Thanks for the review on your classic FX rig. Just for fun I recently picked up a couple of FX rigs from my local craigslist. I have PCs all over the house, I mainly use the one in the kitchen when Im cooking and eating, and the PC that I use the most is the one in the living room for similar reasons as u have mentioned. I use the couch mainly to watch movies but when I play video games or do online shopping or checking email what I found worked best for me is to roll up my portable standing table and drafting chair and I bring it all the way up to the TV, I then plug in my wired mech keyboard and mouse. When my buddy comes over I have several wireless xbox controllers and we might play some of the couch coop games I have installed. For sound in the living room I highly recommend setting up a Home Theater AV Receiver with 2 speakers in front 2 speakers in the rear and a nice big strong Dedicated Subwoofer that bumps. The Home Theater Sound System makes a world of difference when your watching movie and playing video games. If you live alone thats when you can really enjoy the Subwoofer and nobody is telling you to lower it LOL. 👊😏

10:21 - Couldn't agree more, in ye olden times bespoke builds (and bespoke watercooling setups) were super unique and I loved browsing the various overclocker forums just to ogle the neat stuff people tried. Nowadays every PC looks like those on Reddit, dual chamber, AIO, blinged out, what have you. You put out banger content, man! Subscribed.

Nice build. Look great! Fun fact... The FX 9590 was actually the *fastest CPU back in 2013 (*stock turbo frequency 5 GHz). Not the highest performing though.

Always appreciate when people get the most out of some of the older architectures. But that case - I've never seen it before. It's absolutely beautiful. Now I want that case...

I got one of the last 5600X3D to be sold for $199 saved $80 over the 5800X3D. Runs ice cold with a $28 Thermalright Phantom Spirit dual tower/fan cooler (improved Peerless Assassin). Idles 27c, games 45-63c, all core stress test 69c, always at max clocks, never throttles. I get around 5% slower than 5800X3D on average using MSI X3D boost Kombo Strike and 4X8 3200Mhz duel rank RAM config. A 2600X/5600XT build to 5600X3D/6750XT upgrade, the performance gains are nuts, over 100% in most games and overall much faster system with room for several GPU upgrades. So worth it.

The only motherboard that was available when I built a system with that cpu was the Gigabyte FX990 Gaming...I put a Thermaltake Water 360 AIO on it and was very happy with the performance. I sold the cpu and motherboard but still have the AIO cooler!

Very nice build! I like the case, also glad to see someone else using 2400mhz kits as most benchmark videos using this cpu always use low speed kits. I have my doubts about the gpu though, I was thinking a 1660 super is really the limit for this cpu. You could check with MSI Afterburner + Rivatuner ingame to see how much it's using the CPU / GPU. But great video!

Its funny how the casuals talk about how the fx series is totally obsolete and un usable. Jays2cents did a videos using a fx 6100 and said it would still perfectly usally. Hell its people(myself include) who think the original quadcore 775 are still usable. 9590 is a very strong cpu. Performance wise anyone who has one would be happy with it. Only insentive too go with somthing more modern is too pretty much get the same performance but more efficiently

Recently sold one of these in a storm trooper case. Dark rock 4 and a 200mm fan up top. X3 intake 120 at front/bottom and a rear exhaust. ASUS M5A99FX R2 motherboard. HX1200i. Rx 580 Aorus. Somebody offered me £400 so I said yes. Was a big beast of a machine was sat in the corner for years at that point. Can't remember the oc but it was chasing records. Too many projects and too little room sadly.

I remember buying my old FX 9590 when it was first released, I cooled it with a custom water loop that had a radiator bigger/ thicker than yours. It had six fans on the radiator in a Push/ pull configuration, absolute Beast running X Plane because it was my Boeing 737NG simulator. I kind of wish I hadn't sold it, because it was a good part of AMD's history.

If you run Linux on this you would be surprised at how fast old CPUs like this can actually be in games and everything else. I did it as a test and got insane results, in most games I was getting more than DOUBLE the FPS rate I would get in windows.

Super cool and clean FX rig, man. As you commented down below, you are correct as one should not build something like this today as $/performance is insane (or have big D cash to throw out the window) if you tried but it was a build from years back that grew with time. I have an fx 8300 (@4Ghz/gtx 960) chilling at one of my TVs as well but was my #2 build from '15 as is 1 of 6 pcs. Best of luck with the channel, man

I remember when the FX-8150 was released, I was disappointed and ordered a Phenom II X6 1055T after I saw the reviews. So I skipped the whole FX series myself.

I bought this monster CPU yesterday for 7$. Yes. No mistake.

This case still looks nice! Alan Wake 2 is also another title that pushes current hardware to it's knees.

Bro... this is how all lower end chips work. they look at the quality of a chip and if its a xxx9 they bin it as a xxx9 if not they bin it the tier lower etc etc. it's not "ewaste".

Nice to see this older generation tech still being put to use. It is indeed a clean build. Wish there was a way to polish acrylic. Id still have one of my older cases if it wasn't for the plexi scratching so badly.
