Jazz in many colours taken from my collection of CD's and LP'S Something for everyone i hope :)
Don Grolnick Oran
Taken from his fantastic 1996 album '''Medianoche'' on Warner Bros Records
Bass - Andy Gonzalez
Bongos, Drums, Percussion - Steve Berrios
Congas, Percussion - Milton Cardona
Flute - Dave Valentin
Piano - Don Grolnick
Tenor Sax - Michael Brecker
Timbales, Percussion - Don Alias
Vibraphone - Mike Mainieri
Medianoche finds Don Grolnick in the company of a hybrid Latin and post-bop supergroup of sorts, with Michael Brecker on tenor, Mike Mainieri on vibes, Dave Valentin on flute, Andy Gonzales on bass, and Don Alias, Steve Berrios, and Milton Cardona on percussion. The idea is simple: authentic Latin arrangements of very hip jazz material.

dos genios
Gosh, I had this album when I was in high school and wore the grooves off the LP.
This is a direction. Prince rejected this direction. He preferred money and chicks.
This is great stuff Danny - great find.
My favorite of the fusion tracks they recorded
Amazing, Thanks !
Thanks for posting! I don't know why, but a lot of hidehiko's music has recently been removed from youtube... I can't find much to listen to anymore. Do you have the track "samba de sun" ? i would love to listen it again
I do i will post over the weekend :)
@@dannyjarvis8093 Omg Many thanks! Made me realise that I need to archive the content I enjoy - what's on the net isn't eternal... I'm so relieved, thanks again :))
He did far more than just funk.
"Jazz sessions" Herbie Hancock was definitely an inspiration/influence you can hear the style in this.
Never heard of this guy…I will investigate it.
Suena muy dulce y encantador!❤
Prince WAS/IS music.....
GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR ESTA GARBACIÓN
Looking at the soundie he did with The V's, he must've had a hell of a stage act too. Apparently he spent a lot of his career in the clubs.
love this💜
I love this. It’s very well done and you can totally see the beauty of Prince 💜
A favorite
I have to tell you that despite what the official versions tell: Loring Park Sessions '77 (Feat. Prince, Andre Cymone & Bobby Z), it sounds too tight to be played by three different people. The drums and bass along with the keyboards is Prince, And I have no doubt
In '77 he was 19 years of age. Wrap your head around that.
2:30 I didn't even know that electric mosquito was an instrument. I mean I know it is the Minnesota state bird, but I didn't know you could play music with them.
N.1❤
Top..n.1
A great album,love it!
this shit got me in my feels man gotdamn this dude is incredible
I swear I can hear Patrice Rushen on some keys here...
Check out "N.E.W.S." "The Rainbow Children" both very Jazzy. He has jazzy numbers on many albums. His diversity is like non other. A reason he never wanted to be labeled to a genre.
This would have been nice on a full jazz album release from the vault.😊
😊
Full album please!!!
This is one of Bruce Forman's best albums along with a couple others he did on Muse Records, and of course my favorite "Full Circle" on Concord. Too bad that none of them were released in CD or digital format.
Don't tell me he's playing all the instruments on this. I know he's a beast on so many things but every instrument is being played like a seasoned pro here
Ahhh I see the description. Was gonna say. Didn't know andre was at this level

So many People still don't understand or see this man. He was out of this world talented.
WOW I NEVER EVEN KNEW THIS MUSIC EXESTED. COOL
Very Jazzy Jam.😊
Thanks for uploading! my friend bought this vinyl randomly and we loved it! Havent been able to find it since
Thanks for posting this... it's my Dad on piano 🎹 🥰
Show!! Muito lindo! Só podemos agradecer ao músicos, mágicos, geniais!! 😀❤
I have this album and had No luck finding it on TH-cam. THANKS SO MUCH for placing it. Until I get a turntable to actually listen to it again.
PRINCE was ahead of his time RIP
Prince and David z met when Prince was 15 years old.
Interesting band, wery good known for brit-funk music lovers. Can you please upload the other songs of the album? Thanks
One of the greats, but rarely will you find someone who knows her music. Have all her albums on CD, except one - “Dreamsville: Sue Raney Sings the Songs of Henry Mancini” - and I’m sure it’s terrific too.
BEAUTIFUL RENDITION
Hello could you please publish the rest of the album?a hug from Brazil
I'll post some more soon :)
Das ist bekloppt!
Fantastic drummer.I saw Bernard many, many times live he was such a nice man.In Québec he was called by many the Art Blakey of Québec, not for his playing per say but for his ability of recruiting many young musicians to join his roster. His music as always been very energetic in a post bop mode with lots of soloing space for his band mates.Nice initiative Danny to put Bernard Primeau on the spotlight like this,he is so underrated.
Awesome horns ! Jerry hey king arranger ! ❤❤
❤❤❤😢
This guy could swing…The mad man of the Hammond!
Wow!Never heard about her but this is one explosive fantastic track!
