You don’t have to do the mini-sonic part
You have to take the up path, then go through the right tube and go up, there will be some pistons or something that impulse you up. You just have to time an spin-dash or a pillout and you will get launched to the end pf the level.

I tried super-peeling out on the pistons in Metallic Madness Zone 2 and it launched me to the end of the level so I can say it saves a lot of time then doing the Section with Mini/Chibi Sonic.
