Shote Galica: A Heroine of The Highlands
“Shote Galica: A Heroine of the Highlands”
This song pays tribute to Shote Galica (1895-1927), a fearless Albanian insurgent and national heroine. Born in Radisheva, Drenica, she rose to prominence during the Albanian resistance against foreign rule. After the death of her husband and fellow warrior Azem Galica, Shote led Albanian fighters with unwavering courage, becoming a symbol of freedom and determination.
Through battles in Dukagjin, Junik, and Drenica-known as Arbania e Vogël (Little Albania)-her bravery and leadership inspired generations. Shote Galica’s legacy endures as one of Albania’s most celebrated heroines, remembered for her famous words: “Life without knowledge is like a war without weapons.”
This song honors her life, her sacrifices, and the indomitable spirit of Albania’s fight for freedom.

Lyrics:
From the village of Radisheva, born under Drenica’s skies,
With six brothers beside her, she learned to be wise.
Married to Azem in the heart of the fight,
They stood for Albania, through day and night.
Shote Galica, heart fierce and bold,
Defender of freedom, her story retold.
“Life without knowledge is like a war without weapons,”
For the land of Albania, she fought through the heavens.
In Dukagjin she stood tall, in Junik she held ground,
Leading warriors to freedom, where courage was found.
When Azem fell in battle, she carried the flame,
With Bajram Curri by her side, she rose to reclaim.
In Drenica she thundered, Little Albania’s cry,
With hundreds behind her, for the cause she’d die.
She captured commanders, showed them her might,
Shote of Kosovo, the nation’s guiding light.
In her final days, she found peace in Kruja’s embrace,
But her spirit lives on in the Albanian race.
A People’s Heroine, forever enshrined,
In the heart of Albania, her legacy shines.
So raise a flag for Shote, a warrior’s tale,
For the mountains of Kosovo, where her spirit prevails.
Her courage eternal, her name will withstand,
A hero, a fighter, for her beloved land.

Kosovo is Serbia
Well not anymore, Kosovo has always been largely populated by Albanians even back when they were Illyrians and Dardanians. Serbia did have it, but it was never really Serbia. They wanted to be part of Albania but they now have independence, there are some Serbs there are some Serbs, particularly in the northern tip, but there are also many more Albanians within the modern borders of Serbia so.
🎉@@Albanian_History_Rock
@Albanian_History_Rock you have nothing to do with the ancient Illyriens. You are a mix nation of turks, bulgars and ziganis but not aryan European
Actually it is a well known fact that Albanians are descendants of Illyrians (you spelt it incorrectly I might add), and they have been in the Balkans for many centuries before people like Serbians, Bulgarians, Montenegrins and such even existed. Those are the ones who came from places like Russia and why they had such good relations with the Russia for many years. Serbia today is still Russia’s main ally in the Balkans.
No, Kosovo 🇽🇰 should be part of Albania 🇦🇱, it never belonged to the Serbs
🎉
