ES44DCs are really common for DC locomotives…why do they like DC so much?
@@RailsofForney dc is dirt cheap cuz you don’t actually have to do anything because the electric generation is dc but for ac you have to ad an expensive inverter
@@BNSF_6022 I guess it’s just trade-offs, from what I heard AC is much more powerful and efficient, just way more expensive. So I guess that makes sense

@@BNSF_6022 I’m running out of oil myself so that’s quite relatable. I have some Superliner cars from Walthers that I haven’t oiled in a year or so, so that’s totally relatable.

I took a trip to Washington with my family back in 2019, the flight information said it was an 800 but the safety card said it was a 900. They’re pretty nice planes if I said so myself.

I appreciate the fact that railroads don’t replace their old steel trusses with the ugly ubiquitous concrete box bridges we see on interstates nowadays. I think they’re so much nicer, and don’t require all that ocean sand to make work.

@@BNSF_6022 Hey, I know this is off topic, but seeing your recent videos I know you are an avid model railroader. And as a fellow HO scale model railroader , I have a very serious question to ask. If you don’t know, no worries but it’s worth a go. So, I have two DCC locomotives, one is Scaletrains and the other is Athearn Genesis (don’t know if this means anything but it’s worth a shot). And *they have the same address number: 0003. I am curious if this is a potential issue* or a bypass to the finicky MU system on modern systems. *I can try to run them together and see what happens but knowing the close calls I’ve had in the past* with putting DC engines on an AC circuit unknowingly, I wanted to see if you knew if they might break the electronics on the locomotives or just send a code to both units. Is this possible? It’s a lot of detail but basically I wanted to ask if you would know anything about *running two identical addresses on the same layout at once,* and if it can break the electronics. If you don’t know, it’s fine but I’d rather look to someone else who knows what they’re doing than go on Quora or some other controversial website.

@@RailsofForney mine is slightly less accurate than yours, mine also has i high mounted rear headlight but yours should be mounted lower like it is in real life

@@RailsofForney yeah that’s what I meant, that’s how it looks on the actual locomotive and for some reason mine has that headlight mounted high on the back
