As a mom of a sophomore daughter, good job! You’ve done really well with the research you’ve done. I reccomend getting a mattress pad that’s at least three inches thick- cooling-from Amazon. Price does equal quality with those. So you use a zip around mattress cover, then the pad, then put the topper over the top of both, then the sheets. If you don’t have deep pocket sheets, you will need sheet suspenders so your sheets don’t pop off or slide around. Don’t buy and iron. You won’t use it. You WILL use a steamer. You’re also going to want to pre-wash your bedding. Whether you wash it before you move, or right when you get into your dorm- you’re not going to want to lay down on stiff stinky sheets and comforter. You also want to put together a shoe box sized bin of cold meds, Tylenol, (all the things). Cause you WILL get sick. Get some tissue boxes, a couple rolls of paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, napkins and plastic utensils. Lysol wipes and spray, and also all the cleaning supplies you need to clean your bathroom- toilet cleaner and brush, windex wipes, shower spray and scrub brush. You also NEED a little vacuum cleaner. Either hand held or a stick vac. And broom, dustpan. Or a swiffer. Get some collapsible fabric bins to help you organize your laundry soap and dryer sheets, as well as your cleaning supplies, and zip locks bags, and trash bags in your closet on the shelf. A rug is also helpful (it can be small). Desk/ school supplies, a laptop, and desk organization are also good. Drawer organizers or plastic trays. And keep in mind you need something to hang your curtains up with. We used a curtain rod hung onto two super large command hooks. If you have a bathroom you probably will also need rugs or bath mats, a shower curtain and rings, and curtain rod. I picked up a small two tiered tray shelf for the bathroom counter to help hold all my daughter hair products and tooth brush etc, and it was really helpful for her. You can’t do candles, but you CAN do plug in air fresheners. Something to think about purchasing. An electric kettle, microwave, and fridge you will also use. My girl also got a mini dash rice maker and used it in her room all the time.

This is indeed very heartwarming and very wonderful and very beautiful and very helpful and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).
