Skyline R31 GTS-R: Warming up a track for Godzilla
The GTS-R model was the pinnacle of the 7th generation Skyline. It made its mark on racetracks and showcased all of Nissan's latest innovations, including the new RB engine lineup. But it still seems to live in the shadow of its successors... maybe because it never received the iconic GT-R badge?

TRD 2000GT - The secret MR2 you’ll never buy
มุมมอง 57K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Toyota MR2 SW20 is famous for being a true enthusiast driver's car. But it also was the most dominant winning machine of the GT300 class in JGTC. Celebrating its 1998' triumph, TRD produced 35 units of genuine wide body kitted factory cars which were doomed to be the rarest Toyotas ever.
Mugen RR - The insane $100k+ Honda Civic
มุมมอง 84K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
One of the few original Mugen's series - the Mugen RR FD2 is not the average Honda Civic sedan. And doesn't even pretend. Lighter, sharper, faster. And way more expensive. Just 300 examples were made for Japanese market only and here is its story.
The Wagons unleashed: Autech Stagea 260RS and Axis 350S
มุมมอง 3.5K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Nissan Stagea aka a Skyline Wagon. Or a Touring Laurel...Or a 350Z? Let's figure it out discovering rarest performance versions made by Autech, who swapped the top power unit of each current gen into a family wagon.
Autech version Skylines: R31/R32/R33 How come there are so few of them? 🦄
มุมมอง 3.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
They are not the fastest, they are not the prettiest, but hell rare they are. Just 848 examples were made in the whole three generations. R31 Skyline was the first ever Autech version, R32 has insane NA RB26 and R33 revived the OG 4-door GT-R form. 00:19 Hello Autech! 00:49 R31 Skyline 01:32 R31 Autech Version 03:03 R32 Autech Version 06:15 R33 GT-R Autech Version 09:23 Do they exist in real life?
TRD 14R - The Griffon’s baby bird 🦅/ Toyota GT86 TRD 14R60
มุมมอง 2.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Toyota GT86 was a long-awaited baby, and TRD were very neat but yet so ultimate with their 86-based track concept. They delivered the maximum within the NA way, keeping it perfectly balanced. Just like Japanese still do. With just 100 factory assembled units the TRD 14R60 is a true unicorn you're unlikely to meet. 00:00 Toyota GT86 ZN6 02:18 The Griffon concept 05:01 The 14R60 07:38 The 14R

There are less than 4k of them produced in 3 generations. No matter that they are completely different, every Autech made Silvia is the rarest one of all time. What if I tell you that there is a super rare version of one of the most desirable JDM icons - the JZA80 Supra? And it isn't called Toyota. The TRD3000GT is a stand-alone high-performance model and the first one from TRD as a car manufacturer. Let's see what's so special about it!
Is the $2M Nismo 400R GT-R worth worshiping?💸
มุมมอง 14K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Looks like the most expensive Nissan Skyline GT-R comes from the most underrated generation (R33). Let's look inside this $2 million icon and find out how different it is from the original BCNR33 and twice more popular R32 GT-R.
Evolution Wagon - Is it a real Lancer EVO IX?
มุมมอง 8504 หลายเดือนก่อน
A true rally-born sportscar in a family friendly shape. Mitsubishi needed 8 generations of Evo to realize that they need to launch this car. Only 2500 RHD units were produced in total, which makes them quite valuable 20 years after. Check out the story and what's inside the MMC Lancer Evo Wagon.

Love hidden gems being uncovered by a hidden gem of a channel. Keep it up!
bro what in the AI generated hell did I just watch lol. cool topic but the delivery could use some help. not hating just trying to be constructive.. maybe do the edit yourself? idk it seems like the clips are wonky in places that seem "uncanny valley" if that makes sense.. anyway cheers and good luck
I own an fd rx7 love seeing that they competed against each other as equals for quite a minute there.
Absolutely wonderful thing but last one I saw advertised for sale in the UK was 85k------not worth that imo----.
Ive never seen one of these but my biggest regret in life is the fact i didnt buy that mr2 for 1000 bucks that had already been halfway swapped to a camry v6 with a turbo
So I can't get a body kit made or buy one and get the appropriate engine modifications to get my hands on one of these. But even then this is not the MR2 I want I personally want the MR2 that was designed to join group b rally in 1987 was designed built tested and drivable on the streets even though group b rally was discontinued in 86 and as far as we know there is a handful of models still running today with well over 500 horsepower coming out of that 4 cylinder in the back with the dual clamshell body panel setup
eternally grateful for gran turismo 2 for showing me cars like these
I remember back when guys were saying the $26k sticker price was too much for a DC2 Integra Type R. Now those used cars sell for 2-3x that price at 20+yrs old. I suspect this Mugen RR will age well too.
Great vid. Love seeing the footage of the 2000GT. Back in the day, us US owners just heard whispers of such a thing. I owned my hardtop turbo from 96-2006. One of this most fun cars I have ever owned. A lot of work when things started to fail, but the Love/Hate relationship was strong, and I still miss driving it. I think the one thing all owners should do (especially the pre-1993 cars) is install an LSD. That will almost eliminate tail whip. Otherthan that, tune the suspension as you prefer and learn the car.
7:43 why green? White should be the color!😂
I'm having a hard time looking for a TRD supra TH-cam video.
I've got a JDM 1995 build date N/A series II SW20 with a factory hard top which I bought from a friend who imported it from Japan when he moved back to Sydney. It's totally stock standard with 234 000 kilometres on the clock. I love it and so does my wife and kids. I have often wondered what the turbo version would be like as they were never imported by Toyota to Australia, they were what we call "Grey Imports"
I was driving my brothers 91 NSX for a while and that car gets alot of attention. I then went back to driving my 93 Mr2 Turbo and I will say I had more fun Driving it then I did the NSX. I've owned 4 SW20 and my last one sold in 06 or 07. The current owner still owns it and will never sale it. I will be getting another one in the future, definitely my favorite all around car.
Now do a video on the SARD MC8. But not just the white homologation one for the street. There’s an even rarer black one that was race only with a different body.
R30/31 are still pretty underrated in my opinion, cool cars for sure :-) +1 subscription from an A70 Supra owner thanks to this Nissan video ;-D
The GTS-R was a remap and boost increase away from having over 350hp with factory hardware, which was unheard of at the time. That massive T04E was severely underutilized in stock form.
Did not know about this little gem at all, and you did an awesome job telling the story! Thanks for the content, GG dude!
@@JosieGarfunkle thank you!🙏🏼
Great work, subbed on effort alone.
Very cool, very 80’s, car.
Sexy. I had a replica of it many moons ago. Very hard to sell.
I think it's an r31 that's a skyline
I’ve seen the body kit on various sw20s but never an actual 2000gt.
great video, but fyi there were overseas skyline models after the r31. from what i remmeber, Australia got a couple 32 gtrs and in the uk there were a few 33 gtrs as well, all converted to be uk specs with a speedo in mph and the indicator moved to the right side of the steering wheel
HOW DOES AI GO FROM A BRITISH TO AMERICAN ACCENT
This AI wishes you a MC and a HNY buddy😄🙌🏼
GTS-R probably would have got the job done had it arrived 18 months earlier. It would have cleaned house with the first spec M3 & Volvo. Gibson only got them up to the Sierra's level with a ton of work in Australia.
I remember growing up reading the magazines. Reading about the ceremic turbos
I have a buddy here in AZ who has one. Its freaking beautiful. I didn't even know they existed till i saw his.
Shockwave667 is my buddy here in AZ, and I can assure you he has a legit TRD2000 in mint condition. I’ve seen it , touched it, and did inappropriate things to it when no one was looking lol
My 1986 MA70 Supra had TEMS, electronic controlled suspension. So was Nissan or Toyota actually first? The supra with IT's 3.0L 6 (7M-GE) made 150 _KW_ vs the 150 HP of RB30, it made the R31 look ridiculous.
Nissan was first with the 4WS system and the headlights, and Toyota was first with electronic control suspension. I think it's about 1 or 2 years... Honda must be somewhere around too
My ‘85 Skyline has the electronically controlled suspension and ‘86 is the first year of the MA70 right? Also another world first for the R31 is the keycard keyless entry! Mine is missing the card at the moment but has all the supporting tech to make it work again so that’ll be a fun project :)
Ew a nissan
Nice video but using Rivsu Imports footage knowning what those guys did is kinda bad
I know a guy in my hometown of Perth who has a GTS-R. He brings it to Cars and Coffee every now and then. He loves his Nissans. Has a GTI-R and an R32 as well.
Awesome video and narrating 👌
@@Zizlak thanks 🙌🏼
I drove a couple of these back in the day, and the GTS-R certainly has some weird quirks, the turbo doesn’t come on boost until a very high 5,000rpm. At first it feels like there’s something broken, until you realise that the turbo kicks in very very late. In comparison the stock GTS was more of a mid range engine, that was running out of breath at 6000
Old school vibes😅
Neat to know. I had previously only known of the SARD MC8-R and the AW11 based 222D.
Back when most Nissans looked good, now they're just bleh.😮💨
Now the Nissan Primera is a real unicorn, especially the JTCC or Tommy Kaira cars. I wonder if there is an Autech Primera? I’d love to see a video on that car! Great content!
yes there were 400 of Autech Primeras made with modified SR20, LSD and some exterior features...perhaps it's the car to highlight too😁
I also had a 92 primera 4wd. Engine swap and rear diff out of a u13 bluebird. Another car i also loved.
The USDM version was the car I used to take my driver’s test when I was 16. It seems weird now, but technically, my mom traded a Supra in on a Skyline (MA60 P-Type for an M30 Infiniti)
I believe the Infiniti M30 was a rebadged Nissan Leopard with the VG engine instead of the RB but the M30 is still a beautifully fantastic car!
@ Was it not? I had thought they were the same in that generation but with different engine options? Not sure. Regardless, it had the same sort of iconic controls around the gauge cluster and, you’re right, it was a fun car. The transmission started acting up at very low miles, though. She didn’t have it very long.
I owned a 1986 GTSX. I loved that car.
I also had one too!
@@mickeynismocat I strait swapped mine for a 1985 200zx. Yes zx not sx. New Zealand was fortunate to get 99.5% of the JDM so we have had some special cars here in hindsight . I Really wish I held onto my R31, as they are worth $80,000 these days.
What’s the song at 2:47?
Bubble era Japan peak Japan.
“Nine hundred and ninety-three, rs”.. hearing that hurt my 🧠 lol
sorry buddy😂
The video essay is a 9/10. Especially for the synthwave music.
Thanks for such a high score😄🙏
I have the same rims on my Supra, didn't know they were so rare. 🥴
I think you summarized it well in the sence that the Gtsr was a warm up. And not worthy at the time for the GTR bage. The executives probably knew what the r32 will become.
Well yes and no, the r32 was purpose built from the ground up as a group a racecar. The rb26 displacement of 2.6L is due to the group A regulations. The executives can't have known how successful it would be mainly due to the insane amount of R&D done by the Australian group A race team Gibson motorsport in the aussie touring car series. They developed the gtr a lot more than nissan did.

Imagine a wide body TRD 2000 GT MR2 swapped with a 2GR engine. That would definitely give me exotic car vibes. 🤤
