Never ever go on a P and O cruisr

Already changed: $90 a day now on Premier and unlimited specialty dining meals. Not sure who can eat at Crown Grill "every" night.

Staying here with my family of 4 in December to January coming from the states. Can’t wait. Hope the weather is not too terrible.

Whilst describing the soft drink package you show cans of Coke products. Those are NOT included in the package. Only draught soft drinks are, and those are, unfortunately for my taste, Pepsi products. To get the canned Coke products one has to purchase the Premium Non-Alcoholic Option.

Going on a p&o cruise soon. We booked this cruise last year. A few week’s ago we found out that spirits are no longer allowed. Out of principle now I won’t be drinking much and giving them my money. I wasn’t going to buy a drinks package anyway because (a) it’s expensive and (b) I won’t be drinking that much to make it worth my while

As of may 24 you can't take a litre of spirits on board. Only a litre of wine and champagne.

Just enjoyed 4 nights on QA. Our 4th Cunard cruise but the first time we’ve taken the (full) drinks package. It cost £540 before we sailed. Our recorded drinks spend including 15% was £770 sterling!That sounds terrible but lots of tea, coffee, soft drinks and mocktails as well as alcohol. For instance, on the last evening in the Commodore Club we had 5 mocktails each.

Could you confirm please that Cunard adds a gratuity to drinks (each time you order a drink onboard) even if you purchase the drink package BEFORE you boarded?

£200 saved is £200 the cruise line won’t have 😂 The value of drinks packages is so varied. Cunard seen quite expensive so unless you’re a heavy drinker I can’t see it paying for itself. It’s probably for those who just want to know that everything is paid for before they sail.

I did not get the package on Viking and came way out ahead. Remember that they offer beer and wine at meals which are included in the price of the cruise

Hi, we keep watching your videos on replay of Britannia and the other P&O reviews you have done and cannot decide if we should try out the Britannia 🤔. We sailed Iona back in July and loved it. Booked Arvia next year 14 nights. But 2027 we wanted to try Caribbean for my big 50 . Our little one absolutely loved kids club. ( She wants to hopefully meet you all one day she says lol she loves the videos you make also) So I wanted to ask your opinion. Do you think there is enough to entertain kiddies on the Britannia for 2 weeks please? Lol we cannot decide between the P&Os 🙈

Going on QA this November. I am worried I will gain some weight.

We have just come off Queen Anne and no we would never buy a drinks package with Cunard. There were 3 of us (husband, son and myself) in a cabin and we would ALL have to buy the same package . I do not drink much so it certainly would not be worth it. We also had a good OBC .

A very informative video Tom! We haven't changed out minds though, we would never take out a drink package with Cunard. The prices are absurd. We will always pay as we go with Cunard and P&O!

looking at the princess plus drinks package T&C's, non alcoholic drinks are not counted towards the 15 drinks per day, so you can have unlimited soft drinks

Dress up is great There is not many reasons to dress up on land ( hatch, match, dispatch😢, or christenings ) British people just don’t dress up on land

Thanks for the update on drink prices. Your analysis was well thought out and well done. We've sailed 5 times on Cunard, the most recent a Crossing 8 weeks ago, and you can actually bring unlimited wine and spirits onboard for cabin consumption. You can also bring your own bottles of wine to the MDR but there will be a $25 corkage fee per bottle. However, considering that Cunard branded bottles of wine (red, white and rose) are in the mid $30's, it really doesn't make much sense to do that. We consider ourselves to be moderate drinkers (wine/cocktails) but on cruises step that up a bit but even then we agree that the drinks package is not worth it for us on Cunard.

Procesco is included in both packages....why do you say it isn't?...even says so in and visible in your video on last menu!

I took my Father in Law (90) on the 10 day from NY to Hamburg Germany. I give it a mixed review; OK, but should never be compared to a ocean cruise ship. Cost was reasonable, design is dated, maintenance was ongoing during the cruise (even in our balcony twice!). Ship layout did not flow very well. Elevators were very slow. Food was not good, many selections which looked appetizing but weren't). Entertainment was average. Activities were numerous, repetitive & not things I (60) cared to participate in. Cabin & service was adequate, but we could have done without the painting of our balcony (strong & awful smell) & smoke alarm installation (both while we were in our room). In summary, QM2 was just not our cup of tea.

I didn't see the Enchanted Forest. Is it still there after drydock?

Not worth it. Princess drinks are very weak. That's why they're making it unlimited. 15 alcoholic drinks and you won't even get a buzz! If they said, we'll give you 10 alcoholic drinks and we'll actually put some alcohol in them.... then I would consider the premier plan.

Sailed with Princess many times and am at their top tier, so, yes, a few cruises with them. When the industry restarted after the pandemic restrictions, they had a promotion where Princess Plus was added at no charge to the reservations so I booked one. Back then, ships were only still at about the 50% capacity mark so this type of promotion was likely once in a lifetime. The benefit was that it gave me the opportunity to test out a package. Not being a heavy drinker, that week I recall having about four glasses of wine total--even a bartender commented that for the Plus package that he had not seen anyone use it so little. Specialty dining has never held any appeal to me and even with gratuities, I don't trust the cruise lines, so I still give direct cash to the stateroom attendants, despite paying for it; it is a hot topic on its own so I just consider it as part of the fare. For my next cruise in Nov with them, I am still pay-as-you-go. I bought the internet and prepaid the gratuities. For basic math, these two add-ons were about $200 but if I had to buy the Plus, I was quoted around $600 and to be honest I didn't even check to see what the Premier would cost . I would never drink, either in booze or regular coffee from the cafe (I am bland, so not even specialty coffee for me), so the packages have no value to me at all. Of course, everyone has a preference so it would be a personal choice:)

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Be aware COVID19 INFECTION ON BOARD THE WHOLE YEAR OF 2024. WE TOOK THE CRUISE FROM 10 AUG 2024 AND GOT SEVERE CORONA BY ARRIVAL AT HOME. In spite of avoiding the shows and sitting diner knowing from previous reviews that the infestation is active. We saw crew members but also a large amount of passangers of all ages coughing, neezing and using napkins to wipe out the nose. On sea days they restrict the entrance to the buffet and forsed hundrends of passangers to wait up to 30 min in a closed hall while everyone is coughing and neezing. No social distancing. Never cruising again. Cruise boats are super spreaders.

Sorry i was on the azura in april may 2024 and was very displeased with mdr service the crew we inconsistant every meal time , the Indian speciality was fantastic we did not get to try iona in 2023 as my partner came down with covid on board iona. But azura tea coffee water machines not working late night buffet was terrible. Tokd we could not fill our water bottle they wanted use to buy canned water sorry we ignored this not paying for water when theres a machine to provide cold water. azura was dirty compared to iona iona crew constantly cleaning public area all the time. Azura l8fts in main atrium 4 not working the whole 7 days. Cabin steward was very good . Same on iona Iona steward would prep are carbin of an evening or ant time azura nothing after 11am that that we needed it Azura an older ship with a very strange lay out to decks lots of dead end corridors. The staff where very mixed dome worked reslly hard and other where lazy . Buy morning 6 i was fed up in mdr one of our waiters was working so hard whilst 4 stood talking food was coming out late or cold so i had to say something the supervision was very poor. One thing that lets p&o down is there main dinnjng room food presentation it very poor the food look dumped on the plate with no thought and no two plates where arrange the same there appear to be no plating instruction and no one is supervising the food going out. The buffet was very hit and miss again staff did not seem to know where they should be . It was a shame it felt like half the crew where new or had come from another ship well some clearly had as they had a different ships name on sone of there work wear. But that should be an issue. Basics getbthe badics right.

To be fair p&o listened and did away with this charter airline they are uding tui ba virgin jet2 etc
