What’s up everyone, my name is Hunter with Kayak Georgia and this channel is a reminder to have fun, get outdoors and enjoy what Mother Nature has for us.
Nothing too serious, nothing too flashy. Just having a good time and showing you a few items, tips and tricks I pick up along the way.
Most of what you’ll see are videos of my kayaking & camping trips and interesting things that I saw, local outfitters, reviews of certain products that I bought and found helpful to me on the water and off, as well as a few diy projects to help make life a little easier. Also, really enjoy history and will be sharing some of what I learned about the locations that I travel to.
Hope you enjoy and remember to share your knowledge as far as it can go!

Georgia House Committee Meeting | 9/20/24
The Freedom to Float Coalition (FTFC), which includes American Whitewater, Georgia Canoeing Association, American Canoe Association, Georgia River Network and the Tennessee Valley Canoe Club is urging lawmakers to preserve existing recreational river uses and protect the public’s ability to float down even the state’s small streams that never floated steamboats or cotton barges in 1863.
The House Study Committee on Navigable Streams and Related Matters grew out of a legislative effort to name sections of some 64 streams and rivers in Georgia as “navigable” and thus open to the public for boating, fishing and hunting.
HB 1397, introduced in the most recent legislative session, was highly controversial and criticized by both river user groups and property owners. It never made it out of committee. Instead, legislators created a study committee to investigate the issue further.
The study committee will examine aspects of navigable streams in this state and the issues surrounding their ownership, private and public rights of use and other related matters and may make recommendations for proposed legislation ahead of the 2025 legislative session.

Upper Hooch | 8ft | Jackson Clutch!
มุมมอง 7652 หลายเดือนก่อน
#jacksonkayak #wontknowtilyago #kayakgeorgia One of my very favorite runs at such a great level! Here’s a couple of laps, the first one is just under 8ft and the second one is just at 7ft! The Clutch is SUCH a great boat for higher volume runs and really felt like it cut through everything with ease. It also excelled at playing and surfing on this run and can’t wait to keep testing it out!
Jackson Clutch | Initial Thoughts
มุมมอง 8583 หลายเดือนก่อน
At first glance it’s a medium Gnarvana in the front with added beefy deck lines. This is going to be great for the stability and has the half slice tail which will add maneuverability. The Jackson Clutch is going to be your go-to for big water runs and something you can take on smaller waters as well! #kayakgeorgia #jacksonkayak #wontknowtilyago

“Swim yer freaking ass off and grab the back of my boat, right now! “, well said ..especially after the ‘awakening ‘ incident - good job on the direction and rescue . I gotta go to hooch next time it’s real high, looks so fun
I kayaked this a few months ago. Shot off from Deep hole campground , passed the swinging bridge and to our cabin we rented on Whip Kendall Road....7 mile done in 6 hours. So much fun but there was some super shallow areas . Got a bit frustrating towards the end. Can't wait to kayak the other side of the Toccoa next summer.
Awesome video!

Does it handle the bigger stuff as well as a full sized creeker?
For sure, it’s got the stability of a creeker with the maneuverability of a larger half slice!
INCREDIBLE!! I can’t wait to try mine and to get out there with you!! ❤🫶🏼

1. Shouldn’t you be able to right the craft in stagnant water? 2. This is stagnant water
@@BoomsAndJunk 1. You must first be able to learn how to exit the craft. 2. This is on the Chattahoochee river🫡😁
We were always taught that if you capsize, use the inside of the boat for air before you come right out so you can take a second to calm the panic before you rescue yourself
@@GodMajik this is called the wet exit and as an instructor, why we teach this before hand so they know how to stay calm.
@@hunterwhitekayak ohhh fair! I guess it varies depending on the type of water you’re riding, right?
@@GodMajik most definitely! And for any type of kayaking the best way to practice is in a controlled environment like flat water in order to build confidence and familiarity.
