Late to the party, but the terrible quality of early Polish editions and translations of Simon's work made me completely abandon the translated versions and I started importing English-language ones. The translations especially were atrocious.

What I’ve been saying is comics generally is a lifestyle anymore. It’s not a career like it used to be or could be. If you are making an alright living doing comics, great. I don’t know many that do, save those that work for the big two. But it’s scary that there are so many art schools with a comics curriculum. Nobody graduating with a BFA in comics is going to recoup the $200k they dropped for the degree. Ridiculous.

I was wondering about that Bagge inking as well. I was wondering if it was physical, like Schulz or something. Also curious at what size he's drawing them at. Drawing for reduction? Or same size? Maybe even smaller which could account for the look of the inking?

Imagine my frustration when I get on a best of year end list for graphic novels and I’m beat out by a 42 page comic printed as a board book. So it’s the thickness of my 136 page graphic novel. It’s a good comic but graphic novel it isn’t. Fucking nonsense.
