Ian Powrie had the same ability as Jimmy Shand, to create 'lift' for the dancers, albeit on a different instrument. And beautiful on a slow air or a Strathspey too. It's not all about speed.

At my age now, these are the songs I enjoy so much-especially performed by Foster & Allen. I have only seen them live in concert in 1983 at the Adelaide Festival Theatre, in the company of a lovely lady-during a rapidly changing time in both our lives. H W, if you ever see these comments, I think of you often and those expeditions, rather than the not so good times at the Institute. I play many of these old songs many a night on a nice Yamaha keyboard -and relive the good times shared. 😁🎹🎼🦘
