Huge changes to SHORT TERM/NON-ACA Health Insurance
The Biden administration just made a humongous change to the health insurance market related to short term, also known as non ACA health insurance plans. Its a terrible ruling that is going to force a lot of individuals and families into much more expensive plans. Reach out ASAP if you need help locking in coverage before this goes in affect for September 1st.

Are High Deductible Health Insurance Plans a Better Choice?
มุมมอง 16Kปีที่แล้ว
Back in the good ole days, you could find plans with low deductibles and low maximum out of pockets, but since Obamacare, those days are behind us. In this video I discuss whether it makes more sense for people to go with higher deductible plan options to save monthly premium, rather than paying much more monthly for a lower deductible. Is Short Term Health Insurance A Good Option?
มุมมอง 5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Short term health insurance is fantastic for several different reasons. The rates are much less than Obamacare/ACA plans, the plans are customizable with freedom to choose level of deductible we are comfortable with, and, they actually are not short term! Short term plans can go a full year - same amount of time as an Obamacare plan - and as a matter of fact, can even have a term length of two ...
Big change to ACA/Obamacare - no more ACA family glitch
มุมมอง 1.8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The 'ACA Family Glitch' has been a highly debated Obamacare rule for years; In Essence, it hurt family's where one spouse was offered health insurance that was very expensive for the family, but inexpensive for the employee only...but because of the offer of coverage and how the rule was written, the entire family would be eliminated from possibly receiving subsidy. Starting in 2023 however, th...
Health Insurance for Healthy People

Most people that have health insurance do not meet their deductible in a given year. Many of them also very rarely see a doctor, besides maybe the yearly physical, which many admit they only utilize every several years. If you are in good health, short term/non ACA plans offer fantastic coverage in a large network, at a MUCH lower premium than ACA compliant/Obamacare plans. If you are healthy a...

    does the MAX OOP include the premium? it does say that it includes the deductible.I have bi-monthy HPHP for 42. that's 1750 deductible max oop is 3000.and I get a 600 has. my ppo option is 30 dollar copay with 600 deductible and almost 200 a month.

    I have Aetna and got vision they take $2.47 out of every check. That’s $59.04 a year. And my deductible is $1,500. Let’s say I go for a checkup and it comes to $40. Does Aetna pay that $40 or do I have to pay $40 until I reach $1,500. It’s all so so confusing.

    • @lTheRealKJl
      @lTheRealKJl 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      And if the answer is; I have to pay the $40. Does $40 comes out of the insurance? Or do I have to make sure I have $40 in my bank to or $40 in cash to pay it?

    Shouldnt need heath insurance. Healthcare should be free. Imagine losing your job and then getting cancer and then not being able to pay to stay alive. Looking at stuff like that shows me that we have a while to go before we have a true civilization.

    When I couldn't afford to pay for my employer's plan or the laughable ACA plan, the short term plans were our only security in case of a catastrophic medical occurence like cancer or heart attack. These greedy bastards just can't stand the thought of someone not letting them confiscate their money for little or nothing in return. They're going to give an account of their lives one day.

    I like to choose the lowest cost hdhp which has the highest deductible option that my company offers. I then use the premium savings to max out my HSA which covers the max OOP amount if I do hit it that year. If not, then just rolls over to next year.

Deductible = $600, OOP = $2500, Co-ins = 25% & Co-pay = $200 Select one: b. Deductible = $800, OOP = $2500, Co-ins = 25% & Co-pay = $200 c. Deductible = $800, OOP = $2000, Co-ins = 35% & Co-pay = $200 d. Deductible = $800, OOP = $2500, Co-ins = 35% & Co-pay = $200

    I am a bit confused on when payments start to go toward the OOP Max. I have a few hundred toward deductible but a slightly higher amount toward the OOP Max (based on my portal). I thought payments don’t go toward OOP until after the deductible is met? 😊 so it’s deductible+oop that would be the total? We are having our first baby so wanted to investigate, your video is very helpful. My OB started to collect payments last year, with a total of my deductible. So that once I have baby, my payments are instantly applied to meet this years deductible. Not sure if that’s common but it’s seems helpful. 😊

    I am someone that works healthcare that deals with insurance. I believe that this all depends upon your situation what you can afford to pay out of pocket. There are a lot of people that are signing up for these plans that do get a sticker shocker when they go to the doctors, pay for medication, or see a therapist. People do need to realize that they are responsible to pay the full contracted rate that the doctor or therapist has with the insurance company. Basically, the individually does not have any coverage until they meet the deductible. Therapy can cost a person $120 a week with a high deductible plan. A lot of people cannot afford to pay $120 a week for therapy. Additionally some people might take medication that is very expensive like $400 for a 30 supply. That is not affordable for a lot people. I have seen a lot of people forgo medical care because they have a high deductible plan and they cannot afford to pay out of pocket until their deductible is met. I believe that having a high deductible plan is a bad idea for someone that has regular medical expenses especially if they cannot afford to pay out of pocket until they meet the deductible. I feel that the people that these plans to benefit are those that never go to the doctors or those that can afford to pay out of pocket until their deductible is met. I also believe that this plans benefit self-employed people because of the tax deductions.
