One of my favorite tips you've given is to dab the brush on the bottom of the water jar to get the paint out of the brush. I too find swirling the brush in water just doesn't do it.

Still working my way through these but getting there...9 more little art pieces of F-U-N!!! I can't wait to go through them again and keep practicing. "Perfectionist Diane" showed up and was a little snarky about my weird looking shadow "puddle" thingy. Then I could hear Audrey in my head saying "it's ok, it's just a little cupcake" and then I was easier on myself!! My back went out today...which means I can't sit but standing to paint feels okay for now, argh.

I had a breakthrough with this one. I was able to visualize the lines going around the spherical shape to give it dimension. Also, I went slightly off trail a little and really liked the results. Feels like a brain massage. I understand now why art is used as therapy. So anyway... I'd say you are a great teacher!

Hi Audrey…I am late to the party and just started today. I used to watercolor a long time ago but then life got in the way. I finished Kelli Blouin’s inktober challenge and when I say your watercolor challenge, thought I would pick that up for November to get back into the swing of things. I might need to replace my burnt sienna and red ochre, the colors don’t seem to be bright anymore. But all the rest of my supplies are still in good shape. I love that you are doing the paintings in small size almost the size of a zentangle tile, makes me feel like it is doable. One of my cats, Mini, did walk across my pallet although she missed stepping in the puddles of color.

I love this colab. I use rock salt on watercolour as that makes it bloom too.

Audrey…it has been a really long time since I have done any water color but i pulled out my yarka set and gave it a try. It was nice to have something that seemed simple enough and easy to finish in one setting. Part of the reason why I don’t do watercolor is that it often just took me too long to finish anything and nothing was ever simple so I had stuff sitting out and the cat walked thru my paints and onto the carpet. This was nice to give it a go and be finished in a short amount of time.
