@@Nolanreidhave you tried placing a puck screen on top? Or a paper filter on top of the puck?
What temp do you have your steam wand at,
As high as I could set it :)
@@Nolanreid This is the proper way because the machine uses dev point % vs setpoint to adjust the power to the heating element. i.e. Heating to 130c takes longer time pid set to 130 than heating to 130c when pid is set to 140
Are you using a double basket or the tripple that the ecm bottomless comes with?
Double basket , VST ridge-less
What do you think of the new MOVE?
Love it , I wish I could borrow one for a review !
@@Nolanreid i like it, but if they add rotary pump instead of vibration!
I'm so torn about this machine vs some of the competition at a similar price point. It just looks cheap, let's say compared to Casa V. Sure you get PID, but I wonder if the parts are designed to really last or is it more about bells and whistles in this single boiler level. Cheers.
After having one now for almost two years. I can surely tell you that it is not built cheap . Perfect machine to buy at this price point . Mine is a work horse . Never failed or let me down. Pick one up you won't regret it
@@Nolanreid Thanks for the reply - appreciated.
So how long does it take to get the 40 gram out? I'm having a difficult time getting my pour time to be consistent...
@@Mirandasiwillja mine is between 25-35 seconds from the time is starts to show liquid
What caused the shot too come out in 20 seconds?
I did not grind fine enough
I have a go and have issues with steaming. My steam temps drop dramatically. It doesn’t stabilize to the set temps after steaming
I turned my steam up as high as I could , I hope this helps !
@@Nolanreid thanks that did help. Also when you turn your machine on. Does it go past your set PID temp? I notice that I have to flush it to show temps. It shows temps of 240-250, then I needs to flush to get it back to 200.
@@nickho4320 no mine stays at 200 , but I heard that the newer machines have new software .. I would recommend flushing before making your first shot anyways . Evens the temp out in the group head
Enjoyed the workflow, but the music was awful, sorry. Too loud and too repetitive.
Thank you for the feed back , still getting back into editing after having a long break . I will upgrade to Final Cut Pro soon , I know they have a better music selection
would love to see your workflow for back to back shots for a milk drinks. Would you pour both shots first then steam the milk or do you do one at a time?
Done ! Check out my new video ! And thank you for the great idea
Mine needs up to 10-13 seconds before it Starts flowing..why ?
I would imagine you have ground too fine , how long are your shots running for ? From the time it starts flowing until your 1:2 ratio is complete ? It should be around 30 seconds
From start 25-30 seconds, but it Starts flowing when Timer Hits around 10-13 seconds
Are you using the stock basket? I would recommend upgrading to a VST basket if you’re still using the stock one .
@@Nolanreid no Using one 3rd Party basket. I feel like when I grind grosser it drips too fast
Coarser
why the plastic water reservoir.. this is what i dont understand.. first reason why i want to pay 1k$ more for this is to have no plastic touching the water
Most newer machines do , unless you go with plumbed waterline and just use braided hose
Any chance you could do a video or list of your favorite Ontario roasters would love to try some of them
I will add that to my list! Thank you for the idea
Missed you
Hi, this is great thanks so much. What temperature did you set espresso and steamer to?
I'm so close to buying a Profitec Go. Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been consuming so much espresso content on youtube and found your video extremely helpful. Mind sharing which portafilter you bought? Need to add to my wishlist!
I bought the ECM Bottomless from whole latte love .. and it’s matched with a dual shot 20g. Ridge less VST basket
toyko drift x phonk ??
Link for cups?
Sorry I bought them from a private dealer at the one of a kind show in Toronto
My buddy has same machine but it runs right through once he starts it. Is that because the grind is too coarse? Please help, thanks!
Yes grind finer !
You need rly expensive grinder for proper espresso and you have to play with settings always cause as coffee get old you need to grind finer and finer.
I have the same portafilter as you and when I put it in like you did in the video it spills out water because its not tight enough, why is there such a difference?
You might have to replace your gasket … what basket are you using
@@Nolanreid its that red silicone one. I got the recommendation from someone on TH-cam
Concerning the pressure gauge displayed pressure after you have stopped the shot... Don't worry about it. Once the machine stops pouring the gauge is no longer accurate. It only works when it's under pressure whilst the machine is pouring. So you can ignore what it displays when it's not in use. The solenoid valve removes all the pressure when you stop the shot so it's safe to remove the portafilter immediately regardless of what the pressure gauge reads.
nice machine. but happy with my touch impress from breville for now. in a couple of years i might uprade to a profitec 500 or so. though i do love the look of the go
Have you tried a shot using the ode?
It’s a gen 1 ode so it is not good for espresso
wired question but what kind of table you are using its kinda nice
48” husky tool bench
A weird question that I haven't seen anyone asked about the go. The screw on top let you adjust the brew pressure, so can I turn it as I brew to mimic flow control like those e61 machines?
I don’t think so , but I am also not the best person to ask
It’s not meant to be used in that way. I believe it could cause damage.
if you are facing the machine and the steam band is pointing towards you, are the holes vertical or horizontal? Thank you
Horizontal ..
How do you find the machine? I'm thinking of getting this one
Love this machine , trust me you won’t be disappointed
I just got my Profitec Go, I was curious which Normcore accessories you have/use and their size?
I have the calibrated tamper , the needle wDT tool , and the distributor.. all 58.5 mm
Nice setup man, I love my Profitec Go as well, awesome machine.
Thanks!
Can you get water out of it by lowering the steam temperature?
I don’t understand what you mean
Looking forward to the full review!
So, if the extraction is too fast, it turns out sour? It needs to be exactly at 30 seconds and 40 grams out, for it to be a smooth and sweet shot? How can you dial this in on your machine to avoid this, and is it repeatable, or was this just a fluke? Did the machine somehow get over-pressurized?
30-35 for me .. and yes very repeatable… everyone has there own taste so tune your machine how you like it
Noticed you have the beautiful angled ECM naked porta. Good choice and so much better than the stock spouted one
Hi!! When you finish to streaming milk do you activate the brew switch for empty the rest of the steam in the boiler?
Hi ! Yes I do .. I always do it after making my full latte … that’s another reason why I use the 20 oz pitcher .. initially to purge water out of the boiler as recommended by the manual .. but I also hold it under the group head to catch all the water when purging the steam .. and it doesn’t make a mess
@@Nolanreid yes, I have the same machine but I only put a short mug under the brew group and what a mess. I begin to stop steam mode when I am steaming milk when the temperature of the milk is around 45-50 Cº and continue steaming till 65 Cº. I think the big mess becomes a smaller mess.
why no sound of workflow… shame
Sorry that was one of my first videos , please check out my new ones . They do get better
Iv read that the machine requires to warm up 5 to 8 minutes daily for ur 1st espresso qith a group head flush? Is that correct? I thought it has fast heat up tech on it so not very long to wait for ur shots?
Yes about 5 mins or so .. I put the portafilter in when I turn it on .. and flush through the portafilter :)
Ok thanks for informing me. I guess not too much of a issue. Iv also been in touch with the retailer regarding the machine being abit wobbly from the left side. Aparently the one in the showroom is does it too? I feel like im being fobbed off. Is urs fully 100% stable and stuck to the countertop? Or is there a slight movement from left side?
@@jeelanpatel158 mine does not move a inch. Where did you get it from ?
Just DMd u on insta. Which will let me send you a video
Thanks for the video! I got a Profitec Go about a week ago after my Gaggia Classic gave up despite my best repair efforts. Having trouble getting a good microfoam and can never get the kind of pressure that you're getting out of your steam wand. I have it set for 240F for steaming, but it seems like most people go higher, like 265-270F? Only suggestions on the vid is that the music at the end is way too loud. Could barely hear you talking at the end.
Yes thank you , I am still new to editing .. trying to make every video better than the last. I cranked my steam temp as night as it would go .. hope that helps .. and thank you for watching
Hi. Iv just bought a profitec go and have opened it today. And i notice their os a wobble on the machine. My countertop is 100% level but when i put tje spirit level on the machine its unlevel which is whats making the machine be wobbly its like one of the rubber feet doesnt touch countertop fully hence the wobble . Is this a known issue or is this to be expected?? Wondering if you have experienced this? Should i return and rebuy?
I would contact profitec , and see if they can walk you through leveling the feet .. or they might suggest to ship it back and get a new one
I had the same issue. I contacted Clive Coffee where I got mine and they replaced it. The drip tray metal was bowed which caused uneven sitting on counter. Look at it from the side and you can tell if it’s bent
@@dearcoffee85 the retailer didnt want to accept my issue they accepted a return wirh a r.efund. I bought a replaxwment and no issues since. Amazing machine
Is that the original steam tip? Looks different? Can't get steaming right with Go...
Yes it is the factory one … I find holding the steam tip so it shoots down both sides of the jug … keep the tip at the back … and let each jet shoot opposite to create the turbulence you are looking for
Just got the Profitec Go almost a week ago, coming from the Breville Barista Express. I have the Turin SD40 grinder and I have been trying to dial in the whole time. I've pulled 30+ shots and I keep getting watery lattes and espresso that isnt very thick. Do you know what is going on?
How long are your shots running ? And are you weighing them ?
Love the video! You convinced me to go ahead and buy the Profitec GO. Just ordered it & a DF64v!
Good choice!
You won’t regret it .. welcome to the GO family
Hey @@Nolanreid ! Got my machine yesterday, what a beauty. I missed my milk 4 time already on it ahah, trying to make myself some cortado. You have any tips to get the milk swirl going? I just cant get it right ahah.
Great videos. Any tips for the steam wand? I’m struggling to get a vortex at all.
I steam 2 percent instead of whole milk … I put my steam temp up as high as it can go .. and purge as per the manual . Listen for the high pitched squeal for a couple of seconds and then put the steam want in deeper and watch for the turbulence .. heat until it’s hot to touch . Try pouring into another pitcher first and back again .. and practice practice practice
Thanks. Will do. Realized I didn’t have the steam all the way up as well.
Hi, do you know how to drain all water from the boiler of Profitec go ?
I do not , without taking it apart … only thing I can recommend is running water through it a couple of water tanks worth . Hope that helps
Hi! Did you raised the default temperature for steaming? So when you purge (to get some water out before vapor comes out) the temperature doesn't drop to much? Thanks!
Hi ! Yes I raised it all the way up . And I follow the recommended instructions for purging water before steaming
the short/tight headroom under group is a dealbreaker for me
looks like you are a little to fine on the grind, nice workflow
Yes, thanks
Hey Nolan! My barista stumbled across this and we were so excited to see you using our coffee! Send me your shipping address and we will send you a thank you for the next video ❤
I sent a message to you on Facebook :)
Such a great machine
I love it as well
Great video, looking to get a profitec. I have used a manual flair, I mainly drink Americano black but would like to make milk drinks for the odd guest. Do you think this is too much machine to get? Buying a esspresso grind grinder too. Thank you!!
I love my Go , I think it’s a great step up without breaking the bank . I say go for it ! Thank you for watching , and. Please subscribe if you haven’t already
@@Nolanreid thank you for your reply! How do you find the noise level?
Not bad at all , and it’s only for 35 seconds are so
@@Nolanreid that's good, I saw another video and the guy commented on the noise level. Thank you for getting back to me
Hey Nolan, great video and love seeing the Profitec Go in action. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Will do!
