Are you affiliated with silhouette? Do you like the cameo 5 over their previous machines ( if you have any of their previous machine)? Can you cut faux vinyl with the electrostatic mat? Can you use the older mats with the cameo 5? I’m trying to decide if I should buy a silhouette machine and if I should get the 5 or the 4.

What are the settings for this? Every time I cut my without a mat it would come off the sheet and get in the way of the rest of the cutting which then messes up the entire paper. I also tried less force and it doesnt pop out as flawlessly as yours.

I would say that the blade depth would be set to 2 or at the most 3, because when the blade is doing a sharp turn when set to deep, it will mess up the paper. I cut 250gsm paper with the blade set to 2 and it cuts everything really good, but when cutting several sheets of paper the blade will get dull very fast and those blades are not really cheap. But it's a neat feature to cut paper on your Cameo 4. Thanks for the video.. :D

i love that you still posted the video even after making mistakes, because we all make mistakes and i feel people are too afraid to post their mistakes! i dont work with vinyl/heat vinyl but would it had made a difference if you layered them before heat pressing it? also i dont think you noticed it, but when the text jumped from black to green, the pt size changed back to the original size, and thats probably why it was harder for you to line up the 3d look.

I just got my cameo 5 yesterday. Legacy user so I jumped in and tried the mat-less cutting. roller broke on 2nd cut. I knew it was a possibility from the manufacturer defect... but still sad. Company I purchased form is replacing immediately. It was amazing while it lasted and will be again when I get the new machine

Got my brand new Cameo 5 yesterday. Legacy user so I started to play right off the bat to see the new cool upgrades. Roller broke 5 minutes in. :( Now I have to wait for the replacement.

Just started and realized I didnt have the right size envelope- could not line up or overlap- I dont think I hold down the correct keys.

Do you keep the zip files after they are extracted on your hard drive or your removeable drive?

You should try with the cover closed during the registration process. Got better results on mine with print and cut when i close it.

How did you get measuring lines on your ES mat?

I find the silhouette doesn’t cut certain shapes very well so I would keep my die cuts you get a very clean cut.
