มุมมอง 624ปีที่แล้ว
Reflex is the most famous binding system in waterski. There release system is the best mechanism on the market and today they bring us a new system : the direct contact. Basically, the plate has been removed so the bonding sits directly on the ski. Don't make the same mistake as I did, go watch the tutorial with Neilly Ross to make sure you put it correctly on the ski - th-cam.com/video/LsMBDZ7...

      They were talking about "zero off" cruise control at the time, so perhaps it relates to that. I only recently heard of this alternative to "perfect pass" cruise control. If I had to venture a guess, I’d guess it relates to a zero off setting that determines how the boat engine responds to the pull of the skier, tuning that response. Just a guess.

    Extraordinary athlete. I loved slalom. Going out to grab the buoy is all deceleration as you cut deeper and deeper into the water. Then in an instant you are launched across the wake to the other side. Its like going from 20 to 40 in a heartbeat. Two things: Lean way back and hang on tight with elbows bent and tucked in. Looks easy......

    T Whisper would say 'I'm looking at the top of your ski when I should be looking at the bottom,...meaning change edges earlier resulting in not finishing the turn so far down course. Absolutely killer skier here. She is making the passes despite finishing the turn down course because she is not giving up the angle she generates! Once she starts to backside the turns she will nail that 39 pass!

    large skis carry the turn speed - shorter skis are jerkier and acceleration much harsher on the and need to accelerate more. Of course there is a lot more to it. The flex in the ski, both front and back, the shape, so many tiny details make all the difference. I bet Nate has a ski that is specifically designed for him. I just LOVE Nates style - which is unique to him. Shout out to Andy Mapple - not forgetting Deena. Wonderful person. Nate the Great - awesome interview. Thank you for carrying on.

So it was safe to say that me and Nate Smith were Always competing and my biggest regret in life is that I grew away from the sport and I hope That I can compete as good or close to Nate because it could have been 2 waterskiers outta champion lake and there both either number 1 or 2 in the world.. been rambling but have a good carree Nate Smith and good luck

    • @georgert
      @georgert 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@boarding5946 Good question. I asked some professional water skiers whom i know for input on any studies they may be aware of. If I turn up anything I'll get back to you. In the meantime I'll offer some anecdotal information. First off, obviously the beginner water skier is just going to have fun and swerve back and forth awhile without inducing a lot of stress on the body. However, when water skiers are more advanced at the tournament level the physical demands are much higher. I snow ski over 100 days each season. I can put on my boots and ski at a high performance level four to six hours. When I water ski, it's typical to ski two to four sets. Each set may take three to five minutes. At the conclusion pulse rate will be in Zone 5 or 6, and the muscles of the lower back, legs, shoulders, arms etc. will close to or at failure. Recovery is usually about 10 to 20 minutes before another set. Water skiing at a high level is really only possible four or five days per week, requiring two or more days days a week off for muscle recovery and adaptation. A slalom run in a course takes about 16 seconds and involves six turns. At many professional tournaments bonus prize money is offered for the skier who exerts the most load on the rope (determined with a kind of strain gauge attached to the line). Male winners at the last three professional tournaments of 2020 were all registering over 900 pounds at peak loading in the turns. The women were at over 500 to 700 pounds. Each load is followed with a "relaxation" phase through the pre turn before the next load. The intensity of the loading is the reason why maintaining the "stack" or body alignment through the turn. Any break in good skeletal alignment will cause the skier to collapse at the waist and go over the handlebars. Take a look at this video of pro skier Corey Vaughn and note how he maintains awesome body alignment so he can take such huge compression on his body. th-cam.com/video/1wFDPg8gTZA/w-d-xo.html

    This is really helpful thanks for posting this. Coming to the realisation that your body doesn’t need to move outside the buoy, and eyeline can be narrow of the buoy line too is pivotal in helping to run 32 off and beyond. Dropping your hips and body inside and allowing your ski to swing out and carve in on its own separate path helps me to create a smoother finish to the turn. AM simplified it further by saying ‘make sure you finish the turn AT the buoy, not afterwards’
