GREAT VIDEO MASTER WONG😊
I really like this drill, I find myself shifting alot.
That is a helpful demonstration and explanation. Thank you.
great vid! I always love a defense that does more than just defend, reminded me of some techniques from older versions of muay thai.
That's the way I see defense. Use it as a weapon whenever possible. When Mike Tyson slips and ducks, he's loading his punches for more power!
@@inhometraineroakville1174 every move is a weapon
EXELLENT VIDEO MASTER WONG,DWOH SHE- EH, NEED - DER- HOWEE😊
Thats the issues I come across alot with videos on Chinese martial arts. They seem to have no fighting experience and focus on making it look more pretty than effective.
This is a big problem with people who practice traditional arts. They often insist on doing things that look cool or different even if it makes no sense. I often see Wing Chun practitioners using their Bong sao as a block or an entry method. Completely ridiculous. It has a purpose but that's no it.
@@inhometraineroakville1174 ive used bong sao as like a parry, but to set up a counter or to cut an angle off of it. Is that a good way to use it?
This was a great Video! Excellent explanation and easy to follow Thank you 😎👊👊
Love your videos. I appreciate that you teach stuff that other youtubers ignore, and I especially love how to see the value in all types of martial arts.
I'm glad you like the videos. I have unfortunately encountered many close minded martial arts teachers over the years. That kind of mindset will do you no good. It's just another way to cause separation between people like race and religion. We are all human beings and every art has something to offer. And every practitioner should strive to create their own martial art. In this world of over 8 billion people there's only one of you with your experiences and personality.
@@inhometraineroakville1174 I couldn't agree more. I hear bad things about wing chun for example all the time, doesnt stop me. I find it incredibly useful for defense against punches
@CarlosRivera-ez6pw Definitely. The key with Wing Chun is understanding the purpose of it. It's a close range, high pressure, aggressive system. You must have an aggressive mindset to make it work. Trying to use it at long range like an in and out boxer is completely useless. But that's what a lot of people try to do. When someone's right in your face, Wing Chun techniques work for sure. I've done it numerous times in my life
@@inhometraineroakville1174 yes! thats why I've always believed in learning more than one way to fight. All of them are good for something, just need to understand it. Your videos have been helpful with all of that. Im finding myself very interested in your bagua and xingyi content.
@@CarlosRivera-ez6pw In that case, next week's video will be on Bagua and Xingyi!
BRILLIANT DISPLAY OF BAGUAZHANG MASTER WONG THANKYOU FOR SHARING..SHE,SHE😊😊😊
What i have been looking for
I'm glad you liked it. I guess you like the Internal arts such as Bagua and Xingyi. It's great stuff!
AWESOME ! MASTER WONG,THANKS FOR SHARING😊
Sifu Chris, The characters on your shirt are similar to the school I come from. I was a Sihing in the 90's and our school was WING BIN DIKI CHEK. What are the characters on your shirt? Thank you for your time. BTW we did 11 systems back then and Wing Chun was one of those systems.
The characters translate to "Ip Man Wing Chun Kuen (Fist)". I just made that shirt myself. I tie dyed it abd wrote the characters with a fabric marker. Do you still practice Wing Chun?
@@inhometraineroakville1174 I would love to do hand drills but no one does it in my area which is Oregon. Wing Chun is the foundation of my system plus the other 10 systems. Thank you for reaching out to me and I love all martial arts.
This isnt coiling snake this is the warm up for it..
Yes I sometimes don't get the names right. I realized that later
Great videos! Always great instruction! Love Combat Saturdays !
I saw that video too. Sounded like he was making stuff up and uses the excuse of “people have different definitions” and a safety net
is this shaolin kungfu sir ?
The arts which I train are Boxing, Wing Chun, Bagua, and Xingyi. I also do bits and pieces of other arts, including Kali, Muay Thai, Karate, and Choy Lay Fut. Wing Chun and Choy Lay Fut have Shaolin origins. The rest of them do not. It's my mix of all these arts which I call Centreline Boxing. I wrote a book about this by the same name, actually.
THANK- YOU MASTER WONG FOR SHARING YOUR WISDOM 😊😊😊😊😊
You have a strange foot position. I’m not ripping on you. I’m not trolling! Seriously! I’ve never seen anyone have their feet splayed out while doing a push-up. I always see them done on the balls of the foot, with the foot perpendicular to the ground. I’ve seen your other videos. You look very strong. 50 push-ups should be nothing for you. You look like you could do many more than that.
It's just the way my feet are. I've had foot problems over the years.a this just seems to work for me. It may look weird, but it works.
@@inhometraineroakville1174 🆒👍🏾
Much wisdom that could be applied to any endeavor, not just wing chun.
Great video. I came across Shackled Hands literally a couple of hours ago. Looking up 52 blocks videos and they have similar philosophies particularly defensive philosophies
52 Blocks is awesome! Lyte Burly seems to be the main man in that system. My system is called Centreline Boxing. My book of the same name is on Amazon. My view is that rather than seeing offense and defense as separate, they're always a part of each other. Your defense sets up your offense and all your offensive techniques has defense built into it.
Outstanding! I learned more in15 minutes than in some schools. Not slamming anyone's style but I like this straight forward/common sense approach. Thank you.
I'm glad you like it. It's my own system called Centreline Boxing which combines Western Boxing, Wing Chun, Bagua, and Xingyi, along with some other arts. I actually wrote a book about it which is available on Amazon. I once heard Paul Stanley say that he wanted KISS to be the band they wish they could have seen when they were growing up. So I wrote the book I wish I had when I first started training in martial arts!
Very nice What form of martial arts is this called Ill be looking forward to your next video
It's my own system called Centreline Boxing. There are four primary arts in it with elements of other ones also. The four arts are Western Boxing, Wing Chun, Baguazhang, and Xingyiquan.
Great video sifu wong!!
Got the book the other week! Great information! 😊
I'm glad you like it!
OO- RA MASTER WONG* 😊😊😊
What an absolute idiot.
I also like your other stretching videos are you familiar with dynamic strength by Harry Wong I still find it challenging after many years
Thank you for this new video I found my error that you corrected me on from a few days ago please forgive me and extend my regret to your Sifu I misunderstood 🙏
Yes. All is good. I respect someone who can admit their mistakes. I've made my share as well. I'm not familiar with Harry Wong's stretching, but I'll look into it.
I'm so embarrassed I honestly thought I was defending you I really need to take my own advice regarding never making assumptions dynamic strength is a book I perchesed a long time ago it's not necessarily stretching so much it's maby more like qi-gung I guess but definitely check it out he's somewhere out there on TH-cam as well
great video i think the audio is too quiet though
I'll try to correct that in the future
@@inhometraineroakville1174 yes sir!

Thank you for your reply
Thank you very much for putting out such a great, informative and inspirational videos. What sets and reps would recommend for your home bodyweight routine at home?
I would keep the reps between 10 and 15. It's a circuit workout so I'd recommend 3 rounds
Great video! Many thanks
EXELLENT INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO MASTER WONG....KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK😊
Thank you Sifu
These are good drills! I've always struggled generating power on round kicks. Doing these would probably help train out my bad tendencies
Yes they definitely will. Since I learned three drills, my kicks have improved a lot!
Thank you for responding it's very appreciated I come from Jeet Kune Do now that I'm almost 50 I'm delving way more into wing chun witch I love I've been researching this topic for a while now and I always get different answers it's seems to me people that like bridge contact during combat want to transfer pressure through the heel into the floor personally I'm not comfortable being that close what say you?
Your whole foot needs to be grounded and rooted. The pressure is more on the balls of the foot. That way, if you want to transfer to the heels to absorb force, you can. If it's already on the heel, you've got nowhere to go. Wing Chun lives and breathes in that extremely close range. Basically punch or palm strike until you're too close. Them switch to elbows and headbutts. I've studied Jeet Kune Do as well. The problem is most JKD guys can only fight at a distance. But true JKD includes the very close range. First generation students like Jesse Glover and Dan Inosanto understood this
I definitely agree probably because that's what I'm feeling while still or in motion I actually move alot like you do although I have no bakwau background forgive the spelling I'm kinda a mess really 18 years of training in 14 arts will do that I guess keep up the killer video
Combat Saturday gotta love it! Keep it up my Canadian friend oh by the way I've been looking into shifting concepts the heel the ball and the center of the foot will you go over this topic some time
Sure. Maybe next weeks video. I personally shift more on the ball or centre of my foot. Never my heel.
Thank you for your videos
You're welcome. I'm glad you like it!
Coaching methodology: Do not end statements with cues like "OK?" It prompts athletes/students to indicate that they undrrstand - even if they don't. It also prompts the coach to move on regardless of comprehension. Its a hard but important habit to break.
MOST EXELLENT TUTORING MASTER WONG😊
How is your Lifeline chest expander holding up? I am considering buying one, but honestly, I'd rather have a metal one, but they all look low quality.
I bought mine about seven years ago. Two of the smaller cables snapped, but the rest are holding up well.

I’ve been walking in circles before-long before-seeing this video. Intentionally walking in circles as a practice/exercise.
This is unlike the “whirling dervish,” first Tibetan rite, where you always go counterclockwise.
