What an incredibly beautiful tribute to an incredibly beautiful man.. Matthew MacFadyen is brilliant in his work.. and he is loved more than life.. Every one of us can name favorite roles he has played.. a few of mine are Mr Darcy in P & P.. Prior Phillip in Pillars of th Earth.. Hareton Earnshaw in Wuthering Heights.. Arthur in Little Dorrit.. Althos in Three Musketeers.. loved him beard and all! Also thought he was superb in My Fathers Den.. although this one had some hard to watch scenes that completely broke my heart.. indomitable and unforgettable he was in that role.. definitely deserved an award for that one he did.. Have not seen all of his films although know if he is in something it definitely bears watching because Matthew MacFadyen is most quintessential and chameleonic.. he can play any role he undertakes.. he completely becomes his character.. and then you cannot help but love him.. Another comment here said his eyes always look sad.. this is a wise observation because most of the roles he plays, Matthew`s characters experience great hardships.. must make difficult choices.. inevitably deal with intense suffering and agonizing pain.. no wonder his beautiful eyes show sadness.. Thank you for creating this lovely video of a truly beautiful man.. those who are privileged to know beautiful and thoughtful Matthew MacFadyen.. and those of us who dearly wish they did.. love him.. most ardently ❣ Jen999💙

it took me 10 years to watch him with Keira in Pride and Prejudice. Simply liked Kevin Firth and Jennifer Ehle version. Then a month ago I finally watch Matthew's Darcy. First watching I didn't like much, watched again and then again... I have to tell that I was so wrong in dismissing both of those in the new (new to me) Pride and Prejudice. They are excellent and Matthew is simply exceptional in every way. His Darcy's facial expressions are superb. Excellent acting and beside, he seams to be a very fine young man. Young for me in my 65th. of course. Just hope he will stay grounded and great.
Whatever his expression or role, his eyes are sad. It's the combination of strength and vulnerability which makes him so attractive. The same attributes have enchanted people through the ages in the famous portrait of grief-racked Richard III.
