Mind you one video starts as just a quick flight from Frankfurt to Amsterdam things didn't go to plan. I ended up having to go to Zurich have an overnight in Zurich then head up to Amsterdam

I did discover this in July thanks to Lufthansa making me 15 hours late into Schiphol Airport. Essentially, flight was cancelled and I was rebooked onto Swiss with an overnight in Zurich. But this video was already edited, scheduled and ready to be released so I just left it in. Also in an upcoming NS video, I do mention that ticket bought from a ticket machine come with an additional fee. I bought my ticket for this train online and then printed it out to get around the fee. I always like having a paper back up. In case IT goes down. Like it did 3 or 4 weeks ago. Never push a fix on a Friday

@@JackJackProductions I have an Anonymous OV chipkaart - I top it up in Schiphol whilst waiting for my bag to turn up. :) I stay in Utrecht when I go across much nicer than Amsterdam and I get to practice my Dutch on them :)

@richardtalbot8769, well, I don't have one. But I can usually get WiFi or (at least) 4G, so can just buy a ticket online while waiting at Schiphol for my bag. But sometimes I am just too tired. Like when I was last in the Netherlands. Just 3 hours of sleep was gained the previous night across the road from Zürich Airport. Thanks to a late arrival the previous night, needing to be back at the airport for 5.20am and being in a capsule hotel. So the guy above me woke me up at 4.30am

Yes, they are on the Amsterdam to Rotterdam high speed route, that was their initial deployment and it was their only route when I edited this video. They have started to take over the from loco sets between The Hague/ Den Haag, Rotterdam, and Eindhoven. Once the Belgian authorities say yes, then they will operate the NS International services between Brussels and Amsterdam as well

They are prone to frequent break downs, and spontaneously combusting. In the summer of 2022, a third of all ICE services between Frankfurt and Brussels or Amsterdam were cancelled. Because until the introduction of the ICE 3neo at the end of 2022, the ICE 3M was the only variant of the ICE variant able to run into Belgium and the Netherlands

It certainly makes Karlsruhe Hbf unique, in the sense it can handle everything from TGVs and ICEs to the Stadtbahn

@@JackJackProductions Yes, and this is precisely what a Hbf/gare centrale is supposed to be: a Knotenpunkt/nodal point for all types of transport.

On this route, it is cheaper then an ICE yet just as fast because of the line speed

As more and more older Intercity 1 sets are retired, these along with the IC2 Twindexx, video coming soon, will be on more and more Intercity services at DB. Likewise the ICNGs are taking on more and more Dutch intercity services

I was referring to Scottish Gaelic. There are two different versions of Gaelic. Scottish and Irish. I refer to Scottish Gaelic as Scottish and Irish Gaelic as Irish.

@@JackJackProductions wasn’t quite my point, you said that ScotRails language is English or Scottish, Scottish isn’t a language but a accent and a nationality, gaelic is a language of Scotland, I’m coming across as a Scottish person and quite pissed off by it

I actually don't know why this isn't Spain's flagship train. It is the smoothest, the more reliable, and the most comfortable. The S103 is the flagship for probably just the speed

@@JackJackProductions I'd say the flagship AVE is the "pato" S-102. It's the most used of all of them, in AVE and AVLO services of a lot of routes across Spain. And it is FAR worse in all aspects (it moves A LOT at high speeds, the seats aren't good at all,...) than the S-100 and even the S-103 (this one is actually pretty good and comfortable too, not gonna lie, but of course nothing compared to the S-100)

The S103 isn't bad at all. Just goes to show what some legendary German engineering can do

Why do you think I was going to Zürich Airport? It wasn't to get a pie and chips. October 23 was kind of weird for me. I couldn't get 2 consecutive weeks off work, so I did one half of the planned filming at the start of the month and the other half at the end of the month

Because for Tap Portugal, it makes more financial sense to send this on a domestic run to Faro then have the plane sit around at Lisbon airport for a few hours

So do I. Maybe next time I go to the US for work, I'll fly via Lisbon. Guess that would help with my Star Alliance status goals. But for transatlantic flights, I prefer flying Aer Lingus. Because Dublin and Shannon Airports have US Preclearance

Jeez, calm down. Although the DfT could look into seats like on Germany's ICE 3neo. They are modern and not like sitting on a park bench. Mainly because DB received a load of complaints after introducing the ICE 4 and refurbishing the ICE 3

As for Finnair, I am flying them in the Winter of 2024/25. Mainly because prices for flights to/ from Scandinavia and Scandinavian hotels, are a lot cheaper in the winter when compared to the summer
