I never even know they used horses in mines. Makes sense, but wow, what a life. I feel badly for the ones getting the two week taste of freedom then shoved back in a hole.

Why do you say it is "very expensive" when you can do them yourself and reuse the shoe for a few cycles? Genuinely curious because seems like a series of traditional farrier visits would cost WAY more.
Hi! Sorry I just saw this. I think this is like most things, it's definitely cheaper if you can do it yourself, but since this is a skill that many farriers go to college to learn, most people don't want to take the risk of damaging their horses hooves. If they hurt their horse, it could take months to never for the horse to recover. For price comparison, in my area, a typical farrier visit is about $65 for a trim, $150 for front shoes, and ~$220 for all shoes. Mine are all barefoot so I'm not getting shoes. I don't remember what the glue ons cost, but I think they were around $300. Farrier visits are usually every 6-8 weeks, so the cost adds up.
Very interesting video! I've never heard of this part of king Henry's life (sucks that he had so many horses killed). My only complaint would be that sometimes the background music is too loud and I can barely hear what you are saying over it, but maybe it's just me 🤷🏼♀️ Either way, I really enjoyed this little equestrian history lesson! Keep it up!
