. Tohru was punished plenty for her belief system, so were the others yuki, kyo, akito, all the sohmas. While most changed, some didnt (shigure for example) but i really like how the show is so HUMAN. it treats its characters like people, not characters. that's why we empathize sometimes doing thw right thing punishes you and sometimes it rewards.
@@MrEvldreamr You nailed it! The show is very much human. I didn’t consider the punishment element so thanks for sharing that. They definitely got punished for their beliefs (poor Tohru especially).
@@LivLaNina tohru is an interesting case to me bc she uses kindness as a survival mechanism and i dont think ive ever seen an anime character use it wuite as effectively as she did . for most of the show we think its out of pure goodness. Tohru admits later on that she hated her dad for dying and only adopted his mannerisms so her mom would come home (i have kids and one of the saddest things ever is a child blaming themselves for not being enough to make you happy, so i completely get why tohru behaved like this) but then when her mother died anyways a decade later she blamed herself for not waking up and telling her to be safe (so she hates herself for selfishly sleeping in which is why from that point onward she never ever complained to anyone about anything and just became a people pleaser whod get abused as much as she was respected) Its like, idk how to even explain it. Tohrus character is sooo wel written the older i get, bc you see ppl like her all the time

Fruits Basket is more than just an anime it’s a profound emotional journey that took me through laughter tears joy and even moments of anger It became a cure for my heart when I felt lost and believed there was no good left in the world Through its beautiful story unforgettable characters and the powerful bonds they shared, it reminded me that kindness, love, and hope are still out there waiting to be found It showed me that even in the darkest times light can shine through and that is a message I will carry with me forever. Sorry if I wrote to long I just wish people can see how much this anime is amazing ❤
