Im excited to listen to this, ive never heard it before. Joe(the character) may seem at first foolish, naive, unconcerned.. especially beside the very concerned Sarah.. what i came to love about him was his deep appreciation for everything around him. Humble things or activities become so special and savored. It makes me appreciate the gentle repetitions of my own life. Im so bummed season 3 was the last one.

What an interesting and telling interview. I wonder how that impacted the interviewer when he asked if he knew to ask him that. Like he answers with well, I am a professional, and kind of scoffed. I wonder what he meant by that? Was he asked a lot about that maybe? Or maybe he was always afraid someone would bring that up? It seems obvious as a question in retrospect. There are a lot of aspects of BMSR that have that hippie flower acid washed lyrics kind of vibe. Maybe this is what lead to the Tobacco project in general, him not liking being shoe horned in that psychedelic genre. As musicians I think we all struggle with that, people need to know where to put things, and that is inevitably going to get you grouped, while some might hate labels, or feel like they are different than the rest, but at the end of the day it is the sales clerk stocking the album and telling the customer what it sounds like, that makes that call. Thanks for sharing.

Man Jack Handey is a real genius because I tried writing my own Deep THoughts called "My Own Deep Thoughts" and they not super deep...maybe a couple of inches. ANd def. not as funny. But I do think Jack is some kind of spirit animal cousin of mine because we think about the world the similarly. Like if I saw a person falling from a skyscraper, I wouldn't think "Hey free dummy", but I would htink well hmm, there's an office space opened up with a good view now.
