Pikmin 4 Is Better Than Tears of the Kingdom (Review)
Pikmin 4 does three critical things much better than Tears of the Kingdom.
Will Zelda still win Game of the Year? Almost certainly.
But Pikmin deserves to be in contention - and a household name - after another excellent entry in the long dormant franchise.

Anyone who thinks pikimin 4 is better than tears of the kingdom shouldn’t be lecturing me how any games especially tears of the kingdom of all games isn’t perfect lol then you go make a perfect game then based on your detailed judgement tf u talking about 😂😂
There is parts of the Tears of the Kingdom story it is missing out on which is Zelda's own adventure in the distant past. We have only seen glimpses of that through the Dragon Tear memories (or Zelda's memories) but they doesn't shown us much on Ganondorf's backstory (since Kotake and Koume are briefly made appearance and their names ware written in the Gloom weapons). Especially there is very little of the Zonai origins, very little moments for Link and Zelda since they are in a relationship, and not enough screen time for King Rauru, Queen Sonia, and Mineru . A playable Princess Zelda would've been a great way to make a companion piece of the story (if Fujibayashi, Aonuma, and Nintendo haven't decided to canceled their DLC plans) since the plot is dived into two. This fresh concept has been a lost opportunity (Since Skyward Sword's Unfinished Second Quest) and the game would've make it up since the developers claimed this Zelda is the strongest of all versions.
***Huge Spoiler Warnings For Gameplay *** I had to wait to stop the video 3 mins in because it revealed a little too much for me. The internet is timeless, so be warned it’s worth watching, but with many game elemennts revealed that will alter your perspective. Thank you to the Channel and Nintendo for performing the interview.
Very nice, thank you!
They are two different types of games it's not a good comparison
You have 421 subs. How the ever loving fuck did you get an "interview" with these two? I can see how you might be faking the interview, but I had to ask.
Nintendo needs to remake Majoras mask again lol
Facts 💯

I respect you're opinions but i'm not sure if I can have both, I mean I have played breath of the wild but tears of the kingdom looks pretty mid even though it takes way too long to do all the side quest, collect shrines, and loads more. I did that in BOTW but I haven't done it enough, but that's alright. Hopefully by the time when I get either tears of the kingdom or pikmin 4 I will make my decision to make things even more popular.
So you enjoyed the first 50 hours of zelda but didn't want to 100%. But pikmin is fun to 100% but it only takes like 40 hours to 100% that game. So your saying that a game with less content makes the game better? What? What you are saying is you enjoyed more time in totk but pikmin is more enjoyable because you can 100% before casually beating totk
Just beat the game. The experience is unbelievable.
2 completely different games. Stop comparing them, you won’t get anywhere
Man what well conducted interview with some insanely hard to get guests,,have you been shadowbanned?! Keep it up dude this was awesome youtube will catch up!
Thanks Paddy! Just new to the game (I hope). Never really posted anything frequently enough before!
how does this not have 2m views... amazing game by brilliant creators who really understand gamers
I love both TOTK and Pikmin 4. But for very different reasons. Its like comparing apples with pears. So to make a statement Pikmin 4 is better than TOTK feels a bit like clickbate to me.😂 But I get it. You need subscribers, thats how it works. But you can dislike a brilliant game or very much like a rubbish game. It all comes down to personal prefference.
I love both these games, but for different reasons. Overall, I think TotK is much better, but these two doesn't really compete in the same league anyway, it's a bit like comparing Animal Crossing to Super Mario Odyssey.. Pikmin is a chill lighthearted game I play mostly to relax. Zelda TotK does have much relaxing built into it too, but it's a grand adventure on a whole other level than Pikmin.
totk devs just have a dandori issue and it shows in the game
Super Nintendo World Osaka is better than Super Nintendo World Hollywood.
TOTK made me dizzy and queasy from the cameras while I only played it 1 hour and never went back; Pikmin 4 kept me glued that I kept going back.
I just wanted to say the video was great made me considerate buting the game ive been into it since i seen the trailer.
my left ear enjoyed the video but my right ear felt a little left out :(
Sorry, working on it!
I felt the same way about the first 50 hours of TOTK. I’m 2/3 through Pikmin atm and I’m much more consistently in awe of every little thing. It’s just so meticulously crafted. The sound design is especially fantastic
I (clearly) couldn’t agree more! There’s so much joy to be found in the smallest elements and every level is wonderfully constructed to take full advantage of that.
So you've put in like 27 hours in to pikmin? Don't compare until you've put 50 hours into it. Then come back and tell me you are still in awe.
@@Reapinginthedark I just 100%ed the game yesterday after 48 hours and 50 some odd minutes. Still in awe
@@joemama2499 r u still playing
One thing though I do NOT like the fact that Pikmin 4 throws away all the story progress from the previous games to make something from scratch
I know what you mean. I like to think of it sitting on an alternate timeline.
I also don't like the auto-lock on feature.
@@prestonandtom9337 I AGREEEEEEEEE SO MUCH!!! I just forgot to mention it!
Bababooey
100% agree 👍
I feel like comparing Zelda to Pikmin is a little silly, considering Zelda isn’t just a massive video game, it’s an experience that you bend to your own will and make your own goals and fun in, and IMO, it makes things like characters in game or how the economy works very insignificant. Your points are fair, but not necessarily correct. Zelda WANTS you to cheat, hell, Ascend was literally a debug tool that was turned into an ability.
It’s not silly when it comes to rankings for GOTY that’s when you compare technical capabilities and overall playtime and shit- I think that’s more what he’s trying to do- is defend pikmin 4 for it’s worthy chance at GOTY even though we all know it probably won’t win- he just wants it acknowledged- and the only other switch game this year to compare it to is ToTK- overall though they are completely different kinds of games-
just because zelda is a bigger game doesn’t mean it’s a BETTER game. I think we finally are in the age where every game thinks it needs to have a massive open world w endless things to see, but I’d argue that I value more concise smaller games that are structured better. Totk is an amazing game, but to me it’s hard to say it’s better than a well crafted more linear Zelda experience.
@@haydensmith4794Nintendo really doesn’t care about GOTY, it’s usually the fans who did. Nintendo has long passed the stage of needing a reward like that to establish its’ status within the industry
I agree with how a bigger game doesn’t necessarily mean better, it’s all subjective at the end of the day, and don’t get me wrong, I ADORE Pikmin, but personally I do prefer Zelda.
They both good though.
I 100% ToTK in the first month and I’ve been waiting 10 years for pikmin 4- the switch won this year.
Tears of the Kingdom would be waaaay better if Breath of the Wild didn't exist.
@@prestonandtom9337 it would not exist if Breath of the Wild didn’t. Plus the devs learned what made the game great from making BOTW and they made it even better in TOTK.
@@rocketg1098 Yeah but tears of the kingdom doesn't leave a strong impact on you if you already played breath of the wild because it feels like the exact same game except with new stuff. I really feel like they should go back to linear zelda with the green cap on.
@@prestonandtom9337 if that’s what you think then okay. I just heavily disagree.
You have to improve the audio quality, good video but consider buying a good microphone or process the vocal in speech enhancement software before posting.
I did try the speech enhancement! But yes I agree. Working on it 👊
idk man, for a channel with so few subscribers, the production quality is waaay higher than expected. the video is honestly pretty good, well paced and directed and the sound quality is very solid. for growing a channel, equipment is not everything
@@Wasa8i2 most people watch on phones, if the audio source is not good enough the phone speaker would be inaudible. It is well worth the effort otherwise the whole effort of making the video is wasted because people would leave the channel not even noticing why they didn't want to keep watching.
Actually I’ve got similar problem. The sound is ok when I hold my mobile vertically, but when I pick my mobile horizontally, then the sound get lost a bit. But all other video are ok.
so true
Bros spitting facts
2 MVPs. Respect.
He should have asked them about epona why not bring her in as part of the story. Lol
Great interview! Thank you for sharing!
Why is this faked?
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G interview dude! This should really be more seen by the world and I even learned some new stuff, for instance I had no idea that the devs considered a "moving" theme for the divine beasts in BotW. I thought they aimed on like a mechanical animal sort of theme or something but it seems like that's the type of stuff they aimed for. Nonetheless really good!
This looks like you spliced your footage into another interview.
Great content, horrible audio mix
Thanks man - I’ll work on the audio going forward!
What a beautiful wedding❤thank you so much for sharing your special day. Love,Wendy XOX
Thanks everyone for the heads up on spoilers, I'll have to wait to watch this. There should really be a spoiler warning in the title or something.
There's so many spoilers in a video that came out ON release day
Take a day off for Zelda? I took 10 days of for TOTK and a month off for BOTW.
Glad I’m a student to get three months off to spend for TOTK lol.
Good interview but the gameplay is way too heavy on spoilers
Yeah. Completely undermines what should have been a good interview. Horrible needlessly rude chice to be so spoilery.
@@A_Dylan_of_No_Renown At this point, I have over 100 hours in the game while avoiding the story. I'm so thankful I did my first dungeon yesterday before watching this video because of the amount of spoilers.
Almost as if the title of the video didn’t mentioned the word “SPOILERS”
@@luccithegreatest271 That was added later
Just watch it after you’re done with the story and stuff, even if something is “no spoilers”, people have different definitions of spoilers
Sounds like a promising video! Will save for after I finish the game
I am maybe half way through the game and trying my hardest to avoid sboilers. The footage you are showing is the most spoiler filled stuff yet.... I'm kinda pissed
they say "SPOILERS" for a reason..
This is so cool! I really appreciate your work here! :)
It's actually criminal how many views this has.... Deserve so much more. Thank you for conducting the interview.
You’re too kind! I do this stuff for work but only just started posting what I can to my own channel 😇
Awesome interview thank you!
