Trailblazer Body Swap Won't Start Electrical Ground Problem Solved
I found this solution to why my chevy trailblazer to c10 body swap project would not start once I had disconnected the wiring harness from the body. The three grounds from the A11 and B11 BCM pins were no longer grounded. Hopefully this helps others who are trying to use the GMT360 platform like the gmc envoy, buick rainier, oldsmobile bravada, isuzu ascender, and saab 9-7x.

Splashing the Project Trawler for the first time in 20 years
มุมมอง 13K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Putting the 1985 Outer Reef 26 in the water for the first time in 20 years! After spending 2.5 months cleaning up the boat and getting the fuel system reliable the hard work paid off. The boat has an Izuzu C240 60hp engine and we did some speed and function testing on this day. Check my other videos for initial boat condition, work done to the boat, and eventually how it's getting used.
Starting the Project Trawler for the first time in 10 years
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Working out the kinks of a boat that's been sitting on the trailer for 20 years and not started in the last 10. It's a 60hp Izuzu C240 which is stamped QD60 on the engine. The Boat is a 1985 Outer Reef 26 trawler. Hopefully this video will show some of the common problems and fixes in restoring an old diesel trawler. This video shows the procedure for bleeding the fuel system and hydraulic stee...

Changing from Curtis to Evnetics Soliton Jr motor controller. Battery configuration change, programming the new controller, and finding the weak links in the wiring. The old EV swapped Ford 9n gets better as it goes.
1 Year Update using my DIY Electric Tractor

I go over some of the good and the bad with the Ford 9n EV tractor conversion I completed last year. I still use the tractor regularly and plan to keep modifying it to be a better tool.
DIY 5 Ton Gantry Crane

Outer Reef 26 Trawler Project - Initial Walkaround
มุมมอง 23K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a glimpse at the project we got ourselves into! This boat has great potential and we're cleaning it up from sitting over 20 years. It'll need the same cosmetic fixes as the sailboat we just restored like paint and cushions. Mechanically it'll be more complex as there are more systems, but we're up for the challenge. There is not much information on these boats as there were only a few p...

GOT THE BATTERIES FOR FREE? OMG!
Gotta try to get you to 1k followers bud!
Also in case you need a bigger hood, package drop off / postal lockers make a nice replacement and are regularly scrapped if graffitied or just decommissioned.
I recommend welding cables. Relatively cheap compared to any solar / DC cables for other purposes and high quality.
lookd great but...a BMS would be agreat idea, and paraleling all cells together with balance wires
What kind of boat is that?
@@johnmango3347 Outer Reef Marine 26
@stevenmurphree cool boat
Where did yoy come up with 5 ton from?
@@mr.picklesworth deflection of rated beam and my total guess.
@stevenmurphree if I had to guess I would say 5 tons would put the deflection of that been well past the what overhead cranes are allowed.
Met bill last night .. hell of a specimen. Great meeting you sir !
Did I see a Pullmax at 2:57?
lol. 😂 you need a friend to drive your tractor?
😂 I was wondering if I’d be able to do a wheelie with an electric tractor. Mine has a front end loader so probably not.
Awesome! Thanks for a practical post.
I’d recommend putting the cooling block on the bottom. Also the sunlight kills those cheap screens.
@@RetroElectric thanks. I wound up going to a different motor controller and liquid cooling setup.
@@stevenmurphree awesome did you post any of those newer video updates of it?
About to do mine I think.
"Ethernet into my 9n" was not a scene I was expecting to see today! Thanks for talking through the tractor pull result.
Hey, it doesnt look like youve done an update on the tractor in a while, but i was wondering if you have any photos or video showing how you made the linkage between the motor and the tractor transmission?
Unfortunately, I moved to a home it doesn't make sense to keep the tractor here, so it's stored at a family farm. I used the factory clutch disk and a pre made motor shaft to 6 bolt adaptor to fit the two together.
you def have the mk6 golf dash. check out pro clip usa they have a nice phone mount for the jetta sportwagen. the rennline mount is for a regular jetta sedan
30 years ago we commonly referred to the Curtis controllers as "Curse-It" controllers. Surprised they're still around!
Watch out for those crocodiles
Great video. I recently bought a Sovereign 23 and trying to setup a mast raising system like the one in video. How’d you get the Boom to attach to the mast? Special bracket?
Yes, I fabricated one from steel
Thanks! You should patten it and make a kill’n!
Which beam do yo use?
I think it was H beam 8w28 or so?
@@stevenmurphree thank you!
Do you have videos of the conversion process? Or a link for where you learned how? Concept makes sense to me but unclear what to wire to where, etc.
the best how about ,steerable king pin on one end with removable steer tie rod ,tow rod, and put a jib rig on top for 2500 ,side lift ,looks great and it is.
I had a 1984 Isuzu diesel pickup truck, and those engines are bulletproof. I hope you are able to get it back in decent shape.
Yeah we did a trip in the FL keys this winter and are still slowly improving it.
Great job! What have you been working on lately/next? tHanks
Boats, race cars, and a hacked together spin bike trainer. Maybe I should post the spin bike trainer.
Very helpful....When you mentioned a deeper base and how the castors limited you to inside use......that got the ideas flowing. tHanks for the video!
Very good job, Steven. Thanks.

Looked like a great way to ring in the New Year!
Looks like a fun trip. Especially mangrove kayaking.
Brilliant! On the West Coast of Canada we have that vessel known as the Idenpendence Shipwright 25 (IS25) I've been looking for one for years!
Did you finish this boat? Would love to see a video? Are you keeping our selling it? Interested to see any progress. Super cool boat.
We've done several river trips with it, but finished is a tough word for any 40yr old boat. We have more trips planned!
Another video would be great to see interior and exterior upgrades! Super cool boat!

DIY Gantry Crane - TH-cam It is carried on the trailer, straddling the cargo area, and is mounted on wheels with a ramp on the sides of the trailer. Operates independently of the trailer, and can have a simple rotary gear plate, welded onto the wheel hub, with an electric motor mounted on the side for electric locomotion. Must have clearance for the wheel wells for easy storage and mounting on trailer. Also, different sized tubes for vertical posts, so that the height of the crane can be adjusted. And, an adjustable attachment pole, with the appropriate multiple pulleys attached, to use the lift to raise and lower height adjustment when necessary.
It looks more like 15 tons😂😂😂
If you would clean the boat, engine and bilges, any leaks will be immediately apparent, and you won't get crap in the guts of engine, steering, trans, and etc.
The hand pump is for bleeding air out of system either you have an air leak or weak lift (low pressure) fuel pump.
Turn key to LEFT 30 seconds to heat glow plugs, then right to start.
Man im in a lifted excursion and have a trawler im building.
Awesome Video my friend i picked up an grantry but the wheels were for an rail road i do in matter of fact have some dodge grand caravan wheels and tires i will just have to find an way to mount them to the grantry i do have 3 wheel bearing i can use
Cool project would love to see an update.

Time machine. From history to the future
Please, don't let us without further episodes. It's going to be an amazing story.
I've taken some video in the last year but never edited it. We hope to do another trip in May and I'll post an update after that.
Take your time but keep continuity. I strongly suggest to arrange for the best, all that frankenstein wiring and equipment I could see, to increase reliability. All that vintage radar stuff take too much space and deck visibility. The same functions are now integrated on a single tablet. However, redundant key equipment will be allways greeted. Could be the A/C be restored?
Don't see that everyday
How's your progress on the trawler going? Would you ever be interested in selling it?
I spent the last 6 months moving houses and shops so zero progress. Plan on having it ready for the lake and further TN river trips in May (did 100mi test trip last may). No plans to sell at the moment.
Are you doing this again this year?
Yes! I've actually been thinking about doing a couple updates for a video in April.
My 1984 Sovereign had the full length doghouse, and that provided enough room for an enclosed head(!!!). Sovereign offered several layouts.
Did you feel that this was a direct replacement for a whole 4 hp gas motor?
Never had a gas 4hp so can't really compare.
That boat is ready for Alaska!
Fun story. Found a twin to this boat in Guntersville, Alabama that was trailered from AL to WA and then made it to Alaska by water. That would be an incredible trip!
@@stevenmurphree . Last, last summer, 2021, I bought a 32 ft sailboat and went to Alaska on it. I didn't even have boating experience, let alone sailing. LOL. No real issues though. Amyway, next time I'll do it on sometype of trawler.
