Medela Pump in Style MaxFlow Breast pump Unboxing
มุมมอง 4.3K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Hey Guys! This video is the unboxing of the NEW Medela Pump in Style MaxFlow double electric breast pump. I'm very excited to give this a try but wanted to post a video to let you guys see what is in the box! Let me know in the comments section if you have any questions about this pump as I plan on posting another video on this soon reviewing it. So, if there is anything specific you are curiou...
What do I do if the pump suction doesn’t work well and it makes a vibration noise
Are we supposed to clean the tubing if it builds condensation
what size of flang with it ??
I have that pump and milk got all in the tube and I just found mold I had no idea that could happen I hope my baby didn’t get any of it in her milk ☹️
What if some one has low milk supply will This pump Still help then Get extra milk ?
Hi!!! Thanks for the review! Comparing to medela symphony, how is the suction? I´m. getting back to work in 3 weeks and the simphony is too big to carry so i am going to return it to the pharmacy I rented from. Thank you!!
I have this but they didn't give me my tubes in my box I don't recommend
I’ve clicked thru sooooo many videos. Yours was so detailed. Thank you.
I’m not saying this is a crappy pump it does work well but make sure you replace your tubing a lot because mine definitely got milk all in it and I found mold as well 😔
You can use the rechargeable batteries
Just got mines today! And I’m excited to use it!
The suction is awful
Does the cooler bag fits inside the bigger bag with the rest o the breast pump and accesories?
Great review i brought a medela pump 5 years ago when i had my twins....im looking for a new one for my new baby
Such an accurate review, thank you.
Is the output significantly better with this pump than the freestyle flex? I’m trying to decide between this one and the flex. What would be your choice if you could only use one?
I would choose this one because I find the suction is better!
The suction of that is awful
My breast pump loss suction I’m very disappointed
I’m sorry. Have you contacted Medela?
Any idea long the battery lasts?
Depends on the type of batteries you use but it should be around 2 hours or so.
I wish i saw this review before i got my pump because i do NOT like that microvibration crap... that was the reason i got rid of the spectra🤦🏾♀️
Hi loved the review. How would you say this compared with ameda mya if you have used it too.TIA🙂
Nice review
thank you. your video helped me make my decision to get this pump.
Yay thank you for this review! I’m excited to get mine soon!
Great video! I’m expecting a baby boy in a month. And I was wondering do you think it’s worth the price? A lot of reviews say the suction is not good and it takes longer to pump compared to other pumps. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
Thanks! I personally really do like this pump. I haven’t really had problems with its suction so I do think it’s worth the price. Especially if you can get it on sale or with a coupon!
I don't think anything you disliked is a big deal. none of those things are cons for me.
I appreciate how thorough you were with this! Have you tried the Spectra S2 plus and if so what would you say how this pump compares to that one?
I had this question too! I still have time to think of which one i want but i want to see a video of both of them being compared since those are the only 2 I’m interested in
The Ameda mya is way better
What pump did you use before the max?
I’ve used the flex and the old pump in style.
Can you attach the storage bags directly to the pump?
No, not with this pump from what I know.
I got this pump and its waaayy better then the old version. The suction is stronger and the microvibrations are great. Work well for me. It is loud though.
I agree!
This is a great pump. I had the pump in style advanced out of the hospital and hated it. This is much stronger and better at emptying me. I do agree a timer and level screen would be nice. But its really good. The micro vibrations are great and work for me. Also the bag is nice! The closed system is awesome. My old one used to get moisture in the tubing every single time. This never has. Also the suction on this to me feels much stronger then the medela symphony. Which I also have. And rarely use it.
Thanks for ur opinion! Im trying to figure which pump to purchase
I find the breast shield too short for my comfort. I have the 21mm, but with my previous Medela pump, the shield was longer and I could see the milk coming out, now I can't and I feel like my nipple hits the yellow membrane. Any advice? Or suggestions for longer shields?
Thanks for the review! I was wondering if you could help me decide between the different Medelas though. I'm due with my first at the end of November and I'm trying to decide between the Sonata (previously used for 6 months priced at $250), the Freestyle Flex brand new (with a discount for around $360), the old Freestyle (used for $220), and this new PIS with MaxFlow tech brand new (with discount for $270). I know each have their pros and cons but I'm so overwhelmed with all the different features. I'm planning on taking 12 months for maternity leave and likely won't be out too much given the pandemic. Would you say the tech on this new PIS outweighs the portability of the Flex?
I haven’t used the Sonata so I can’t comment on that. The only thing I would recommend is to make sure that if you are buying a used pump, it is a closed system for hygienic reasons. The Freestyle Flex is a great pump but it is pretty pricey. So if you aren’t going to be needing a portable pump, I wouldn’t necessarily pay the extra money for it. I spent my first mat leave being plugged in to a pump (I’m not an exclusive pumper but I do pump once or twice everyday...more in the beginning of my babies’ lives). Once I got the flex, I enjoyed being able to do chores, etc while pumping. If this isn’t something you see yourself doing, in my opinion, the price tag isn’t worth it then. I haven’t used the old freestyle either but I don’t think it’s a closed system. It’s also a portable pump so I’d be wary of buying a used battery as you don’t know exactly how much life is left on it as batteries lose their ability to hold a change with time and use. I have my gripes with this new PIS but I do really like it. If price wasn’t a factor, I would buy the freestyle flex because it is portable, it works well and the screen and app connectivity is great. To save money, I would buy the PIS MaxFlow because I find it to be more efficient with milk output even though there is no screen, timer, etc. It’s easy and simple to use with nothing fancy. Hope this helps!
What am I doing wrong? I had their old one but it broke and I got this one to replace it. I can't get it to work for me. I get less than a teaspoon out but my breasts are still full.
If you were getting more milk with other pumps, I would perhaps contact customer service to make sure everything is working fine with the pump. A properly functioning pump itself shouldn’t decrease your output like this if you are using it correctly. Hope they can troubleshoot with you!
Try checking your flange size :)
Massage your boobs, you may have a milk duct. I had the same problem.
Thanks for the review!! Think it’s Obvious but I want to make sure before I order. I used the medela pump in style two years ago for my first and have lots of extra parts. I can’t use those parts for this pump right? Looks totally different other than perhaps using the plastic shield if I needed to. Also, do u know if they make other shield sizes? I was a 27 last time and the rubber shield def sounds like an improvement! Also hoping I can use the same medela bottles I used two years ago too
They do make other sized shields that you can buy separately. I’ve seen the 27mm. It’s a new pump but it’s parts are the same as the flex so you can buy replacements and extras if needed. The tubing and connectors are completely different so I don’t think you can use those interchangeably with the two pump in style pumps (unless someone has figured out a clever way to work around it).
Thanks for the review! I’ve been waiting for reviews but only find unboxing ones. I already ordered the pump and was crossing fingers, hoping it better have more good points on reviews once there is! 😅😁. I did notice right away that we observed the same few cons while you’re demonstrating it such as there’s no screen and the clicking. 😟 hopefully i’ll manage. Thank you so much momma! 🥰
I hope you like it! It is a decent pump and I enjoy it.
Great review! Do you find that this is significantly louder than other pumps?
Thanks! I’ve used the Medela Freestyle Flex, Symphony and the Pump in Style Advanced, and compared to those I find it louder than all except the Symphony. If I’m pumping on the sofa with the pump placed on the arm of the sofa or if it’s on a cloth on the table, the noise isn’t as bad and I find that to be more manageable. If it’s just sitting on a table without anything underneath, it is pretty loud, especially at higher speeds.
A2Z Mama thanks for the info! I will be pumping at work, so I’m a little hesitant about how loud this one is but I love that it’s so small and compact.
A2Z Mama is the pump bag big enough to fit the pump and the cooler at the same time?
Yep! With some room for a few more things as well.
Mine is quiet compared to my other medela pump I think it's the old pump in style
Have you liked it? How much time does it last with the battery?
I do like it! The battery pack doesn’t last too long. I got about five 20ish minute sessions out of it and the suction isn’t great. If you are looking to pump on the go often, I would suggest looking into getting a portable pump. I have the Medela freestyle flex for when I need to pump on the go, and it works great.
Is the power adaptor applicable for other countries? Power requirement is 220v. Thanks!
The power adaptor for the pump says ‘Input: 100-240V’ so I think you will be okay!
Have you used this? how good does it work?
I have been using it and I really like it. I’m going to be putting out a review video this week!
Waiting for a review on this as well
A2Z Mama do you prefer this to the original pump in style? I’m due for a new one, and my insurance will cover either. Also, do you find the shields too short? I’ve read some issues with nipples being pulled all the way up to the adapter.
I do prefer this one! I’ve used and really liked the Pump in Style Advanced but the Maxflow is definitely better overall in my opinion.
Goral, I’m working on it!
Hi did you get this pump through your insurance and if so was it an upgrade option or no?
Sabina Beltran Hi, I didn’t get this pump through insurance. In canada it isn’t common for insurance companies to cover breast pumps so unfortunately I don’t have much info on that.
I am pre ordering this through Aeroflow with my insurance for free!
