November Portal Excursions
มุมมอง 16หลายเดือนก่อน
There’s a time portal at the lagoon. “November” is just a temporal construct, but it describes when the visual media was created. The original music is a “sonic study.” My former students will understand. Please use a darkened room, full screen HD, and big speakers or good headphones. ... or not. Elk River Slough with DOA Humboldt 11-2-2024
มุมมอง 19หลายเดือนก่อน
The DOA Humboldt crew rode the high tide up Elk River Slough on 11/2/2024. It was a spectacular day with good friends. The group photos were provided by Phil Gutierrez and are used with his permission. I originally composed this piece of music for "A Sanctuary Forest Hike" published back in August of this year. I gave myself permission to reuse this original music here. Please use big speakers ...
Bodega Bay
มุมมอง 50หลายเดือนก่อน
Scott Willits invited me to join him chasing bluefin tuna offshore out of Bodega Bay on Oct 25.. It was a first time experience for me. I jumped at the opportunity and I had a blast even though the tuna evaded us. We drove down on Thursday afternoon in his pickup/camper towing his 21' Striper powerboat. We camped out overnight, then launched the next morning at sunrise and spent from dawn until...

ROCKFISH
มุมมอง 573 หลายเดือนก่อน
Kayak angling along the Lost Coast near Cape Mendocino is one of the most spectacular adventures around. This summer I was lucky enough to be included on two guided Cape trips with “Loleta Eric” Stockwell on August 22nd and 31st. It’s a challenging trip, launching and landing from the beach, through the rocks and the surf zone. Conditions are dynamic and I will only do this trip with a professi...

Hi David - Nice vid. I added this to the river otter dataset. ;) Jeff
An incredible event every year!
Hey Dave, thanks for this fabulous video! I love the original music you composed for it!
Looks like a fantastic day on the water. I like the music...

Great video. I never fished at Humboldt Bay, but I hope to get an opportunity soon.
That dog is looking nervous. Great tune!
Now there's a name I haven't heard from in a while and I'm happy to see. Retirement is AWESOME!
@@dbradfield Yes sir. Looks like a really fun time and a solid crew for sure. Cheers !
Hi Dave, This Mike. We met today 12/30/23 at Stone Lagoon. Enjoyed talking with you today. Hope we can fish together another day. Your music is outstanding! It goes to “New Age” music I currently am listening to. Look forward to hearing more from you!!!
Hey, Mike! I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Not all of the music I do is "Gnu Wage" though some of it certainly gets that label. For a complete change find my video "Northside" Also one I just put up "Psalm for the Solstice" -- Great visiting with you today. Hope you can come back on a day when the bite is on.
Very good!
Woohoo…. That’s me at 2:04
Lovely, and expressive of the peaceful waters of Stone Lagoon.
Atmospheric and tonally rich!
Ahh, the magic of 7. very nice.
Thanks, Tommy! Leave it to a good drummer to notice. You're the first one to notice. Thanks!
Saw two lil fry exactly like this go by at the swimming hole on the Eel at Frank and Bess Smithe Redwoods on 101 yesterday. They were driven away by a large school of vicious sticklebacks.
Love this!!! See you all soon, Barry & Louisa
Nice! It's cool that you caught the bird calls...
Those are Red Tailed Hawks that you filmed, and I do believe they are a mated pair based on the interaction you were describing between the two. Very nice job on providing the full story about these hawks!
Thanks for the help on the ID. I'm told that the larger one, the "loudmouth" is the female.
The reason why this loudmouth is the female is because she is the most territorial, since she makes the decision over the area that both hawks are hunting in. She will fly off first if she feels threatened, then the male will follow afterwards.
That's fascinating and explains all the behavior I observed. Thank you so much.
Love the ending!
Beautiful! And I caught a little Hammond organ vibe in the middle-took me back to my childhood church days. 🤣
Hammond cheese on rye.

beautiful cure for the desk laden fisherman
Just visited this spot with my daughter on our trip to the redwoods. Love Stone Lagoon. What a beautiful place.
Nicely done. I love the Osprey quotation marks.
And you are 100% correct on the species. I was able to see that beautiful red tail as this hawk made his entrance!
Great blowhole shots.
Just Beautiful
Beautiful!
Loved it - well done!
Otter City!
Tubular.
I also used to fly this aircraft and others out of Hart Air!
Love nature
Cool, an otter space movie.
Great job, David!
what was the length of that fish?
Brilliant! Richie, your reed must run away from you after such a workout but you were great and it was fun. You and I were oboe cherubs together at Northwestern in the summer of '74. Raymond
