Haven't gotten around to publishing another tutorial so I wanted to jump on camera and give some more context for the channel in the meantime. I hope people can connect with my story and that the message helps some new VFX artist find their footing.
I'll be doing these every so often to keep up my motivation to post here with the crazy schedules!

Unreal Engine 5.4 Green Screen Workflow (Blender to Unreal)

If you're looking for the best way to get camera tracking from Blender imported into your UE5 scenes, this should answer most if not all of your questions! But if you have any more questions, drop a comment! Replying to all :) Thanks for watching and feel free to connect with me on IG: @andrewdileo Directed by Ben Proulx IG: @btproulx Special Thanks to Michael Reed (@michaelreed_ig) for additio...
this is amazing, I didn't understand how did you attached a greenscreen footage to the camera. I couldn't find the mediabundle thing!
@@AhmadKadi10 I think I need a follow up video. Long story short, the media bundle blueprint is available when you click film/virtual production as your starter project. I don’t think it’s available if you choose something like third person game.
This is an awesome video showing the best workflow from Blender to UE5. But please make an in-depth tutorial for how you tracked this footage so well. Because the background is so blurry but you managed to track it. It would be like a full course if you do a tracking video!
🔥🔥🔥
Dope general advice! Looking forward to those tutorials
Very informative video! USD Stage is not showing up for me. I have enabled the plugins and all :/ Thanks!
@@Soundar24x7 dammit, yes they moved things around. Now it’s located under “virtual production” in the same menu.
Or in some submenu, they just moved it!
Thanks! I'll try seaching for it in the mean time, it works in 5.3!
Andrew, you are a saviour!
is it not better to have some sort of motion sensor taped to camera and "record" camera motion to not track these + on green screen?
@@Loko_Gaming for a production of this size, no. For commercial purposes, that can be beneficial. Virtual production should be done on a project by project basis. This is the traditional method and allows us a lot more freedom and flexibility in post.
Unreal Engine 5 как добавить видео четкости хромакей видео в проекте???
how did you move the camera in Unreal? when i try to move..it always snap back to same place
@@SangSync very simple, instead of translating or rotating the cinema camera actor, instead on the timeline you can add “camera component”. Usually this is there by default but if you don’t see it, you can click the + next to cinema camera actor on the timeline in select camera component. Do all your transforms to this! that way it is an additive move being applied as opposed to changing the key frames of the existing camera animation. I hope that makes sense.
@@andrewdileo ok thank you very much
i've been looking for something like this foreverrr!
@@emersonvernon333 glad I could fill in the blank!
aye i see ben prioux in the cut lol
What gpu will work for a complex workflow like this? I’ve been considering Rtx 4070, will it suffice? Thanks and great work. Cheers
I have a 3090, 40xx series will work better. VRAM is most important. I recommend 24GB V-RAM minimum if you want reliability especially if it's your profession and time is a factor. (for those that don't know RAM is different than VRAM). You don't need a 4090 but that's going to save you some pain. I'm personally waiting for 50 series Nvidia GPU's to drop to buy a new system, and I always buy pre-builds (time is money)
as a current film student watching this video gave me so much inspiration and excitement for where my projects are going to take me in my career!! you guys killed it, I'm obsessed with this video I've watched it probably an unhealthy amount of times because it's so cool lol
@@FH-bk6bn thank you! Never went to film school, but I think it’s awesome that you’re taking that step, build some relationships and get out on sets literally as soon as you physically can if there’s one take away from this vid, it’s that there is a lot more to film than just commercials and movies! And you can do production work and VFX on the side, it’s nice to be well rounded and explore all these different avenues!
That was kind of a word vomit, but yeah!!!
That hard good creative, confuse my brain 🧠 definitely gotta get blender play around wit the program definitely good 3d animation videos
You can do it! Give it a shot!
Please make more videos!!!!
Okay just for you!!!!
andrew do you work with upcoming african artist in terms of editing or your budget is off the roof
Life is so expensive man. I wish I could work with everyone! But yes services are in the tens of thousands, you see how much work goes into just one shot.
@@andrewdileo i agree man salute you good job

🔥🔥 Thanks Andrew! Keep the tutorials coming.
@@Apuat oh man!!! I will
This is what i call a fun project to do.
@@josepheapen7690 incredibly fun! There’s times you just want to run away forever from the computer, but overall very satisfying to see it all come together!!
Hii, the content you make is awesome :D. Do you have some online courses you'd recommend to learn the basics of your work?
thanks for all your work, you and the other production members! Ate That's MV is so fresh, so creative and just generally so fun to watch

thank you for making awesome MV and i really love kids(YP), they are so cute and talent.
Continuity error. The truck breaking the blockbusted banner had dual wheel in the front axis, later it was corrected.
@@manticorebp I am painfully aware, thanks for reopening that wound 😂
@@andrewdileo hahaha, that wasn't the intention. You did a great job, those are minimum details, almost seems like easter eggs. You make a great team, I hope we can continue enjoying your incredible work. Something I also like is every video after the oficial MV, from Ben and you showing all the work needed to make a great MV. Keep working man. Cheers
that was so sick, def elevated the MV, congrats!!!!!
You guys makes me inspired to do 3D again, ack!
Do it! 😊
Very Ian Hubert. Well done.
@@JWS1968 bruh don’t even…that’s insulting to Ian Hubert 😅 I ain’t there yet
I am currently studying VFX. How would a student like me find work for virtual production? All the tricks you used I would use in my projects. It’s pretty awesome how much you can get away with so much. Are you working for a specific company or freelance?
@@kan-i-yahaveapizza7006 the joke about the secret recipe book on set was that the book was empty. There’s no secret, no “right” or “wrong” way to approach these things. Funny enough, as passionate as I’ve been about 3D, I really just walked into this, maintained confidence, and learned how to problem solve. So when you say all the tricks I mentioned, that you would use on your projects…I don’t see it that way. You probably would have found an even BETTER way to do it! Problem solving is the key. Someone has an idea, and they need to bring it to life. The first step is thinking, right? What does that look like in your head. Then, what does that look like drawn on paper? Then what are some small skills or experimental research you’ve done that can be applied to this idea to make it closer to what would look “real”? Then finally, how do you take all those steps, layers, and procedural processes, to create a compelling draft, and how do you work with the client to refine it into a final presentable version accepted as “good” by the general public? If you can learn to do that process, and make it feel natural, you will find your place in the VFX industry. To answer your question, I am just a wandering videographer who just so happened to be able to see some 3D visions through to the end using skills that were pretty much a hobby most of my life, and had the confidence to say that I can get the job done. The line in the sand between you, and every other artist to walk on earth, is the ability to say “yes, I can do that” and then figure it out. We’re all just figuring it out. So sink or swim my friend :)
@@kan-i-yahaveapizza7006 also we are looking for help and passionate people who want to grow with us to explore new possibilities and optimize our pipeline. Might be worth reaching out through IG. That goes for anyone who thinks they got what it takes!

Thank you so much! Definitely my favorite so far
this is so interesting, i’m trying to learn 3d modeling by myself and seeing all of these put together and animated, it’s giving me so much motivation! i’d love to able to do something like the video one day🥹
@@bonnysvan That’s wonderful, if you can afford it, I would recommend getting substance painter! And learning how to do your own texturing/materials. It will make you get excited about being able to model new stuff. You can also sell your 3-D models online, like other people that we’ve purchased for videos like this!
