I was borne in Bohol. Since I was 16 yrs. old, I have lived in Cebu, where there are persons with family name Legaspi. In Spain, Legaspi is a rare family name. In 2015, my son treat his Ilocano/Tagalog-speaking fiancee from Northern Luzon to a tour of Bohol, with me as de facto tourist guide. While viewing the Sikatuna-Legaspi artwork (Blood Compact Monument), I jokingly quipped to them, as their tourist guide "There is your great great great grandpa". I was pointing to the figure shown sitting at the center, because the maiden name of the mother my wife is surnamed Legaspi.
