I want some frags lmk
I’m gonna see how this next batch grows out and the see where I can unload them. Last batch went to my lfs
Bro I watched all your videos from your oldest video all the way up to this one! Thank you for these videos, I appreciated all the knowledge on keeping tangs, fighting ich and feeding them to keep them happy and stable. I would honestly say you might not need an upgrade. Everyone looks so happy and co existing peacefully, hopefully one day I can get mine like yours. What size was this?
@@NillymNilly93 this tank is the 90 gallon I also have a 40 gallon I keep running just for emergencies and and a 15 gallon clownfish tank that I’m doing a video one this weekend. Thank you for checking my videos. I just like to help others by documenting the good and the bad. You should def post videos just to keep track of your progress and to help others. Send some pics i would love to see your tank! If you ever need any advice don’t hesitate to reach out to me
What a beautiful tank. Everyone is so happy, great job man 🎉
@@NillymNilly93 thank you so much
Great tip ! without it mud would go over the tank .
I know a guy that runs miracle mud and a lot of cheato and he eventually stopped running his skimmer as his nutrients would hit zero lol. I just added mud yesterday. I’ll report back
Let me know how it goes. Some people have mixed results
so far so good. i dont think it knocked my nitrates back at all though. granted i only added about 1lb of mud in my refugium. but if its releasing trace minerals, ill keep it for that alone. @@bronxreeferbrock1750
The tank is looking good bro. Don’t worry about the haters, keep doing you!
Tanks looking great, fish are healthy and not stressed. What's the issue? Look forward to your next video.
Excellent video keep up the good work bro
Thank you my brother
Any update with the new tank?
Yo what’s up. The new tank turned out to be too small for my liking so I’m saving up for a 150 or 180 gallon tank. For now I did get an innovative marine 15 gallon for my designer clownfish for the bedroom.
Also looks like the purple tang is tearing up his tail and he’s stressed to the max… too many tangs in that small of a tank.
lol hate to tell you this but my purple tang has been in my tank for over 7 years and is the one in charge. She is fat and happy and can be hand fed. Check some of my older videos and you will see her happily swimming. All my tanks are stress free because there is plenty of swimming space and we feed the tanks at least twice a day
Hey everybody… quarantine is MANDATORY on tangs. This is sad to watch and could have been avoided. Just Do the QT!!! Blue hippo and powder blues 100% have ich coming in. So just QT all fish from the start with copper safe, metro and general cure and u will eliminate 90% of issues down the road.
If you had watched my earlier video about feeding and caring for my copperband, you will see both my baby hippo tang and copperband in my 40 gallon quarantine tank. Both were in Qt for two months and did extremely well when released into my display tanks. Both fish are still alive and doing very well. So I’m not sure what you mean when you say “it’s sad to watch”.
Btw that is the same hippo tang you seem to think is stressed lol
I don’t think 90 gallon is big enough for the hippo tang
The hippo tang has been in this tank fat and happy for almost 10 years. He was the size of a nickel when I got him and always had plenty of swim space. I’m sure all my fish would be happy with a larger tank but for now they would say I’m a good father lol
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 is your tank at least 4 feet long? They also do well with 4 feet tanks
The 75 and the 90 are both 4foot tanks
Where did you buy him and how much ?
I got him at my local reef shop for $75 and the sailfin for $65. He was kinda thin but was eating so we took a chance on him. Sadly he passed away suddenly recently. These powder blues are very difficult to keep.
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 wow sorry to hear that he looked great inside your tank. Im thinking of getting a purple baby tang for 200 online or one of these. I think i will go with the purple altho i really love the powder blues. ..
@@Coral-reef. the purple tang is a great choice but don’t give up on the powder blue. They are gorgeous fish
“Let the miracles out” 😂 I think we run the same sump. I love trigger sapphire sumps
I wouldn't run carbon with it. Except maybe for an emergency or something if you needed to use it, then I would take it out right away.
Hey might of missed it what size tank is this. Also awesome tank
Thanks it’s a 90 gallon
Whats up Brock - great video - any tips for Copperbands is great My personal experience is I have one that I've had for about 2 weeks now. I bought it from the LFS and chose the healthiest looking swimmer as opposed to the one that ate - whoops, broke rule #1. Anyways, I'm feeding it clams from the asian market after freezing them. It's the only thing so far that it will eat. Things that I tried that haven't worked: * live blackworms * mysis (PE - special grade and regular, and Hikari) * blood worms * live brine * masstick on rocks, masstick stuffed in clam * fish eggs My goal is to keep it healthy and fed and then come up with strategies to wean onto other foods as it grows and gets comfortable in the tank. How did yours turn out?
Hey there! We’ll copperband #1 mysteriously died overnight in a power head accident and it was really gross. Copper and #2 lived for two years (the one in the video), and then died while I was away for the weekend. These fish are notoriously hard to keep alive and that’s why I keep trying to crack the code. That’s also why I’m working with the powder blue tang now too. Your list looks perfect! If it doesn’t like that lineup then it’s on a hunger strike and probably won’t make it. Stick with what you’re doing. 99% of the time it’s the fish, not you that’s the problem.
Powered Blue Tang notorious for Ich. They call that fish 911 at World Wide Corals. In fact you go into any of their stores. They don’t carry them because of this.
I agree with them! But this fish is the favorite of the wife and I’m gonna crack the code to keeping them alive some day lol
He's pretty thin I would offer nori round the clock with multi feedings. Fatten him up so he can withstand the ich
He was actually a bit thinner but he is eating a lot. I will definitely pump up the feeding
Is the powder blue the only one with the outbreak? I couldn't see it on any other fish.
Only the powder blue had the outbreak but it appears to be gone. I’ll have an update video posted by the end of the week. Powder blue did very well and kept eating so I wasn’t too worried. I did add three small cleaner wrasses to ease the pain so I think that did the trick
They do good when quarantined. I have the powder brown . Nice tank . Bx here.
All of my other tangs that died were all quarantined. I have some thoughts on the mortality rate of powder blues that I’m going to put out in my next video
Без песка и улиток-вполне приемлемо?
Bare bottom tanks are cool but I prefer sand always. I love to see the marine life in its natural setting
Good luck and hope for a speedy recovery. 🙏
Long as he is eating you have a chance. Feed feed feed .... I had ich once took everyone out and got rid of it now I buy qt fish just added a Powder Brown after trading my Powder Blue lol he was sooooo mean the Brown came in last so he is a modeled citizen and wow a gorgeous fish! Bulk your Blue up so he can fight the ick off... hoping for the best
Great looking tank Lisa!!
@Bronx Reefer Brock Awwww thank you!!
Add a large U V and I mean large!!!!
I’ve had several I’ve sterilizers in the tank over the years and I don’t like to use them because they can kill off more than is necessary. They also only sterilize the free floating parasites for a brief time period. Once the fish has them it’s too late. All you can do is make them comfortable and feed feed feed lol
Bro, I hate dealing with ich!! I’ve learned the hard way about 4 times 🤦🏻♂️. This time, all my fish have been through copper qt. I’m just tired of losing fish. Good luck brother. Hopefully everyone turns out alright!
All my tangs did much better without QT. Less stress. As long as they are eating within the first couple of days then they go right into the display. All except these damn powder blues
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 ya I hear you. My fish are all doing well with the exception of my powder blue. He literally stopped eating frozen out of nowhere. He still picks at nori but, won’t eat prepared food for some reason. I actually ordered one of those little brine shrimp hatcheries. I’m hoping I can get him eating with those!
@@MikeLemming when one of my fish doesn’t eat I’ll make a crazy mix of all the foods I have and then over feed the tank for a few days. Of course I’ll watch my phos and nitrate levels until they reach my peak and then dial everything back to normal.
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 ya I plan to run to the LFS today and buy some foods that I don’t have
Ruby Reef Combo worked for me with the combo of garlic and citric drops on the food.
Nice setup.
Thank you so much I appreciate that
Looking realllll good !
Thank you my brother, still a work in progress
Looking good 👌🏻
Thank you my brother! I’ve been subscribed to you for awhile and I love your 310, wish I had the space for one
Glad to see everyone doing well! When my new tank is setup, I’m hoping all my tangs get along!
Everything is going to work out
Yeah Tee! They’ve done great over night together so I’m about to post a quick follow up vid. Btw I’m digging the new 90 build. Real clean as always
Looking good! Thank you for sharing.
Nice additions Brock! The tank is looking good!
Thanks Mike! Good to see you again. You helped me a lot with your live streams years ago.
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 thanks brother but you didn’t need the help. You’ve always had a good tank!
Very nice 👍🏻
Thank you
Kool tank
Thank you
nice rebuild!
Very helpful, just about to do this. Thank you very much sir.
Glad the video helped!
How long did you leave the Mirror
Hey Juan! The entire process took no more than two hours. Once they accept that no one is a threat stop trying to kill each other. But the original fish all introduced themselves to the new guy and let him know who the boss got is. That’s normal behavior if you want everyone to get along and have a peaceful tank.
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 thank you brother I’m actually getting a gold rim today
i left the mirror for about 2 hours or until the aggression stopped and then put it back for another 2 hours so the fish felt no threat. After that all was fine.
Are you still using Miracle Mud? If not y not
I no longer use miracle mud because I didn’t really see any longer term effects or benefits. I have experimented with other ways of maintaining bio-diversity and been just as effective or better
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 So what are you using now to utilize that
@@cbr900rr I have a good mix of products like microbacter 7 and dr. Tim’s eco- balance. Lots of copepods and good healthy cheato in the Refugium. Oh and a good mix of snails , tuxedo urchin and tangs of course
Looks good brock
Thank you sir!
Looking good bro!
Thanks Mike! Miss your videos man
I’m coming back brotha. New build almost ready to get wet!
😎👍🏻
great vid bro
Thank you
Do I need to be treated before going in the water? Does it affect the ph value?
The rocks should be rinsed and sit in some RO water for a few hours but no need to treat with anything. My ph never moved from 8.2. Im not a big fan of dry rock and i have always used live rock. If i was to do it again, I would let the dry rock cure in a brute can for 6 months and add live bacteria and flow. Then add to my display tank.
Beautiful Reef Tank Reboot
look good
How did the miracle mud do in the long run for your tank? And do you recommend it?
I found that the miracle mud helped to keep my water clearer than without it. But i would say it wasnt much of a miracle. I suspect there are positives in the nutrient aspect of the mud but no overwhelming evidence to say it took my system to the next level. I would recommend it but only as an additive after your tank is already stable and mature
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 Thnx!
Did I hear you say a 75gal?
90 gallon
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 you think I can get away with a 100 gal with several tangs? I have purple at the moment and want to add a powder brown, kole tang and maybe another sohal tang
You certainly can have multiple tangs in a 100 gal. The problem is that the sohal will out grow the tank quickly so i wouldnt add the sohal. The others will remain a decent size for the 100. The other problem will be the purple tang. Purple tangs are territorial and will attempt to kill the others as you add them. I would temporarily relocate the purple tang to another tank for a month or so and then reintroduce him to the 100 after everyone else has settled in. Have multiple nori feeding stations daily and all should be fine
@@bronxreeferbrock1750 thanks for your help and advice. So is the yellow tang not as aggressive as the purples?
@@stevencheng5722 ive had more aggression from my purple than my yellow tang. The zebrasoma species in general will often be aggresive to other tangs
