Future Past feat Natapats
To hear complete song go to soundcloud.com/reverendp/future-past-f-natapats-1 Faux Press Release (tongue firmly pressed in cheek) fashioned for a friend on whose theatrical project staged in Hong Kong I helped design sound. He had this track played in a nightclub at the after party.

Sunday 12/12/2010. For immediate release:
Inspired by The Crystal Method, Propellerheads and other Big Beat artists, and after having been profoundly impressed by a daughters philosophical proclamation, Kevin Carr aka ReverendP of the United States releases his latest fresh track for free distribution throughout Hong Kong and mainland China. For ReverendP fans this track is both ground-breaking and familiar. Present are the over the top production values, heavy break beats, instrument solos and extended song within a song elements. Future Past was created entirely on the iphone 4 using only Nanostudio by Blip Interactive and is his most polished, club-ready track to date.
Borrowing liberally from both Crystal Method There is Hope and Propellerheads Spybreak, both tracks in turn were derivations of previously recorded material, most notably the theme music from Mission Impossible, thus legitimizing - at least in the artist's mind - the share and share alike nature of digital society. All synthesizers were performed by the artist using his iphone 4. Some elements like the rocking drum solos and the kick ass slap bass riffs were programmed into a sequencer. An extensive amount of customization was used to craft the many sounds. Here there is a departure from the sample based projects such as Felt Waves and Spybreak remix. Imminently danceable Future Past wears well on repeated listening and appeals to fans of all forms of electronic music - or Cadillac commercials.
While watching Mythbusters with his 6 year old daughter Natalie (aka Natapats) a particularly mind bending time/space concept was being discussed when shy Natalie suddenly proclaimed "Today is the future of the past." Taken aback, the doting father probed for clarification and a wonderful exchange followed. Using his trusty iphone he stealthily recorded their conversation, thus capturing a great shared moment and a rather profound idea to ponder. That is the essence of Future Past. Who's driving your boat?
If you get a chance to hear it, we'd love to know what you think.
