Dude you are overthinking the fence , don't plant trees too close to the lake because they will cause chod . Nobody will care about the fence if you just leave it alone , save yourself some expendature .

Don't plant trees, the roots will eventually breach the clay barrier and your lake will leak again.

your fishery is realy comming along. one question though. At 5:50 you mention a pipe that conects the open ditch to the pool and goes under the otter fence. whats to stop an otter getting through the pipe?

So 2 things to consider with your tree planting. Firstly the roots will be drawn like magnets to your subsurface drainage which can cause a huge amount of headaches, secondly you want to avoid cutting off the wind because it'll harm the natural oxygenation of the pond. Connected to the 2nd point you'll also get the autumn leaf fall ending up in the lake which will create silt build up and send the bacteria mad which can cause low oxygen events (the bacteria consumes oxygen as it digests the organic matter) and nitrite/nitrate build up which will lead to algae blooms (if you're not monitoring nitrate/nitrite/phosphate/ammonia levels I highly recommend you do, full spectrum test kits are about £30). I know you've got an oxygenator but you don't want to rely on it all the time if you can avoid it. As the manager of a 2 acre tree lined estate lake I know these problems all too well and it can get really sketchy at times, I'm currently in the process of removing tons of trees and overgrowth because I'm tired of dealing with the problems they cause despite loving how they look.

Love this channel… as a carper many moons ago work, marriage and kids got in the way of fishing. Love Kev’s pool but honestly I think it’s too small to be a commercial fishery. But hold on this might take a minute. What if you turned this into a fishing celebrity lake. Well known fishing personalities are given 24/48 hours on the lake and using it as a TH-cam video channel ? Who blanks, lake record, most catches etc. A entrance fee or prize fund and at the end of the year a nice contribution given to a national fishing charity or the disabled or disadvantaged children. Sorry to ramble on but the channel you have has stared to get me wanting to get back into fishing after a 25 year gap. Thank you
