Try To Think About Elvis

I started writing a song for my song club that was thematically reminding me of this Patty Loveless banger written by Gary Burr. Figured I’d give it a go. Here’s “Try To Think About Elvis” from my front porch.

I wasn’t quite 7 years old when the DJ broke in on KSCS to announce the death of Keith Whitley. Even as a little girl in the back seat of my parents’ car, I remember feeling so sad. He really was something else. He’s been gone 35 years today. This song was written by Tim Nichols and Zack Turner and performed beautifully by the inimitable Keith Whitley. Here’s “I’m Over You” from my front porch.
