Steve Beckwith, a Master Maine Guide, Owner of Maine Hunters TV and New England Outback Network on Roku. He has devoted his life to teaching others about the great outdoors, currently Steve owns The Attic Lodge Outdoor Learning Center in Lebanon, Maine teaching a Maine Guide School and operates his Guided Hunts Business! Steve started MaineHunters.com back in 1999 online, when only website developers knew how to put hunting photos on the internet, back when trail cameras used 35mm film that had to be developed in a lab and then scanned with a flat bed scanner to be able to upload using a FTP uploader to his website, MaineHunters.com which featured Maine's first website that displayed photos for sportsman from Maine and all over New England! Today this seems so long ago, with idiot proof websites and social media sites like Facebook, today Steve and his team creates videos for TH-cam, Vimeo and Streaming TV on Roku devices! 2024 - New Live Streaming of Wildlife Cams in the Backyard!

The memories of a moose hunt last a lifetime and we recorded it all!

Being Schooled by Tom the Turkey
มุมมอง 912 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
My client is inexperienced and this Tom gives him the slip as he waits for a better shot. Understanding what your shotgun is capable of is all part of the learning experience for new hunters. In this case the hunter learns a tough lesson he will never forget.

fantastic!
Where did bullet hit?
From elevated tree advantage and the angle of impact, I generaly aim for the joint where the legs, neck and backbone meet. If I am a little off they still go down. That shot was on the mark, took his front wheels out.
Aw man, my grandpa had that gun. I think my uncle has it now.
Great video what brand of bullets and what grain did you use?
It surprised me to see you lowered the gun to lever in a new cartridge. I am 63 years old now then in my teens to mid 20s I use allot a Marlin 336 in 30-30 I could fire and lever in new cartridges fast without ever dropping the gun down just fire and lever keeping on target. Now since mastering builds for ARs specializing in nonstandard cartridges in AR 10 I pretty much hunt with AR 10s I built in chamberings in 6mm-284 win / 6.5-284 Norma and big bore AR 10 in 375 WSM to match the power of a 375 H&H magnum. These ARs reload so fast I never loose time chambering a new cartridge and never loose site of my target.
Love the lever action work!
Best lever gun ever made
Shit blind to take down. Don’t but
All hub blinds are a bit difficult to take down, a little practice and they are very simple to take down and bag back up for travel, if you are forcing any hub blind on set up or take down ...you are doing something incorrectly and it will only lead to further human frustration and most likely a broken hub or brace. Work smart..not harder!
Nice video. Would a 300 Savage be as successful?
Certainly! Plenty of lead and punch for bear, deer or even a moose! My son owns my Dad's 300 SAV and I own a .303 SAV that works well too! Good hunting! Steve
Do you hunt them for the pot or for pest control Thanks
@@southernafricanboy4148 I hunt them for my freezer. One of the best table fare in the woods!
@@SteveBeckwithOutdoors Awesome. Thanks
is that where I think it is?
Pete that's the site you and Todd have hunted, unfortunately it was logged over last winter, but I did trap a bear there this year, so they are still around, just not much for trees!😉
Congratulations and that’s a damn fine rifle
Thank you.. Love those Savage 99's!
One heck of a shot there my friend, congrats
Thank you! You can't beat the accuracy of these Savage 99's, he didn't go 25 feet! Thanks for watching!
@@SteveBeckwithOutdoors model 99 is unreal..all the years here in WV that I saw them and passed on them I get up set...I settled on the Marlin 336 in 35 Remington with out regrets but I won't pass on one again if I can find one!!
@@ChadAdkins-hx5zz I hear that! I wish I had bought 20 of them back in 1980 when I bought my first one, they sold for $110 back then used! I have I have a 1999 in .303 Savage I bought a couple years ago but didn't pay $110 that's for sure! LOL
@@SteveBeckwithOutdoors I bet and if your like me.. I would have asked mama if I could borrow from the piggy bank first or I would have been in the DOG HOUSE.....LOL
I am thinking about buying one of these. Are the see through panels wind and water resistant??
Yes to both, the only downfall during the rain is the porous see through panels cause rain pockets to fill the tiny web holes of the panel material and it's harder to see through. But if you shake the panel and slap it you can clear most of the rain pockets. This only happens with sideways raining. They are quite dry inside, an occasional seam drip in heavy rains. Definitely an advantage!
Great review
Good video, I going to use one this 2022-2023 season.
I am sitting in one today for Maine's opener Archery Season! Good luck this season!
@@SteveBeckwithOutdoors awesome and good luck to you as well keep me posted if you get one
Got mine in predator camo. Good unit
Enjoy it.. I have 6 of them now and use them for my clients, it sure cuts down on scent and movement!
Great video Steve, thanks for making it. I need one of these blinds. Where do you recommend buying it through?
Sportsmansguide.com best price.
wtg!! Nice buck
nice . I hunt and live in western Maine
Do you guys horn rattle
We do not have the best of luck in New England rattling in mature bucks, I have rattled in does and young bucks out of curiosity.
I live in New England too . I am strictly a bow hunter most off my deer hunting is 25 yards from the edge off a swamp. It seems I can get the racked bucks to come to the edge off the swamps with rattling but then they wait till 10 to 20 minutes after dark before they walk to my tree. Sometimes I sit in the tree for as long as 60 to 90 minutes after legal shooting light waiting for them to follow my scent trail back to where I came from. So I can leave with out them detecting me. But I have found a way to get some of them.
Great out door video and live action on the trail with some hints and tips for hunters! Thumbs up! Subscribed!
Makes me glad to be a maine hunter
Love the savage... What is the caliber?
.308 in model 99C, Love my 99c Savage!
Got to take a trip up to Northern Maine. The deer up here are monsters!
Thanks for your comment on our video! Good luck this fall, sounds like you have a great spot! Send us your picture when you get him! Hunting Saturday myself for deer, then I'll be in Zone 4 running camera for our staffers Craig & Dave's cow Moose hunt the Nov 4th week! Who knows, maybe we'll get a crack at a nice buck up there too!
Great video! I cant wait! 2 days left till the hunt! From Lewiston, and have 60 acres all to myself on the Lewiston/Greene line..... Been stalking a nice 6 pointer in that area. Hope to meet up with him Saturday....
Thank you! Understanding that is what we are all about at Maine Hunters TV! :)
Thanks for watching our video. The location is disclosed within the video itself. Good luck this hunting season!
